Ridiculous, he is a clutch player and can hit big shots in the dying moments but i dont know if he is the best, and definitely not the best of all time (Jordan, Bird, list goes on, he doesnt make top 10) ... Look at what he did last year vs Boston, they lost a couple close games to Boston. The biggest thing that shows he is not the greatest at closing out games is how his team lost a 24pt lead at home mind you in game 4 of last years finals. If you cant get your team to close out a must win (they were down 2-1 in the series)  at home with a 24pt lead then you got problems, that is the 1st time ever i think that a team blew that kind of lead in the playoffs at home, kobe went 6 of 19 from the field for 17points that crucial game...Kobe has 3 championships but shaq got the MVP in each of those im pretty sure..Kobe is a great player but lets not put him in the likes of the best closers of all time.

just cause he didn't close in Boston doesn't mean he isn't one of the best closers. No player can do it every game

are you kidding Kobe is one of the best closers of all time... How many times has he willed his team to victory on the offense and the defensive end this blog is way off you used a couple of games for examples I could do the same thing on Jordan and Bird and you cant name ten better closers than Kobe because there arent any....Must be a Lebron fan or you bet on the magic. The Black Mamba is the best closer there is!!!!!!

I agree . The problem with Kobe is he's a low percentage shooter and has been his entire carrear.

Everyone remembers when Kobe knocks down a last second shot but they forget all his misses and he leads the league in last second misses the last 5 years.

Looking at the facts, not opinions or perception, on last possesion shots when the team with the ball is tied or trails by 1 or 2 points, Kobe's field goal percentage ranks a very pathetcally poor 71st in the league last 5 years, those are the facts, can't be the best closer with rankings like this.

In the last 5 minutes of closes games Kobe's field goal percentage goes down when compared to his regular season average, Lebron's field goal percentage goes way, way up in this same spot.

The facts speak for themselves, Kobe as the best closer is far more perception or myth than reality.

Yo people... a closer in basketball?.. WTF?

No such animal.

You are either clutch or you're not. Kobe is clutch... ya'll sound like a bunch of malcontents.

Don't get caught up in the hyperbole... best closer ever is Rivera, or Eckersley, or Gagne in his prime back in day. There are no CLOSERS in B-ball, that's just what ESPN says... drivel.
