Hi, just completing an annoying ly busy holiday. I'm 2-2 with my latest PODs so let's break the tie with a winner.
Saturday POD: Hawks-6.5

other Sides:
Jazz-7 over the 76ers. the Sixers horse will rise in just a little while with the returns of Marrese Speights and Lou Williams.
The team is now full of scoring options but defensively undisciplined. Question: are there enough basketballs in play at a time to keep them happy? Eddy Jordan will crack down and some talented people are going to sit or hide out on the hurt list. Watch the 76ers for lots of interesting story lines in the next few weeks.
Suns-3 over the Warriors. Pretty much a must win for the Suns as there stock is falling. I've got this game going over 234.
Play money lines a little more this weekend. Pacers, Bulls, Bobcats, Kings seem to me to be potential upsetters. Forget the elite team worship that goes on the media. In the NBA, the bottom is not that far from the top in potency, regardless of W-L to date.

I have believed the Lakers would beat my beloved Cavs in this game since the schedule came out. I havn't changed my mind.
In a 3 pointer game this 51-42 lead can disappear >poof< in three possesions.
My bet is Lakers and the over as the tempo goes up. My 3's. More long passes. More fast breaks...to nullify Cavs great penetration. Cavs gotta keep a real cool tool to win.

A win with the Pacers 1st half felt nice after nthat scandalous Bulls lost the other day. Today, Ifeel the best offering is the Nuggets -4. At home facing a Hawks team they owe a little something to on the 3rd game of the Hawks roadtrip at a reasonable number is a nice setup. Chauncey's sore groin won't stop Nuggets' cover.

The mavs were doing alright with a 6 or 7 point lead. Now the Blazers have them down 83-75 as Mavs have been outscored
in the 4th quarter 25-11.
How about some fundamental basketball???

Suns -10.5 I'm getting mixed signals from the Wizards, to the effect that some players are thinking more about free agency next year than a team pursuit of the crown this year. Sad. I'm just not seeing night-in night-out commitment here and the Suns are a hardnosed BB team that doesn't lose at home.

Bucks-9 why not cover the whole game.
T'Wolves +1.5.No Kevin Martin and the Wolves want revenge that asskicking they took a few games ago.
Knix -1.5 Clips good against the Knix and Knix are b2b but they have that defensive groove
Thunder -5 No Hamilton, no Gordon and tyhis is that jinky 3rd game of the roadtrip.
Wiz+3 another roadtrip 3rd game but the Wiz have 6 straight losses If they want a win on this trip they better get it here.
Mavs-5 nice number. the Rockets want revenge for 2 asskickings
and bring the Xfactor, Mavs killer, T. Mc Grady. The Mavs are in a good defensive groove.

I monitor Mr. Zamboni, target_9 and Johnnypicks but what I'd really like to have recommended is a capper whose more likely to put underdogs in his picks list.
Do you know of such a capper on this site or some other.

Yeah, I know this is hoops sports picks forum but I need a couple of suggestions. That is, will you kindly suggest a few cappers from the hockey forum that I can begin following.
I am aware of Mr. Zamboni, target_9 and King Kappy128 (last two post hoops also.) But who am I missing?

The Pacers are up 14 on my POD but they've been known to fade 2nd half. At some point I believe they will miss Danny Grangers's fire power. The line is Wizards -7.5 which shows the line maker is thinkin' what I'm thinkin' (don't say he thinks I'm a sucker!) I'm winning both the game and 2nd half bets.

did you notice what happened to the two

and outrageous fortune it was in the NBA last night. The Kings, getting 7.5 points up one point with 3 minutes to go in the first half. We took eyes off this, thinking we had the money. We were shocked when we turned around to see the Spurs had taken the first half by nine points. The Spurs had scored the last 10 points of the half. There was anger and outrage in the sportsbook as the money was lapped up. I know no-one who played the Spur's side.

Oh, that Cavs non-cover hurt last night, I'm rejoining the competition chastened and a little wiser (I hope): the teams that are building for future playoff success really go after today's elite teams. Blazers-3 First game of the road trip, the Blazers will be ok. The Knicks are playing the kind of ball the Blazers have lapsed into. They just have way more talent than the Knicks I believe the sudden loss of Oden will draw them together for awhile.

The no lose POD streak came to a halt after 7 days. Officially, it went: win win win push win win win loss. I hope to start another today.
What happened to the Bulls yesterday is what I foresaw for the Raptors. Even after halftime the beat down continued.
Why do teams go flat? There are a variety of reasons. I try to look out for teams coming off real high experiences who are in a physically drained situation. But the Raptors were up to the challenge. Hat's off to them.
I was right about the TimberWolves and the Kings so my fragile ego quivers on.

Only one favorite covered in the NBA yesterday: the lowly LA Clippers! I tell you sincerely, keep your tickets short and watch out for the whacky weekends in the NBA.
This is the 3rd weekend in a row where neither the Blazers nor the Nuggets covered.
The Heat lost two emotional Olympian (Olympians hatre to lose to each other) hook-ups in Denver and LA. This is the 4th game of bruising roadtrip. The Heat could lose tonight.
