POD: Nets +8 Devin Harris isn't totally healthy to oppose Rondo, who is becoming a premier Eastern division point guard, but he will get the job done. What I see really helping the Nets is that this is a really big game to them with a little revenge thrown in at home. No KG. No Rasheed. The money line is a glittering +320 and teaser possibilities seem abounding. You may disagree but give this game an extra look-see.

Here are some sides ( unresearched) that I would consider:
first my Hilton 3-teamer:
Jazz -7.5 Heat are a thready team and here the oddsmakers expect a strong Jazz performance: go with the o m's.
Nuggets 13.5 it's a weekday and the Nuggets have their people back going against a team that has actually gotten worse since the beginning of the season. Nuggets 2nd line:Smith, Anderson, Lawson, et all will take of the spread.
Warriors +3 in the 1st half against the Cavs. This is the kind of game the Warriors love. They lost and covered against of the Cavs
In Cleveland, now they get to throw the kitchen sink at them and have the fans too. (Kind of like a college game experience.)

take a look at the Raptors whipping up on the Pacers and the 76ers sucker punching the Hornets.
A most interesting game will be the Thunder at home to the Knicks. I think it will a reprise of the Knicks experience in Houston or maybe the Grizzlies in Charlotte. Luv the resilient Knicks but the west is still a little bit better than the east.

Revenge is the key to this game as the Celts have gotten the twice from the Hawks and will die trying to send one back today. Hawks are a better first quarter team (but don't bet that today.)
I expect the Celts to stabilize the game and begin to deliver a pounding well before the half.

Sorry for the rushed appearance of things but that's just the way it is. Without too much study I can confidently name my POD as

Now who's gonna jump whom in the 1st quarter??? The Nets keep edging toward respectability to match their new find health. They will start taking a few scalps pretty soon.

Nets +7 or 7.5 1/2 vs Hawks
if I don't change my mind. I know the Hawks want to spit the taste of defeat from their mouths but the Nets are not as bad their 3 win season makes them look. And the Hawks are not nearly as good as their record makes them look: Bibby, Horford, Johnson, Smith Crawford are not super stars. They're very good role players when they play together. The Cavs exposed them badlyand since then, the wheels have come off.
KIKI VW is huffing this young team full of badly needed heart and
character. It is not going to be evident everyday.
This is a must, turn-around game for the Hawks. If they can't smash the Nets tonight, they will have been thoroughly exposed.
Yeah, I'm a Cavs man but I bet against them often. And my money goes against the Hawks tonight. This spread, +13.5 is ridiculous. Unless the oddsmakers have some mafia-quality information that the general public doesn't, this is where I stand.
Speaking of the Cavs, I lov'em but they are not 14 points better than the Wiz. Take the Wiz in the first half.
I'll be looking all over for the oddsmakers' rationale before my final declaration but until I find it, my advice is get in early on the halves before the spread shrinks.

Tuesday POD: Bulls+6 'Cats have been in a better groove longer. But the Bulls are not doing 1st game home on a high from beating one of the league elites. They'll make use of the +6 for a cover. NO Tyson Chandler which crimps the Cats' rebounding, defense and rotation. Remember they got off to a hot start against the Thunder before losing control. A hot start is very important in what will probably bea low scoring game.

Will update record a little later: Truth is, I don't really like anybody to absolutely cover in this position. This is about who do I trust most. Therefore:
Monday POD: Hawks-1.5
I don't like small lays under 3 points because often there is a message in them from the oddsmakers who've got their job to do and a nasty surprise when you think you've gotten the favorite cheap. Memorize this: A true favorite is never cheap.
Memorize this too: When the favorite has nothing to do, the favorite don't do nothing. So this is a tricky situation today.
No other sides today but try my teaser in your favorite point amount:
261 Boise State +7.5 or 8
501 Hawks-1.5
507 Blazers +4 (what up with that????)
506 Jazz -8 ( they are only slightly better than the Hornets and they need a get-on-the-goodfoot win. Covering the 8pts. depends a bit on a Hornet (not a good road team) collapse.
507 Charleston +14.5 home, playing No. Carolina
526 La. Tech -2.5 home to Utah State
