I was looking at all the NFL depth charts today and when I got to them I thought "this team really doesnt look that bad"
If Fitzpatrick is good I think they have some offense. They have good LBs and I like their secondary
They wont win that division but to me they look like a pretty good team. Catching points from teams I think I will be on them early in the year

Yeah Rafalski and Parise and Langenbrunner had nothing to do with the win and they were all terrible. What a f*cking idiot
While most everyone around Team USA is celebrating Sunday's win over Canada, GM Brian Burke has thrown cold water on the "Minor Miracle on Ice."
"I'm not happy with the way we played,'' Burke told SeattlePI.com. "If that's how we play, we're going to have a hard time getting where we want to be."
Goaltender Ryan Miller made 42 saves in the 5-3 win over Canada that gave the USA the top seed in the single-elimination medal tournament.
"Except
for the goaltender position, we did not deserve it," Burke said. "But
that's why we brought him. That's not going to work in the next round.
We know it.''
Team USA will play the winner of the Belarus-Switzerland qualifying game.
"I am not pleased with how we played to this point," Burke said. "Unless we crank it up, this will all be for naught.''

I know this is a gambling forum but every Friday they have shows where they count down the top 10 in certain categories
Best SB Performances
Snakebitten Franchises
colla[ses
Gunslingers
Power Backs
Hands
Linebacking Corps
and many others
They are fun shows, I dont agree with some of them (like leaving Elway opff the Gunslinger list?) but I was curious if anyone else watches them. Maybe each week we post the topic and discuss em...or not

besides the Gambling
They allow every 2 but thug criminal into the league and then read this piece on how they extort the fans
THERE is no rise in unem ployment, no hard times, no worries. What reces sion? In fact, things have never been better. There's no better time for a big league team owner to continue to act on the conditioned notion that the only patrons worth having are the wealthy foolish. Everyone else can get lost, and stay there.
And, as always, it sure helps if the commissioner of your sport actually serves as your CFO/agent/rubber stamp, a fellow happy to enable you to do anything in the pursuit of money.
There's really no great difference between Bud Selig and Roger Goodell. Both have demonstrated, through countless look-away passes, that the "steal sign" is always on, no need to step out of the box to look down for signals.
The Kansas City Chiefs this week announced that those wishing to purchase single-game tickets to the team's biggest-draw home games this season -- against the Cowboys and Steelers -- must be victims of an extortion. They must buy an equal number of same-priced tickets to one of the Chiefs' two preseason home "games," one against the Seahawks, the other against the Texans.
None of the Chiefs' six other home games will be attached to such a fleecing.
In other words, for two regular-season games the Chiefs are charging double. And that's cool with Commissioner Goodell. Yep, if the... [More]

I know for college we all buy the Phil Steele one
for the NFL there are tons of them and I used to buy all of them now i just buy one
The
Pro Football Weekly preview. they have the depth charts for each team (not just the rosters), good schedules, good writeups for each team by position, they also have the game by game stats log for every game. pretty handy for both handicapping and then even if you do fantasy football. Also they have a code on there for free online access to a couple of early season issues. For me it is better than the Sporting News one which I also like (i buy their NHL and MLB preview)
well worth the 6.99
Which one (s) do you guys buy?

Is anyone out there, smarter than me, doing this?
I was tempted to do this before the season and amazingly they went over in 8 of their 1st 9 but now they sit at 28-34-7 meaning that since that start they have gone 20 overs 33 unders with 7 pushes
I am always afraid to jump in and do this because i know once I do they will go over about 8 times in a row
anyone?
I know someone else in here started a similar Indians over thread a week or so ago

You Pens and Wings fans mustve had f'n heart attacks
I must admit rooting for the Pens and my brother...who was about to be handed the cup til they cut to the Mario interview

3-1 since I have stopped betting...to be fair I would not have laid the juice on Det-Bos, probably just done a 2 teamer that day
1-1 -.9 last night Pit- Chi I am stunned Washington didnt get buried in that game.
Those were some good games...a little too much scoring for my liking but fun games
Canes E... The way I look at this game is that they were up 3-1 , got the Bruins best effort last game and now they come home and clinch it. Boston did look goos though. Chara was a beast and the forwards did what they hadnt done all series. I just think back at home with that crowd the Canes advance.
Red WIngs -150... You could make a case that they should have won all 5 games. Hiller goes down more than women in porn. Also seems to allow as many things between his legs. I think he has been solved. May not be a blow out byut on the road I think the Wings get the job done and advance

Ok we got that out of the way so you dont have to post it in your replies. I have a facebook account so one of my friends from high school is buddies on there with Chico Resch (the actual Chico Resch) So I click on his freinds and he has Sergei Brylin, Marty Biron, pretty funny though when you keep clicking on the friends of these players to see what players are actually on there and not just made up fan sites of the guys
Like Alex Burrows is there
Cal Clutterbuck
Leafs fans you can be buddies with Vesa Toskala and Justin Pogge
Marty Biron is there and his friends include Malkin and Ovechkin..and OVs photo is of him at the draft with Malkin
I just found it funny as to how many guys have accounts..Ryan Callahan
Maybe I should send a friend request to Eric Staal

1st off the Devils will be much better than the "experts" think. getting Rolston is huge, they have a good #1 line now. Rolston between Gionta and Elias is a terrific line. The #2 line is solid with Parise,Zajac and Langenbrunner. the 3rd line is always the Madden line with Pandolfo and Zubrus or whoever they to put there (atleast Zubrus wont be centering 1 of the top 2 lines this year)
a big 4th line with Rupp , holik etc.
Rolston helps the PP immensely
Also on D they have young guys but they will be a year better. Martin, Oduya,Greene. Mottau isnt young but he will be pretty good. Savador and White are the vets. Salmela made the team hoepfully he is as good as the last Dman they got who was playing in Europe (Rafalski)
In goal Brodeur will be Brodeur and hopefully will not suck in the playoffs I really think a run at cup 4 is possible, I did not think this last year
REST OF THE LEAGUE
better than expected teams for me (bet the early before people figure this out) ...my top 2 in this category are Bruins and Oilers others that fall into this category for me are the Canes, Kings, and Senators
overrated (bet against them before people figure it out) Penguins , i d ont see how you lose 6 forwards 2 big Dmen and think that Satan and Fedotenko will replace all that. Flyers- Marty Biron really? I think he had his year last year. Lightning but i think most people in here know they arent going to be good and for some reason people a...
