Monday college hoops leans

Nice night a few nights back cashing in the Long Beach ML, and baring 2 louzy quarters from the Clippers I would have cashed that ML against the Knicks.

So for Monday...injuries factor big tonight.

Furman +21

*This team is pretty lousy offensively at times, but I don't think South Carolina should be laying this many points to anybody right now.  Until Holmes & Archie come back I'd stay far away from backing SC...as Downey can't do it all.

Appalachian St +14.5

*So we have 2 similar teams defensively, and App St shoots better from the charity stripe....3pt land and rebound the ball better.  Now take away both Johnson's for Dayton as both are doubtful (20ppg & 10rpg combined) that's a lot to make up for.  With those 2 guys they've had trouble beating mid-level competition by DD's.

Fresno St +5

*Backed them succesfully against BYU a few back, they rebound the ball well and play solid defense allowing 38% on the year.  IF they have a decent night from the charity stripe they can steal this roady.  Montana St is solid, but I hate backing teams that shoot nearly 1/2 of their shots from deep.

Pacific -4

*Another case of the injury bug here for Santa Clara as their best scorer Foster is out.  Which leaves Dowdell & Trasolini with too much to do.  They met early in the season on Pacific's home-court and Pacific proceeded to roll them in an 84-57 route.  22pts coming from Foster.  This has BLOWOUT written all over it.  Clara will need A+ games from both guys I mentioned to stay within single digits.

Looking into Long Beach St on the road, but undecided...

Adding:

Canisius -7.5

*If they shoot anywhere near 45% I think they roll here.  North Florida will have to shoot 45-50% themselves to stay close as they can't shoot free-throws and can't rebound the ball.  Offensive rebounding itself in this game will probably favor Canisius by atleast 15pts...so if their FG % is anywhere near decent...I just can't see a team that has trouble reaching 55pts staying in this.

Adding:

Utep ML

*Big advantage here down low with Caracter now eligible.  Oklahoma will need to have good games from both Warren & Crocker.  Problem I forsee with them is UTEP is holding teams under 40% from the field and the driving lanes their used to wont be there today. So they'll have to exceptional outside shooting tonight if they hope to escape this Miners squad.

Adding: 2nd Half Play

Canisius -6 (Must win game by 1+)

*Can't see them losing to this North Florida team, their currently losing the rebounding battle which is definitely unexpected.  I can't see NF continuing to shoot almost 50% and 70% from the charity stripe.  A little home-cooking played a big part as fouls were 13-7, and Canisius didn't hit the bonus till under the 2min mark.

Appreciate the love  I like to provide some form of insight into my plays...and it's not much trouble typing up a few reasons for the plays.

Rough start..as Canisiuis not only fails to cover the game but lose SU and cost me double up on the 2nd half line.

Well I'm looking 2-2 dead in the eye..

UTEP ML still up DD's over Oklahoma mid-way through 2nd half

And I got Furman down only 2pts at halftime as a 21pt dog...

Furman completely shitting the bed.  14 turnovers this half already and now down by 21...fucking awesome.
KBrick84 says:
12/21/09 08:44PM
Doesn't help they are shooting a HUGE 28%, haha.
KBrick84 says:
12/21/09 08:57PM

3-2   (4-2 with unposted Kentucky -17.5)

Davidson & Kentucky cash the 2nd half

KBrick84 says:

WOW Furman fucked me big time especially if Appalachian St wins SU...as I had a nice parlay alive if they could've cashed the +21

3-4

Furman blows the game cover and obviously the 2nd half, the 17 turnovers in the 2nd may have had something to do with it.

Adding: 2nd Half Play

Appalachian St +7 (Lose by 10 or less)

Adding:  ML Upset

Fresno St ML

KBrick, do you know for certain that Foster is out for S.Clara??? If so, I am going to pound Pacific.....
KBrick84 says:
12/21/09 09:15PM
Well he hasn'tt played in the last 4 games, so I can only assume that covers is correct.  Also just noticed Dowdell has been listed as questionable.  They have NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO shot if both are out.
KBrick84 says:
12/21/09 10:01PM

3-7

Appalachian St ML, +13 & +7 2nd half all lose...lovely.

Seems all the teams I'm taking are finding a way to shoot under 30% haha
