I have never been so excited about an upcoming football season as I am this year. I think the Eagle's will far excede expectations. It's bigger than Kolb in for McNabb. I was a fan of McNabb but it got to the point where right or wrong, a change needed to be made. Kolb has his teammates on his sides and that's big. You could tell last year that recievers were running their patterns diff. expecting an off throw by Mcnabb. Kolb has a quicker release and will get the playmakers the ball faster and let them make their moves. Watching every game last year I would say atleast 3 plays a game McNabb would throw the ball 3-4 steps late in the pattern.
Offense: I already commented on Kolb, but to round it out on him I think he will be solid and have a better than good year. I'm not sold on Shady McCoy but I think he will be ok and I'm hoping Bell/Buckley will be a decent back up combo. Their WR corp is very good. Jackson is one of the top 5 playmakers in all of football. Maclin will benefit from a quicker ball and more time to work the open field, Avant is strong on 3rd down with his great hands, and Cooper will be a suprise this year. Celek is a Star at TE and will be looked for a lot by Kolb. Their line should be avg. and will handle their own barring inj. Overall I feel that the Birds will have one of the top 10 Off. this year.
Shot in the dark: Vick should have a better yr. and could account for 2 wins this year.
Defense: SPEED!!!!! I love this D. Their D line should be much improved. I know their worst prob. last year was the run but they should be much better against that mainly because of their LB corp. Against the pass they should be relentless. They will bring in 3 DE's on 3rd downs or 2nd and long and also they should get a LOT more out of Laws this year. Graham will have a major impact this year and I project 10 sacks from him. The Giants made their march to the Super Bowl with that 3 DE line. Cole will be his solid self and should get some relief this year and will end up with more in the tank at the end of the season. Last year he wore down some. The ACL inj for Bradley was bad but the timing couldn't have been better. He is fully recovered and hungrier than ever. He will be a MAJOR fill in in the middle. I love the aquisition of Sims. He is only a few years removed from 120+ tackle season and he is excited to play in this type of system. I think Jordan will round out the 3. He played well last year and will benefit from the other 2 he's with this year. The DB's could be questionable. Obviously Allen is a rookie and will go through some growing pains, but I think he along with Hobbs and Samuel will benefit from the 7 in front of them.
X-Factor: Def is top 3 in turnovers and sacks.
I think the Eagles benefit from having GB, IND, ATL, and MINN @ home and I feel they should win 3/4. Luckily MINN is late in the season and it has shown the past 2 years that Favre has worn down some. SF, TENN, and even CHI should be tough rd games but the Eagles should win 2/3 of them. We all know the Eagles have their game that they should never lose and they lose and games they are expected to lose and they win. Dal will be very good this year but I think the Birds can split with them. At worst the Eagles should be 10-6 but I think they will end up 11-5. Feel free to comment whether negative or positive. I'm not an expert, but I've been on this site for the past 3 years and just wanted to post.
