If you could bet any team to win the Super Bowl at double the odds who would you take?

As a long-time user of Logans Sportsbook I often enjoy the promotions they offer seasonally. They are offering double the odds on the Super Bowl winner if you bet before the regular season starts and I don't see how I can't give this a shot for a half unit or unit. I've never really been a huge futures guy, but given that the favorite Colts now sit at 14-1, i figure what the hell throw out a flyer.

I really like the teams in the AFC North this year, specifically Cincy and Baltimore to have a shot at making deep runs, and the Saints and Colts could make a repeat appearance in the big game.

Based on the odds and fun nature of this bet, I am leaning towards taking Cincinnati at 25-1 (which turns into 50-1) hoping that the T.O and Ocho show can diva their way all the way to the title...

So who would you take??

Double the odds?

How can you make money on this doing that?    Sounds like a scam to me.

Greyhound, no scam at all...i read the terms and conditions just now on it...you can only pick one team for this promotion and there are betting limits as well.

Do like the input though guys....Although dont think i can take the Rams golf...

I like your thoughts on the Bengals, Logans, but as a fan I do have high hopes for them and would love to see them win it all, but I think I would go with the Packers here. They got an explosive offense and some shut down corners that can lead the defense

If they're doubling the odds and they're actually going to pay you  , just about any team has value.

YOU NEED TO BET COLTS. COLTS WILL HAVE THE BEST RECORD AND HOMEFIELD. BALT HAS NO SECONDARY. COLTS AT 14-1 IS AMAZING!

Except teams that have no shot at all like St Louis.     That's just throwing your money away.

Ive seen a lot of people throughout forums liking the Colts, and at 14-1 i do agree that is quite good, but it is so tough to go to back-to back superbowls

Here are my four teams; one them will win SB this season:

1. Packers
2. New England
3. Ravens
4. San Francisco.
Picking these teams from my....roommate! he has crystal ball!

This is the only "rule" I don't like/trust:  Logans.com reserves the right to change the terms and conditions of this promotion at any time.

But...you have to go with 1 of 4 teams and consider 6 factors that rule out the rest:  QB, Defense, Coach, Running game, Schedule, and X-Factor(s)

1. Patriots (ex:  X-Factor is Wes Welker)
2. Ravens
3. Packers
4. Cowboys

BTW, Pats and Ravens are +1200 right now at most books.  Their will be more parody this year, although a lot of teams are starting new QB's and have shuffled their roster around quite a bit.  The Jets will be like the Yankees from a few years ago - full of all stars and talent but don't mesh.

Double isn't necesarily that good if the odds are not that good in the first place (these are not two way lines).  That said, you are going to get better "value" by "doubling" a low-odds team than a high-odds team.  The jump from 7-1 to 14-1 is much much bigger than is 25-1 to 50-1.  I hope people understand this concept.  If not, then enroll in remedial math and quit gambling until you understand.

Looking at their odds I'd probably go ahead and double New Orleans to 20-1.  Defending champs at 20-1?  Worth a shot.

they meshed fine last year and i doubt anyone on the defense not meshing with bart scott running the D

same on the O. mangold and ferguson run it. they will mesh fine

My only "to win the super bowl" bets are:

NE at 14-1
SD at 11-1
NO at 11-1
and my longshot, ATL at 25-1

GB has to be the favorite right now because of thier price. Top 5 offense and defense but I just don't see it in the cards.... not this year...

depeche, i completely understand your math concept of odds, and agree 100 %, but my thinking is i would rather take a team from the middle of the pack in 2009. the last three SB winners (New Orelans, Pitts and NYG) all had records of 8-8 or 10-6 the year prior to winning. Since this is just more of a fun type wager, i think its better to take a shot with a middle of the pack team here.

adistar....I like your thinking about considering the factors and such, but i dont agree with the Patriots at all, their window of opportunity is closing fast and i even have them as under 9.5/10 wins in a season win total bet.....

I am liking these comments on San Fran though, i think they run away with the NFC West and can shock some ppl in the playoffs like the Jets and Arizona have done in recent years...

First off all these small offshore books love to take your money. Maybe you've had a few payouts but i highly doubt you'll win anything at all. Just that small bet of a unit or whatever is going to equal easy big money for the book spread across the population. Im not trying to dog you man i think your better off betting as you've been. I know its only a few bucks but thats what they want you to think. Good luck either way

OAKLAND RAIDERS!!

Or the TITANS, they will go far this year, Indy will finish 3rd in the division behind the Titans and Texans
