Congrats Derek on #3,000. I was at the game today and let me say it was the most unbelievable experience of my life. 2 months ago I got my dad, sister, and brother tickets for this game not knowing that Jeter would be going for the milestone on this same day. When Jeter went on the DL in mid-June and his timetable for returning was early July I thought to myself omg we might actually get to see Derek get #3,000. After the ppd last night I had a gut feeling that today was the day he was going to do it, and boy he did not disappoint. A 5-5 day and getting the game winning hit in the 8th inning, you couldn't write a better script then this. I am 31 now and when Derek hit the HR I felt like a little boy again going to games every year with my dad, bro, and sis. Congrats once again Derek and I hope you stick around long enough to get #4,000.
