University of Illinois alumni -- well, the one's who dorkily memorize college fight songs -- should recognize the topic heading lyric/white songwriter's lame attempt to capture an Indian war cry from the Illini fight song entitled "Illinois Loyalty."

Although I've lived in Illinois nearly all my life, I've never been a sports fan who only supports and cheers for local and regional teams. My uncle, a talented U of I wrestler many, many years ago, has threatened me more than once with the half nelson move, for my lack of support and fanhood for Illinois athletics.

Today, however, I just might find myself singing, however poorly, the "Illinois Loyalty" fight song...or the ever popular (and I'm not making this up) "Oskee Wow Wow."
