Would Rasheed Wallace be a good fit for the Magic?

It's no secret the Orlando Magic are considering making a run at Detroit Pistons power forward Rasheed Wallace during free agency. Insert groaning sound of Magic fans here.

After all, Magic fans have spent years hating the animated Wallace. His on-court antics and volatile temper have led to NBA suspensions and a reputation as a whiner.

In fact, Sheed made our 2007 list of sports' biggest babies, joining the likes of Randy Moss, Terrell Owens and Mark Cuban.

On Wallace's selection, Sentinel columnist David Whitley wrote:

(Wallace) has career averages of 19.3 points, 9.4 rebounds and 2.4 technical fouls per game. Once gave a ref a heart attack by admitting he committed a foul. The NBA last season enacted the zero-tolerance "Sheed Rule" to stop players from griping. Offenders are fined $5,000 and have their pacifiers taken away.

By the same token, the Pistons didn't care. During the Magic-Pistons NBA playoff series in 2008, former Sentinel colleague and good guy Tim Povtak wrote:

Despite his history of coming unnerved, despite a well-deserved and career-long reputation for controversy, and despite opposing crowds that always try to incite him, Wallace has been the stabilizing influence for the Pistons in both this series, and in Detroit's long-running success.

"When you come to Detroit, you know the good, the bad and indifferent about him," said Pistons Coach Flip Saunders. "But what a lot of people don't know, and... [More]

Tonite Bowl game
Norte Dame vs Hawaii.

Merry Xmas to All. Tonites match up comes on a perfect day where you can enjoy some ball and enjoy Time with the Fams. In TOnites match up I ell a Big Miss match. NOrte Dame has a real good chance to get back on a winning note in Bowl Games. I know historically they have been awful but they played Elite Teams. This year they play a team out from the Wac. The Wac is a weak confrence in my opinion. During the year Hawaii has played teams you would think they could beat but came up short.

SAN JOSE St @ Hawaii. 20-17 Victory at Hawaii.
Hawaii @ Utah State 14-30

These 2 teams were teams I would think Hawaii would have no problem but there Conf. Games so I will give them That.

Norte Dame Losses

3OT Loss to Pitt. Which has proven to be a strong Team In the Top 25
Loss @ North Carolina 24-29. Def not an easy place to play.
and The Fluke Loss to Syracuse 24-23.

Norte Dame Had a real good shot to come up with 8+ Wins but played tight games with ELite SChools From the Big East. ACC. Big 10 and Loss. I must add 6 oppenents they played are in Bowl Games showing that they play a stronger competion then Hawaii. And its Makes me think that this is a Early blessing from NCAA to let Norte Dame play in a Bowl game and play against a Oppenent like Hawaii. At 1st the lines Came out as -1.5 Hawaii. Now you see at Game time its as High as -2.5 Norte Dame. Hawaii should have never been favored. I know ... [More]

College Saturday

Finally college ball is back....2 Games are on the board For me.

looking at the rematch and our 1st game of the bowl season with Navy vs Wake. Wake gave up the ball 6x in the 1st game and still kept the game close. Wake has a strong Defense had a Great LB that can stuff the run. Wakeforest has playmakers and I believe that game was just a randome Fluke. Navy isnt terrible but I dont think there good enough to compete with a team that would love to have That game back. So I feel the revenge factor from getting kicked out of the TOP 25 after there Lost to Navy. I will look for a Wake D to force TO and if Wake is in the lead Look for Mr. SMith to have an INT for Wake. GL to ALL

(Wake -3)

The Next game I look into is Fresno State vs Colorado St. I know Pat Hill is a good coach and all his success but that was the past. Fresno has proved to be one of the Hype teams to start the year and end up just being a Big Hype. There D is just horrible and I know Colo State isnt that great as well but Colo State has a Good Running back and Mathews for Fresno is still fight an injury. Colorado State plays in a stronger Conf. then the poor Wac. Colorado State played a Tough Game against TCU Lost 7-13. played a thriller vs BYU loosing 42-45. They have proven that they can play when it comes to playing Elite Teams in there Conf. As for Fresno They are very lucky to be in a bowl a 50+ yard FG to win at Utah State. The Double OT win over Toledo, and just Getting by NMState. Th... [More]
