It was a must trade for the Clips

IF this isn't a great trade by the Clippers, then it is definitely a very good one...

I'm sure a lot of you die hards have heard this a million times, usually the team that gets the best player(in his prime) gets the better of the deal, usually 3 for 1 or 4 for 1 or whatever.. And that is the case here, i really do believe this...

Yes it would of been much better obviously if the Clips didn't give up Gordon who is a young talented player but still...

They get Paul, a future hall of famer in his prime for 2 years and after that im pretty sure they will convince him to play because Paul will have a lot of fun throwing lobs to griffin and DeAndre jordan all game long. And no one throws better lobs than paul. Chandler made a living off those lobs when he was in New Orleans..

So they lose Gordon (very talented but slightly undersized  at 6'3 SG), they lose Kaman (injury prone, getting old, and would not of been happy coming off the bench to Jordan), they lose Aminu (no big loss here), and they lose a very good draft pick (you never know who you will get in the draft, this is an unknown even top 3 picks can end up being a huge bust, we dont even know if this would be a top 2 or 3 pick)

In return clips get Paul.. Like i said, this guy is a super talent, a proven top 2/3 PG in this league for many years now... If anyone saw those playoff games vs the Lakers last year, that alone would show you how this guy can dominate a game... He is a future hall of famer in his prime..

Again, yes i know it seems like the Clippers gave up a lot losing jordan and that pick but fuck, this is a no brainer to me...

A great PG for the future, and just like what people say about the NFL (QB driven league) the NBA has turned into a PG driven league. And that is not just my opinion. That is what ive heard over and over again from commentaters, nba analysts and so on, yes they are sometimes wrong but i really do believe the PG position then very close the Center position are the two most important positions in the league.

Only time will tell for sure what happens.. Clippers still need a SG but their team looks pretty impressive right now.  With this trade they are at least a playoff team and then in a year they might even go further than the 1st round.. w/o this trade im not sure the clips make the playoffs..

So lets just enjoy this, this team will be a lot of fun to watch. They already were of course but with Paul throwing lobs left right and center to those two freak athletes in Griffin and Jordan, sky is the limit..

I cant believe im saying this but i cant wait to see the Clippers this season... I wont jump on the bandwagon though, i still love my celtics and unfortunately i am still a Rapts fan(that will never change) but fuck, Clippers might now be the most exciting team to watch. At least top 3....

yeah that is true but if necessary Mo Wil and Billups can play that SG position, its not their natural spot but we both know those guys love and can actually shoot lol. Mo wil played some SG with other teams he has been with, and Billups i feel is big enough to play SG as well.. Bledsoe cant though lol. He is too small and just a young fella..

OR maybe a trade?? I can definitely see a trade happening.. a more traditional SG would obviously help. Clips cannot trade Billups under the amnesty clause but Mo Wil, Bledsoe among others im pretty sure are fair game..

Gordon aint chopped liver.  22 and change along with almost 5 dimes last year.  Kaman is certainly serviceable if healthy and he is only 29.  An old 29 for sure.

Aminu was the 8th overall pick.  Can't say he is a bust yet.

So they get a very good combo. guard in Gordon.  The 8th overall pick from last year, and possibly a top 3 pick next year which could be Barnes, Sullinger, Drummond, or A. Davis.....I like the chances of those guys becoming very good players.

I think the Clips had to do the deal, but the Hornets made out much better than the deal they were talking about with Houston/LA.  At least it gives them some hope for the future.

False Information? It is a certainty the Hornets are getting a top pick, this is the NBA we are talking about. There's not a chance it won't end up being a top pick.. What are you talking about?

If the Wolves make the playoffs, it's not even a lottery pick.  You're going by how bad you THINK the Wolves will be this year.  It could happen where they make a good sized leap.  They added Williams and Rubio and Barea (spelling).  Love lost a lot of weight and will be quicker.  They added B. Miller as well who knows Adelman's system upside down.  Adelman says he is coaching to win, not to develop.

You never know what could happen.  That's just fact.  Could be top 3.  Could be 5-8.  MN's lottery luck has consistently SUCKED.

The balls usually bounce the right way as far as the NBA is concerned..

Chandler made a living off those lobs when he was in New Orleans..

This is a very good point.  David West also made a living because of Paul's work.  Will be a similar set up with Jordan and an even more explosive player in Griffin.

you said in your post and i quote "They made a stupid move giving up an emerging player in Eric Gordon, a top 2 pick, and their best post player.."

So yes, posting they traded a top 2 pick is false... If any writer wrote that up in a sports column, they would get blasted lol.  Obviously this isnt espn sports but i simply stated that u were making up shit which is true. You dont know if it will be a top 2 pick, you speculated..

exactly...

Essentially the trade was Eric Gordan for Chris Paul. If im the LAC I take that any day of the week. Chris Kaman is an after thought, who the hell cares about the draft pick, and half the people in this nba forum have probably never even heard of an Aminu.

Dont get why it is so hard for people to understand that Billups and Williams will be playing off guard. I think Williams is god awful but he can shoot and should be a decent contributor. Chauncey is big, can shoot, and can match up with most 2's in the league.

i watched the clippers last night, yes it is only pre-season but lakers and clips both had their starters in there for a lot of time in the first half (i didnt watch 2nd half) and the clips looked pretty good...

i agree with your article. you give up whatever you can for a hall of fame point guard. they get bill ups off wavers. like miami early last year, it will take time for them to blend. eric gordan has huge thighs and pulls muscles all the time! If Clips can get a big man to come off the bench, a solid journeyman, they'd be in an even better spot.

Clips looking good so far even though they lost a game they could of easily won last night... fuckk, they had the lead for 90% of the game but the last 2 mins they kindof crumbled a bit.
