POD: Nuggets -7 series looks like it's going 7games to me. Nuggets are going through tough times but they havn't collapsed...yet. It's very difficult to beat and cover against a team 3 games in a row..
TWO*TEAMER Hawks -9. this game worries me because the Bucks now know the Hawks just are not that great a team and (2) the Hawks don't have a super*star, don't let us lose player and (3) the Hawks home support is, at times, tepid.
But linesmakers had enough confidence in them to start them off at 8 points.

Before the smell of blood and gunpowder leaves the air, take a whiff and then tell me in a few words,why you come to this forum.
Is it the picks? Or do you enjoy broader exchange of ideas and concepts.
In either case, if the people post here frequently are nasty, does it make it more likely that you'll post something? In other words, is it a fearsome thing to be wrong?

Know: 216.5 is very high total for Utah venue which usually sees lower scores than when these two teams play in Denver. 215.5 in January of 2009 was the most recent total close to 216.5. That was in Denver.
But look at these strong under trends for this game (and, oh yes, try to forget they've just scored 464 points in 2 games.)
UTAH Jazz:
3-13 O/U as GAME THREE favorites... including a perfect 0-8 O/U when the OU line is 191 > points...
0-3 O/U in the NBA Playoffs when the OU line is 215 > points...

.POD: CAVS-4. I believe the Bulls will be swept. Cavs' players who didn't play particularly well in game 2--(like Shaq, Mo Wms.) will cycle up today. Deng may find it difficult to have two good games in a row. Low spreads like this require made free throws, and that's a big hole in D. Rose's game.
TWO*TEAMER: T'Blazers get my nod here. Word came today that if the Blazers survive this first series, they get Brandon Roy back. That's got to be cheering!

POD: CAVS -10.5 Cavs could have played better in game #1. I keep thinking of Noah's intentional foul on Shaq: eyes squeezed shut, teeth clenched in a grimace. He seemed to be praying: "please God please!". Cavs have true options and fouls, fouls, fouls to give.
TWO*TEAMER: a little tougher: Denver -7. Okur's injury is a basketball shame. But this is the playoffs: Take it right down the middle where he used to be standing, altering shots.

and the Nuggets are going nowhere. I've been coming down on Dantley, now I think all of the bench suits are non-functioning.
Look at the players shooting 3 pointers when they ought to be running that ball through the paint. When they start to miss jumpshots, when they cool off, the lead will go right out the window and Jazz will be right back in the game.
They ought to be leading by at least 10.
With Karl's absence they have lost their defensive tone and overall focus. They are quite undisciplined. After the Jazz eliminates the Nuggets and Karl comes back, heads ought to roll amoung the assistant coaches.

I'm late to the party I found that I could bet neither the Heat nor the Celts at half. The line was Celts -4.5.
I only had the Nuggets on a teaser parlay. But the price on a straight bet had risen to Nuggets-6. Hmmm.....I want 6 to be the point that my bet wins so I bought a half point for a 1 unit play. I won't get paid as much but I'm in the same pool with the people who took the Nuggets at -5 or -5.5, provided they outscore the Jazz by 6.
What do you think? After all the misplays and disappointment of the laast month, will the Nuggets finally do the right thing??

Celtics -4. the spot for this game is just too perfect. Luck will smile on side and rain clouds will drench the other.
Experience: advantage Celtics. That is the way they win and cover this game. Simply put. They can't physically force anything because of stamina issues, BUT THEY CAN MAKE FEWER MISTAKES.
I'm betting the Celts, but I want to be sedated.
Mission: get a big enough lead that can't be cancelled by two quick 3s at the end.

No I don't mean Homer Simpson, I mean one who can't see his hometown sportsteams in the right perspective.
My POD today is the Cavs -11.5 because I believe the lead will be around 20 when they stop pounding on the Bulls (tired fists and arms). This is the playoffs, not regular season. The idea is to punch out your opponent physically and mentally. Make them quit in their own minds. Cavs got defense and too many offensive options. Bulls will go as their outside shooting goes...no fast break points. period.
I'm going 2.5 units here and this game is the only thing happening today. (well...not counting my daily-doubles and my partner's baseball picks and maybe a shekel or two on the Denver game.)

Unofficial also likes Hawks-8.5 over my beloved Bucks and Celtics -4 over the Heat.

Turn your 3-teamer into a 4 teamer by bettting it twice once with the bottom team going over and once with the bottom team going under. You are risking an extra unit but 3 teamers pay 6 to 1 and 4 teamers pay teamers pay 11 to 1. Wherever you are, do the arithmatic. It's worth the money.
Try to apply the concept everywhere you can but the most important thing are the picks. Take your time: study head-to-head,

Now that the Bulls game is half over (-2.5 2nd half here) , do you have any regrets on the way you approached the game to bet it.
Me, personally, I'm glad I thought KG wasn't playing. And I'm glad I was wrong about Boston's palyoff prospects.
I may not have been brave enough to bet the Bulls. The Bulls players seem to know that del Negro is getting screwed and they side with him.
The Utah game: no second thoughts. I think Utah will take no prisoners tonight.
Same in LA, I think the Kings go all out to make a season statement versus the Lakers.

POD: Bulls -5 over Celtics. KG not playing is my understanding. Celtics can't gain position or lose position by winning/losing so why not rest the big man? Bulls have got to win this and then get some help from the Knix in Toronto to make the playoffs, (ahem! save del Negro's job...or leave him looking like a desirable hire.)
