Favre Back in NFL? You "Brett"er Believe it

When my phone was ringing at 7:30am this morning, I was ready to yell at my buddy for calling me so early. Then when he told me that my favorite team, the Minnesota Vikings were in the process of flying Brett Favre into town to sign the 39 year old QB, I was suddenly invigorated.

Now that the Vikings finally have a quarterback that they can count on, can the Vikings be counted on to be a legitimate Super Bowl contender? The answer is an emphatic "Yes".

By inking Favre, the Vikings will now find themselves as a slight favorite to win the NFC North. Before today's news, the division was considered a three-team race between Minnesota, Chicago, and Green Bay.
In fact, many people liked Chicago or Green Bay to finish ahead of the Vikes because they had much more talent at the quarterback position. I am amazed that Tavaris Jackson is still getting a chance to be a starting quarterback.

How much grooming does this kid need?

Jackson showed what he was all about in last year's playoff game against Philadelphia, when he was too afraid to throw the ball downfield and would time-after-time settle for the short pass instead.

Sage Rosenfels was likely not going to be the answer either. He has bounced around four different teams now, and has 30 lifetime touchdown passes and 29 Interceptions. Not exactly a stellar ratio here.

If anything, the most recent news about Favre will not only be a good thing for the Vikings, it will be a good thing for the NFL as well. The league just got a little more interesting and a little more competitive at the same time.

Who's ready for some football?

All it takes is one big shot at him and his rotator cuff is fucked up again

He's never had a rotator cuff problem.  You're dumb.

...will we see the same Favre that we've seen the past few years. A gun slinging TD maniac in the first half of the season. Last qtr he begins to tire and the int's begin to appear. Late in the season he starts losing focus (tiring) and int's begin to mount?

He's a class act and a legend and I hope he does great, I just hope he composes himself for the full year as he's always played great in Min.

I know that Favre is an upgrade over anything else the Vikings have. I believe he is a

monster upgrade if he plays within the Vikings system. Problem is, he tends to wing the ball all over the place and turnovers ensue. He will be more likely to give games away then allow Peterson and Co. to win them. Don't count on Favre being reigned in, the Vikings are poorly coached.....

Yes he did. He was complaining last year that his shoulder had pain in it. Than he goes and tears his bicep..bicep tears and rotator cuffs go hand in hand. Please dont argue my kinesiology degree.

epetitive overhead lifting in front of the body puts a special strain onto the biceps tendon

where the long head tendon inserts into the rotator cuff. Everything

that was said above about "shoulder impingement", "rotator cuff

tendinitis" and "rotator cuff tear" is applicable here.

Renowned orthopedist Dr. James Andrews found a small tear in Favre’s

rotator cuff when he did surgery earlier in the offseason to release a

tendon that was causing pain in
Favre’s arm

and im dumb right?

I stand corrected.  They never did surgery on his rotator cuff, though.  And you are right, it could flair up again.  But so far, it hasn't given him any problems.  I was wrong.  I am dumb.  But I still think it was the right move by MN...he's better then anything they have.

Actually your a dork but who's counting..

Favre is great for the NFL, he gets pppl talking about the game. Hearing this news makes me excited for the NFL season to begin!

On the field, I feel hes a cancer. He was lucky as shit in the first half of last year, he threw some shit passes that shouldnt have been been thrown! Injury or healthy, his brain is stil the same! That first game hail mary as he was in the graps of the Miami defender that went for a td was idiotic yet it came down as a td throw! Hes always been a risk taker and with this ball control offense and stout defense, hell demoralise the team with his antics on the field! Especially coming in late like this will divide the locker room! I thought Washington contributed a hell of a lot more than Favre ever did on the Jets.

Cant wait to fade this guy! Lines will be inflated of course!

not sure if the spread will change that much but the o/u definitely will be over inflated...

the problem is that with all his interceptions, I think I just lost some values now.
