Who has the best value to win its region?

There is a bunch of chalk remaining for the Sweet 16 and that has led to one thing: more chalk. The No. 1 seeds are all heavy favorites to advance to the final four and several books, like Betjamaica, even have all four teams listed at minus money to win their respective regions.

Pittsburgh is -110 (East), UNC is -200 (South), Uconn is -110 (West) and Louisville is -165 (Midwest).

It doesn’t exactly make for any huge payouts if you want to take any one of these teams to hit the court in Detroit in a couple of weeks.

So, my question to you is, who has the best value to win its region outside the No. 1s?

Before the tournament began I grabbed Kansas at a little better than +600 to win the Midwest and they are now at +400. I happen to think Louisville isn’t as good as the billing suggests and the Cards are beatable against a well-coached team with a savvy ball handler that can break the press.

The Jayhawks meet both those criteria with Bill Self and Sherron Collins.

Kansas still needs to get by a tough Michigan State squad, but if it can, I think the J-birds have a great shot at toppling Louisville. That is if the Cards can get by Zona.

Who’s your best dog play to win its region?

Nova. Match up wise they can beat Puke, and Pitt, has been playing horrible and they have already beaten them on a "neutral" court already this yr. Cuse has a tougher bracket to go thru, but value is there. I do not like their match ups as much though.

I think Missouri has a decent shot, I think that they have a tougher road than Kansas, but I think that Missouri's defense is going to give Memphis trouble, as well as UConn if they get by Memphis. I believe Kansas is going to punish Mich St, and whether they win the MidWest will depend on which Lou team shows up, the one that lost to ND by 30+ or the one that won the BE tourney. BOL.

Purdue +6.5, if Etwaun moore continues to step up along Jujuan Jonhnson in the middle this could cause match up problems for the huskies especially if Robbie hummel has a big game the huskies could be in trouble.

haha Jajuan Johnson in the middle is going to cause match up problems??? Every hear of a guy named Hasheem Thabeet? Talk about match up problems. How bout Jackson on Price or Hummel the softy on Adrien...Yea right dude...Youll cover your bet but there is ZERO chance that purdue beats them here...And thats coming from a guy who has followed Purdue all year

Purdue is +700 to win the West. I have Uconn going to the finals in my bracket so I'm going to stick with that. Boilers are looking good but I just can't see them beating Uconn and then Memphis (or Mizzou).

From a pure value perspective, I like Nova and Purdue.

king,

how about when adrien has to come out on Hummel? Its not the best match up for UCONN. And Purdue can watch price. he has shown when he is off, the team is off. If there is one thing B10 bball knows what to do, is pester teams that don't like to play their style. ZERO chance of winnign that game, there is no way thats true.

Purdue +6.5 has the best value. I dont know if it will transfer into the cover but i love it.

Pitt -110 is an awesome value I think. they have looked like trash. and xavier should be one more hard one, and they will roll over nova/duke

Bracks,

When he has to come out and guard him he will. Hummel then will most likely get past him and meet a man named Thabeet. Hey, its the tournament, anything can happen but watch and see. UCONN will advance...

The second option for UCONN is use Robinson on Hummel. Do people forget that he is 6'9" and athletic?? If UCONN gets to the final four, and I believe that they will, it will because Robinson stepped up after Dyson went down. If Austrie comes out of his slump, UCONN could win the whole thing.
