NHL, NBC announce multiyear extension

The National Hockey League and NBC Sports today announced an extension through the 2010-11 season of their successful revenue-sharing partnership -- one that has achieved viewership milestones, programming and production innovations, awards and critical acclaim. The joint announcement was made by NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman and Ken Schanzer, President, NBC Sports.

"The NHL/NBC partnership has been terrific. Our association has led to such technical innovations as the 'Inside the Glass' reporting and to such programming advancements as the extremely popular Winter Classic," NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman said. "Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final was broadcast television's most-watched hockey game in 36 years, which makes clear the NHL and NBC are building an audience, are building momentum and are perfectly positioned to continue growing the game."

Schanzer said: "We're thrilled to be able to continue our relationship with the NHL and build on all the positive momentum on and off the ice. Together, we have attained viewership milestones not seen in more than three decades. And the Winter Classic, in just two years, has become one of the highlights of the sports calendar. We strongly believe this is a league that is poised for continued growth."

RECORD VIEWERSHIP: NBC Sports has achieved a number of ratings milestones including broadcasting the most-watched regular season game in 34 years (2009 Winter Classic) and the most-viewed NHL game overall in 36 yea... [More]

I'll give you the holy grail of gambling...

But 99% of you will not be able to follow it.

No offense to anyone, but it takes patience and more patience. You can't get into the thrill of making big bucks on every play.  I can honestly say that since I've used internet accounts, I've never tapped out.  I've taken money out at the end of the season.  But that was me just getting the cash. Not tapping out.

We had this discussion last year.  Very good info.  I will actually have people argue that this is not the way to go.  Well, I have math on my side.  Also I have the proof of not putting any money in my internet accounts by tapping since 1996.

First of all.  Lay off the parlays.  UNLESS........You are parlaying two big favs.  That will make them into an even wager or a dog. I see so many people trying to score the huge hit by parlaying 4 or more teams.

Second.  Just because it's a big fav, doesn't mean they are going to win. There are plenty of upsets in hockey.

Third. It kind of goes with the first two.  Stay away from the juice. It will just kill ya.  You will notice I will play -1 lines quite a bit.  This gets the big juice plays down to low or no juice.  Also it turns big favs to nice dogs.  You can turn that -150 into a +137.  That's a huge difference.  Yes, you will get some ties.  But that's part of the game.[More]

A history lesson for game 6....posting it early so everyone sees it

As expected the Wings won game 5 at home to make that certain situation a perfect 9-0 now in finals history.

Now this might be a bit of a surprise for most about game 6.  You would think where this is such a home and home series that the Pens should be a pretty good wager to tie things at home.  But hold on there, teams that win game 5 at home, use that as a springboard for game 6 on the road.

Ok......here goes with maybe some surprise info and something that won't be such a surprise....Well maybe the percentage will be a surprise.

Teams that win game 5 at home in a series where it has just been a homer series have a winning percentage of 14-8 (.636) in game 6 and a series winning record of 21-1 (.955)

So being a slight to lower mid dog, which the Wings will be in game 6, it's getting major value for your money

BOL everyone.

Fridays 1st and lack of goal picks

Two plays and both are 1st period unders.  I really like the game under, but I have just seen too many 3rd periods go crazy as of late.  I also like the Flames tonight, although you know I have a hard time taking the Flames.  It's been awhile......Gawd I hate Kennan.  Ok.......

Nucks/Wild un 1.5 -123 (1st period)
Flames/Blues un 1.5 -112 (1st period)

Yeah, the Nucks worry me a bit.  Surely a premium on defense will be beaten into thier heads after last nights 3rd period meltdown.  The Blues....just have that feeling.......they will actually play some good and Kippy will keep up the recent good work.

Las Vegas Sands Plunges on Default, Bankruptcy Risk

-- Las Vegas Sands Corp., billionaire Sheldon Adelson's casino company, fell the most in New York trading since going public after saying it may default on debt and face bankruptcy.

The casino owner, which had $8.8 billion in long-term debt at the end of June, said in a regulatory filing today that it probably won't meet the requirements of loans arranged by Citigroup Inc., Goldman Sachs Group Inc. and Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc. unless it cuts spending on developments, boosts earnings at its Las Vegas Strip casinos and raises more capital.

The reversal of fortune is a black eye for the 75-year-old Adelson, who was once America's third-richest man on the strength of his Las Vegas Sands holdings. The Las Vegas-based company's dwindling cash flow is threatening $16 billion worth of developments in Macau, China, and Singapore, where Las Vegas Sands is building resorts to cater to wealthy Asian gamblers.

``They need to raise money,'' said ... [More]

Week 7, NFL teasers...(4-9 -7.2 YTD) Give me yours also

There are no excuses, I have just been horrible this year. Yes I know there have been tons of upsets and blowouts but the bottom line is being down -7.2 units.  I honestly feel things will turn around and I will not stop now.  This is where the teaser bashers come in and say I told you so.  Since they didn't get a chance for the past 7 years I would say it's time.

Now moving on and here they are. I played these yesterday morning

2 team 6pt -110

Tennessee -2
Green Bay +7.5 ('fraid Manning may be back on track)

Week 6, NFL teasers...(4-7 -4.8 YTD) Give me yours also

Teasers went 1-2 last week.  The reason I and others have done so well with teasers in the past 7 years or so has been because of parity in the NFL. Parity is taking a vacation so far this year.  That and some very big upsets have played havoc.  But things will swing back, still a long season left and plenty of plays.  But I can tell you that I am putting the Lions on the do not play list.

Anyway, here we go.  Both plays at Betjam

Two team 7pt -130

Saints -2
Giants -2

Two team 6pt teaser -110

Green Bay +8
Carolina +7.5

BOL to everyone

Hope you have a  type of week.

Time for some future wagering. Here is what I took and why

It was time so I struck.  I see teams that overhyped and under hyped.  Favs that should be so and wagered on and favs that shouldn't be touched.  You all know how I like those dogs, but sometimes you get very good value on a fav also.

Let's start off with the division winners.  Only two here, there are juiced....well one of them are.  But a winner is a winner.

Habs to win the Northeast -135

Now on other boards you may have seen me say that I thought the Habs were being overhyped and everyone was just getting excited because of the 100th year.  Well.....I am not backing off of that, I think you can find very good prices fading the habs at spots this year.  But they will still win the Northeast

Boston – They really didn’t do anything in the offseason, beside adding Ryder. They have a good young team that played over their heads against the Habs in the playoffs. They will make the playoffs but they won’t be enough to challenge for the division lead.

Buffalo – Free agency has just killed this team last year. Actually considering what they lost it wasn’t a horrible year for them. Lots of young talent here, they will steal some games but Miller ... [More]

Warning to all that are looking for big sign up bouns'

The books that offer these huge bouns' are the ones that will take thier time to pay you back.  Take a look at some of the highest rated books you see talked about here.

Pinny
5dimes
Betjam
Bookmaker
Greek
Diamond
Legendz

None of these books have big sign up bouns'.  That's because they don't have to.  They give great lines, have great customer service and pay the money back in days not months.

What good does it do to have a 100% matching bonus if you have to wait months to get your money.   Don't be tempted by this crap.  It's like asking you if you want your money in Bank Of America or Joe's bank in that little wooden shack.

Week 2 2nd half plays.....tick, tock

Getting that time, looking at the Colts to make the adjustments.  May try to hit a 2nd half team total play.  But don't forget that the books love to juice the Colts.  It may be enough to make it a Vikes play

Week 2, NFL teasers...(1-1 -.3 YTD) Give me yours also

Well that just goes to show you about teasers.  The teaser that everyone was worried about Baltimore +7.5 won with ease and the teaser everyone loved, Colts -2 and Bolts -2.5 both lost.

Ya just never know.....

Got a chance to play a 3 team tease with a nice +180 payback.

Both games at Betjam.

3 team 6.5 pt teaser pays +160

Tenn +7.5
Minny +7.5
San Diego +7.5

2 team 6pt teaser pays -110

Giants -2
Pats +7.5

Don't sell the Pats short, you know who will have a very nice game plan in place.

Internet Explorer 8 beta now released to public

The first beta was only for developers, but after a number of updates and fixes, Microsoft is opening this new version to anyone.  So far it's looking quite good; stable and noticeably faster in many tasks than IE7, which is looking more than a little dated compared to the recently released Firefox 3.0. At first glance, IE8 doesn't look that much different, but does include a number of tweaks and updates, including:
Private Browsing - Curious about the darker sides of the 'Net? Don't worry, most of us are, and IE8 is the first browser to realize this, giving you a mode called "InPrivate" that doesn't track where you go in your history, doesn't keep cookies, and doesn't store auto-complete information. Accelerators - Highlight a word, and IE8 will display a button that will let you define it through Encarta. Highlight a street address, and you'll see an option to display the address on a map. Highlight words in a foreign language, and you can see a quick translation. There are lots of little context options like this, called accelerators, because they speed up the process of copying a line of text, opening a new browser window, and pasting it in somewhere to look it up. Visual Search - This is another area where sites will be able to insert themselves into your browser. Here you can define visual searches for things like eBay, enabling you to start typing your search into the IE8 search box and immediately get results and pictures from listings right through th... Logans, MinnesotaHomer needs your help. (Did you help ?)

People are getting tired of this.  Can you help you him out now?

I have pretty much had it here.

The people, (You know who you are) really need to take care of this.

This is my opinion and mine only. I don't represent any other mod or person that works for Sportsdirect Inc

This is beyond embarrassing and considering that Logans just advertises on Sportsdirect Inc. websites it makes it even worse

It's time to take out the trash.

Logans is ranked higher than 5Dimes.

4-9-2008 post season 1st round picks and futures

I've number crunched, looked into the souls of players and have come up with everything..........   For those interested and for those fading here they are for your viewing pleasure.   Series prices.   Rangers -120 Pens -260 Ducks -225 Caps -150   Eastern Conference winners   Rangers +450 Pens +200   To win the Stanley Cup   Ducks +700 Wings +300 (Yeah, covering my ass here)   You will notice I just skipped over the Western Conference winner since I think they will win the cup anyway.   I am laying some lumber on the series prices.  Honestly the Pens worry me a bit.  I'm not quite sure they have the experience for the playoffs yet.  I'm banking on that the kids don't know they are supposed to be nervous yet.   Really wanted the Habs, but I just can't pull the trigger on a series price that high. Hell the Pens are high enough.   And yes I will still be taking the big dogs in the first or first and second games. Looking for the split, then the favs kicking ass after that.   GL everyone   ...
