This thread begins with my 2016th post,
which comes on Saturday, 28th of May,

It will be a placemarker of sorts.

I will pick OKC in both halfs, and also
for the game, -4.5 to get a + return.

What D. Rose, J. Cutler, & R. Emanuel share

Harbor for sports sorts of Humor

A blind sports reporter edged his way closer thru the locker-room,
then suddenly whipped out his microphone upon hearing Kareem's voice, who didn't see him, and backed right into the blind guy's mike:
Karreem's known to never have jumped any higher.

Umps' Thumps

Interested in compiling particular stats for Umpires in MLB.
Ump against each team: Called [i.e., 'caught-looking'] Vs.Swinging Strikeouts
Even more telling, a game's above totals, i.e., Team Vs. Team thru the Ump's eyes.

These figures are thee most telling for wagering purposes. However, without bicorporeality, it'll take collaboration, for these stats are nowher to be found; hence this "plea thread."

For instance, the NBA having 3 (or 4 for playoffs) Refs to dish out Home-cooking, it's difficult to gauge built-in bias, as compared to the MLB that has that good ol' Home Plate Umpire who can impact the Game's result unlike any other sport; and the Called Vs. Swinging S.O.'s tell the tale very well evidently - but these stats are not kept, save those at the park and/or working for/with MLB.
Yeah buddy, the fix is in indeed.

MLB pups special

Bet MLB-dogs

'GameHunter' Excerpts:
Unique b/c gap twain the best & worst teams is close --

Take 2009:  NFL season saw Colts were 14-2 winning 87.5% won games; Rams at 1-15, won 6.25%.
NBA: Clev 47-14 won 77% & Lakers were 45-15 = 75% W%age; worst in NBA = Nets at 6-53 = 10.2%.?
In NCAAB, Kansas, Syr & Kentucky each went 27-2 =93.1% W%age; “Board” team w/ worst record Marist at 1-28 =3.4%.?
In NCAAFl, 'bama &Boise St. both finished undefeated at 14-0 = 100%; E. Mich & W. Kentucky ea. winless 0-12 = 0%

For example, the 2009 MLB season was a typical season:
NYY had best record 103-59 (63.6%), LAA 2nd best at 97-65 (59.9%).
The 2 worst teams were the Wash at 59-103 (36.4%) and Pitt @ 62-99 (38.5%).
These records are nowhere close to the best and worst records of other major team sports.?

Sport                Best              Worst
NFL                  87.5%            6.25% ?
NBA                 77.0%        &n... [More]

Fed up & running since 1913

"If our nation can issue a dollar bond, it can issue a dollar bill.  The element that makes the bond good, makes the bill good, also.
The difference between the bond and the bill is the bond lets money brokers collect twice the amount of the bond and an additional 20%, whereas the currency pays nobody but those who contribute directly in some useful way.
It is absurd to say that our country can issue $30 million in bonds and not $30 million in currency.  Both are promises to pay, but one promise fattens the usurers and the other helps the people."

- Thomas Edison, The New York Times (6 December 1921)

Taking sides: Voltaire's last word on it

Voltaire on his death-bed was asked by the attending priest, "Do you now want to renounce Satan?"
Voltaire replied, "I don't think now's the time to be making enemies."
