Well, I didn't get to do my homework yesterday because how busy my schedule was, and I paid dearly for it with my first losing day of the month, going 2-5-1 -3.5 units
But today is a new day, and I had plenty of time last night and today to make some solid choices and do my homework.
3* Red Sox -1.5 +105 risking 3 to win 3.15:
Got this one last night, happy since the odd is -110 now I believe.
Not really a mystery play. Cleveland is only batting a mere .259 against righties and .253 in night games, whereas Boston is striping the ball and batting over .290 at home and against righties.
Bullpens will also factor in....Cleveland has an ugly BP road era of 6.35, while Boston's BP at home is lights out averaging an era of 1.80
This is also a large fade of Pavano....his ERA on the road is 7.08 and is a lifetime 1-3 against the Sox with an even higher 8.18 ERA and whip of almost 2 at 1.955
Throw in the fact that Boston is 16-7 against the Tribe at home over the last 3 seasons and we have all the makings of a rout tonight.
2* Rockies/Giants under 9.5 risking 2.2 to win 2:
Think this total is slightly to high...figured it would be 9 or 8.5.
SF is only batting .228 against righties an averaging only 3.1 runs against them.
Colorado also has struggles against Lefties, only averaging around .238 off them.
The Big Unit is hot right now, both the capper and the pitcher. He is 1.04 ERA over his last 3 starts. He loves pitching against the Rockies and has a lifetime 19-7 record with a 2.23 ERA and an outstanding whip of .900 The under is 18-9 in RJ's starts against the rockies
Jimenez has been struggling of late, but that's why I like this spot for him to pick it up. He is much better than he has been pitching, and is a career 1-2 against the Giants with a 2.65 ERA and whip of 1.045 which is also very impressive. The under is 5-1 in Jimenez's starts against the Giants.
Be back with more picks and writeups soon.
