Cardinals Crush Colts!

Get your Arizona Cardinal bets in quick, ladies and degenerates, because the line will keep moving in Arizona's favor...and most likely end at -3.5 or -4.

Fade what you hear in the media, Peyton Manning is not Jesus Christ, and his offense are not the apostles. There is a reason that the final outcome of Monday night's game -- a win for the team that possessed the ball only 15 minutes -- has never happened before in league history. Because Jesus and the Rapture will be history before it ever happens again!

The Colts are good this year is like saying the 2-0 Denver Broncos will make the playoffs or the 2-0 New York Jets are Super Bowl bound. In other words, misguided media invention.

I'm not saying stray from your usual handicapping techniques, because the "lock' in sports betting is big fat myth -- even heavier than Santa Claus. However, if Peyton Manning pulls another lucky horseshoe out of his ten gallon hat come Sunday night, I'll be the first to blog ESPN or Twitter that I sincerely want Peyton to be a surrogate father for my third child. And I will rightly name my son... Jesus.

I like the Cardinals in this game, but it is awfully scary betting against Jesus Christ

Peyton Manning will do the exact same thing to this weak Cardinals pass defense as he did to the Dolphins weak pass defense.

If you're going to play Arizona, do it in the 1st half.

and what happens if he does to the cardinals what he did in the first 3 1/2 quarters to the dolphins that were without their 2 starting corners?

And the Indy pass defense is any better? Who has Indy faced that has a passing attack this year? Miami was able to throw on them all over the place.

The Cards are going to try and control the TOP like Miami did, look forward to seeing plenty of Wells and Hightower and lots of short passes with plenty of RAC yards.

You are correct about the Cards secondary, I doubt you will see single coverage and very vanilla delay blitzes like last night, I expect Davis to either go at Manning or make him complete passes into a packed secondary (like SF did in week 1 against the Cards).

I am not betting the game, I dont like the line at all..especially since it has moved a ton already, but the way the Cards first team offense was clicking last week and how Wells was getting HUGE chunks of yards, I dont see Indy stopping the Cards offense.

Horrible game to take this week, but I agree with you, Serf.....

Yes the Indi pass Def is much much better. Any Arizonas running game is absolute garbage, they ranked 31st last year in yards per carry. This is set up perfectly for the colts.

What horseshoe? So now when Manning comes from behind in the 3rd Q its having a horseshoe, but when anyone else comes from behind its just pure skill.

In the 4Q

I think our 25th ranked rushing offense will have a great game against your 30th ranked rush defense on Sunday.

The hope you have is that Manning will be able to attack the secondary, because the liklihood of rushing on our 4th ranked rush defense isnt very good.

Its a good matchup..

You better get it done rushing the ball because if not, your boy Kurt Warner is gonna be in a lot of pain after the game.

I totally agree with you KingSerf. Only because both Bob Sanders and Anthony Gonzalaz as we seen on Monday night they missed them dearly. With them in, i really don't know. Cardinals all the way

Don't bring up last year. Really last year? What about the dolphins who went 1-15 and then made the playoffs the next year. Last year does not matter at all right now. I don't care of the Cards went 0-16 and lost every game by 50 points. It does not matter

wallstreetcappers says:

Kurt faced a MUCH tougher defense in week one than your team will be able to muster.

Tell the Colts to blitz Warner..that should be the game plan for Sunday..

Blitzing Warner will guarantee a victory for the Colts..since you guys average a whopping TWO sacks a game, it should be  piece of cake.

 CARDS should win this game.
Serb89 says:
09/22/09 08:11PM
Alright, they can have fun with their 25th ranked Rush game.
Serb89 says:
09/22/09 08:12PM

Yes averaging 2 sacks because we have yet to face a pocket passer like Kurt Warner, this should be Dwight Freeney and Robert Mathis' day.
Serb89 says:

We'll see how the Cards play against the number 1 Pass Def team.

Indy always does fairly well against the pass no matter who they are playing. They can't play the run for shit though.

It's also a very tough spot for Indy on a short week (especially for the defense after playing 3/4 of the game last night) going on the road for a 2nd week in a row and traveling out west no less so they could be at another disadvantage against the Cards offense.

The main point of my first post was that if this game is tight late and the Colts have the ball it is almost a guarantee that they are going to score. I could see a play on both teams here. I'm going to sit out as well but if I were to play ARZ I would play 1st half.

I am not basing my defensive stats off ONE game (nfl.com hasnt updated the second game for you yet) rather LAST year stats for passing purposes. You averaged less than 2 sacks a game last year, plus if you knew the Cards you would know I am jibbing you. Warner averages a 115 passer rating against the blitz, go ahead and try to blitz him, especially with most of the team healthy and in sync.

Your defense will not have an answer, the Cards defense in general is better, especially the rushing defense. The issue will be turnovers/penalties and who controls the pace of the game.

I think the Cards will be the toughest test you will have all season long in the passing game (I think the Cards passing game is better than the Pats this year) so dont be too shocked if you get knocked around on Sunday.

Wait I'm confused, should i use last years stats or this years stats? We'll see how your 22nd pass def(last year) will handle Petyon Manning because you won't play a better QB this year. Also your running attack is so 1 dimensional, run it up the gut and no where near what the Miami run game is. We got some big guys to stuff the middle and wont have to worry about the wildcat like we had to yesterday. Just like yesterday i guess the colts will have to keep proving people wrong. BOL with you bet

No way in hell will the line be a pick, it opened up at -1 for Arz and its already up to 2.5. I'm waiting for it to get to 3, 3.5. I will be loading up on the colts ML! Cha ching.

on your play. its hard to say how this game will go but i feel indy will pull out this victory.

Cardinals dont have the running game the Dolphins have so they are not going to keep Peyton off the field. This looks like it has all the makings of a good old fashioned shoot out. Open at 47.5 I believe, can you not be on the over in this one?

I think the whole issue is one single thing that I do not think anyone has stated.....

The Colts Defense was on the field for 3 Quarters of the game on Monday Night in Miami in some serious heat....Not only that but most of those plays were running and the offensive line beat on those guys and their defense battled hard. They are going to be beat down from a great battle in which they got the stop when they needed it in the game.

Now they must travel across the country and play on a short week as well. Also throw in the temperature factor again in the desert and it is going to be tough a pretty good offensive team.

I know the Indy offense will hold it own.....I just think the defense is in serious trouble. I think you will see the effects of being in the field too much. I do not think the Cardinals will sit in the ball.....If they do it will be the first half then open the offense in the 2nd half and will score alot of points in this game.

It comes down to the effects of what a short week and the kind of game they just played!!!

Keep on using last year's stats. Edge ran well in a few playoff games--showing that their run blocking might have improved at the most critical time possible, and improvement that could well carry over to this season--and he was past it. Hightower is no starter. Wells is the explosive runner they have need for years down there. He is already doing well and given all the attention people pay to ARI's (still nearly unstoppable) pass O he will have plenty of room all year long.

ok so, I'm on the Cards as well. However, I do not think this is gonna be a "crushing" situation. There is nothing about the Cardinals that leads me to believe they are going to crush the Colts. Obviously, I hope that they do but I just don't know where all this (over)confidence comes from. Was it that INCREDIBLY IMPRESSIVE win over the Jags, aka, one of the worst teams in the league? Was it their loss at home to the 49ers?  Seriously, they have done nothing YET to lead anyone to be boasting about how bad they will "crush" anyone.

Furthermore, if the Cards do end up losing it is this thread that I am going to remember and probably assume jinxed the entire play. That said! GO CARDS!
