NFL Week 5 Plays

I had a write-up saying that the Vikings were statistically better in every category than the Packers. I also said that the Packers needed to stop AP & the Pack Qb would have to avoid mistakes with all the noise of the Vikes stadium, well, maybe I was asking too much out of Rodgers & his offensive line, hence the better team won & covered. Congrats to the Viking backers on Monday night. Now onto week 5 games. The games below are my leans & I will have 2 big plays out of the leans & post the official plays after ive done the research & studying. These are just leans for the time being.

(Skins +3.5), this game opened at Panthers -4.5 & quickly fell to -3.5. Carolina had a bye week but I dont think that helped any, they are still a terrible team. Not that the Skins are much better, but I just think the Skins atleast make an effort to finish games.

(Chiefs +9), The Chiefs showed some life by coming back & trying to make a game of it vs the Giants. I really dont like the Chiefs coach, I dont think this organization is clicking at all but with Dallas in an almost must win game & heavy money on the Boys, I will side with the Chiefs for now because the Boys have not shown me they are the playoff team they are hyped up to be.

(Colts-3.5), This game will be interesting, the Colts are aiming for 5-0 & the Titans are trying not to go 0-5 vs there divisional rival. Im really suprised on how a Fisher team can be 0-4. This is a prime time game & we all know what Manning is able to accomplish on the national stage. Titans beat the Colts last year on Monday night but the Colts shut out the Titans in the playoffs. This is a divisional pivotal game for the Titans, they lose here & they go 0-5 but imo, they already packed it in. The Colts will pass all over them like the Jags did in last weeks lopsided loss.

(Jets -1.5), The Jets made a game of it with the Saints, unfortunately for Sanchez's mistakes, it cost them the game & cover. Saints have a great defense & I was suprised Brees didnt have any td passes in the game. They said defense wins game & when you have 2 great defenses on the field like these teams did, the veteran Qb out played the rookie Qb. Mistakes at the Qb position cost the Jets atleast a cover & I was on the wrong side of that wager. Now as far as the Monday night game between the Jets & Miami, we have 2 Qb's that havent played many games in the NFL. The Jets have the better defense & slighly better in the statistical category. Miami doesnt want to go 1-4 but the Jets want to stay ahead of the Pats with a win, even with the same record, the Jets have the tie breaker so far. Miami is trying to salvage there season & this is the 2nd Monday night game for them since week 2. This is the only Monday night game this year for the Jets & im sure they will want to show off there talent on primetime, I know if I was Sanchez, I would want to shake off last weeks debacle & show the world what I am capable of on national tv.

(Raiders +16), The only reason I would even think about taking the Raiders is the Giants have the Saints the following week in New Orleans & they are coming off the bye & well rested. The Giants will want to have there players rested also & if Manning has any issues with his foot, they will want him to take it easy.I know the Raiders have some serious issues from top to bottom of there organization, this team is in shambles but taking into consideration the Giants upcoming role vs the Saints, I will side with the Raiders for a "small" wager +16

(Pittsburgh ML), I like the Steelers in any parlay but stick them in as a money line when inserting them in a parlay. The Steelers should not lose this game SU. The Steelers offense clicked on all cylinders on Sunday night vs the Chargers but I question there defense. I guess Polamalu makes all the diference in the world to there defense, like I really have to tell you guys that. The Lions played pretty good in the 1st half last week vs the Bears & then mailed it in for the 2nd half. The Steelers are 2-2 & need this win badly to stay within reach of the Ravens & Bengals. Take the Steelers ML in your parlays.

I may add 1 or 2 more games by the weekend.

Any leans or opinion on the NE Game. Looks like its an easy pic for the NE side. After watching Denver and the Cowboys play, I dont necessarily think Denver beat the Cowboys as I do believe the Cowboys specifically Romo did not show up and Romo lost the game for the Cowboys. Too many bad throws and missed opportunities. Orton looked good and thats stretching it because Romo looked so bad. The Pats are finding their nitch and seems like Brady is getting into the zone again. Any opinions would be appreciated. Oh by the way I follow your posts and have been since last year. Keep up the good work. I like the analysis.

Hi PRIME, I'm leaning towards PIT, OAK, WAS, IND, not sold yet on NYJ and KC.GL with your picks.

The Giants are a lock for 3 TD's and a FG or two. Look what Oakland mustered against the Texans? If you're not on the Giants its gotta be a no bet. Tom Coughlin will not let this team look ahead past anyone.

Teaser city baby.  Although I'd be careful with the Giants without Manning.  Carr looked like crap last week and IMO is why the Chiefs had that little mini-comeback.

Consider Philly, Minny, Pitt, and Dallas in any potential teasers and I'll see you at the window...

I am looking at the Pats game also, tough game to gage & here's my analysis:

The Patriots are 3-1 but 0-1 on the road losing as a favorite to the Jets. The Broncos are 4-0 & 2-0 at home. The Pats are fav because of the 3 super bowls they have won. Denver was picked to be bad in the preseason by the so called experts & here they are 4-0 & home dogs, um, if they beat the Pats, they wont be home dogs again this year unless they go on a big losing streak. Dallas is only an average team & there was great value in taking the Broncos last week. Denver moved the ball okay vs Dallas but like I said before, Dallas is not an elite team. The Patriots are not an "elite team" imo this year but they do get the job done when needed. Some help from the zebras doesnt hurt either. This game should be a PK but the 3 points are there for a reason. As of right now, I cant even make a lean on either side but I would like to see the Pats beat the Broncos, we shall see, I will have a play later this week on this game.

Love this game..

On the Colts/Titans game.  Wow Manning has looked better than ever in my opinion.  Titans secondary is pretty dinged up if I'm correct.  I'd definitely lean Colts here, Titans made Garrard look like John Elway.  I don't think Manning will have to shabby of a game either.  I'll probably bet this one as well...

just cause the giants rest players in this game doesnt mean the raiders cover. remember raiders are playing without gallery and lost another offensive lineman. also mcfadden is out 4 weeks and jamarcus " no accuracy " is the qb. giants can easily win this game 24 -6 or 27-9. i cant see the raiders scoring a td in this game. even a less then stellar effort giants will cover. better games to wager on im my opinion.

I dont like the Zona/Texans game. Zona is coming off a bye & should be well rested. Texans beat up on a bad Raiders team & are 1-0 on the road this season beating the pathetic Titans. Zona is 0-2 at home & wants to prove that there season last year wasnt a fluke. I see Zona winning this game but dont know about the spread. I will stay away from this game. Good luck if you play it!

that line will probly move to -4 to -4.5 as sunday rolls along... it is the night game on sunday so all the degenerate losers looking for that one last bet will be taking the colts for sure..

Adding a lean:

(Bengals +9), Ravens coming off a heartbreaking loss & the Bengals off an overtime win making both teams 3-1 & the winner of this game will have the top spot in the division after Sunday. Believe it or not, the Bengals have a slight edge in the statistical department. The Bengals should be 4-0 & the team they lost to in a wild finish week 1 , the Broncos are 4-0 themselves. The Bengals beat the Pack (average), Steelers (average for now) & Browns (poor). The Ravens beat the Chiefs (poor), Chargers (average), & Browns (poor). The Ravens imo, will be caught looking ahead to playing the Vikings in Minnesota next weekend while the Bengals have the Texans in 2 weeks, so imo, the Bengals come out & play better ball then the Ravens, not to say the Ravens will not show up. The Ravens left alot on the field last week vs the Patriots & will want to win this game but 9 points is alot to give this Bengals team. The Bengals played from behind vs the Steelers 2 weeks ago, something this team had a hard time doing the past several years & that's showing me this team has heart.

Whodeysb09 says:

The Ravens won't be looking ahead this game is for sole possession of first place buddy.

PrimeTimeBoys says:

They are the Super Bowl champs, so you may be right, but their defense isnt what it used to be, that's why they are not as superior, imo, as everyone thinks.

Good luck with the games this week WHO!

Hi PRIME.As it stands right now  here is the way I am leaning, these are not locked yet.I am playing DAL as my Best Bet.I am 3 - 0 on my Best Bets, I missed week 1.I think this is exactly what Dallas needs to get back on track.Dallas is far more superior on both sides of the ball than KC and I see them winning and covering comfortably. To round out my top five: PHI -12, MIA + 1, DEN + 3, SEA +3.I will need a little more time research. Some weeks are harder than others and this week is harder for me.GL to all.
PrimeTimeBoys says:

Adding lean:

(Under 41 Pats/Boncos), This game has already gone down 3 points from opening at 44. The Broncos scored 27 & 23 pts vs the Browns ranked 32 in total defense & Raiders ranked 21. Broncos only put up 12 pts to the Bengals & 17 to the Boys. Pats it seems can score some points putting up 26 to the Falcons & 27 to the Ravens but only 9 to the Jets. Imo, the Broncos will keep Brady in check at Milehigh stadium. As far as predicting which team will cover, I might have a play on that later in the week but I definitely see this game going Under the posted total of 41, I wish I would have gotten 44 tho.

like some of your picks, but i have an advise for you: stay away of your Raiders pick, trust me, I am a Raider fan and I know my team, and they are done, no scheme, no coach (Cable as coach and offense play caller, really??) , no Qb, only some decent defensive effort, in the ohter hand you have Manning, Coughlin and a good defense, the only way i see the Raiders cover it's a sloppy game from Giants offense, like a Manning interception return for a TD, or a fumble return for a TD, a special team TD, but even that i dont see it ... even the garbage TD is almost impossible the way Oakland is playing offense, didn't you see the Oak/Hou game??? this offense is compared to that of Art Shell's bread and breakfast offense of 2006 Raiders ... so think about it my friend, I already have NYGiants -17...

Adding lean:

(Eagles -15), The Eagles dominate Tampa in the statistical category. The Eagles are averaging 31.3 ppg on offense & Tampa 13.5. Eagle's defense is allowing 24 ppg & Tampa 26.8. Neither defense is impressive early in the season. The Eagles beat Carolina (0-3), Chiefs (0-4) & lost to the Saints (4-0). Tampa hasnt beaten anyone, they are (0-4), they lost to Dallas (2-2), Buffalo (1-3), Giants (4-0) & Skins (2-2). Tampa is 0-3 vs the NFC East & this game will make it 0-4. Andy Reid will have the Eagles ready off the bye, his team will be well rested & ready to play. Eagles key player inuries: Kevin Curtis fully practiced Wed but is not 100% back. Brian Westbrook is probable & is expected to start Sunday. McNabb is probable but is expected to start also.

Tampa key injuries: Antonio Bryant is probable but seen limited action in practice. Leftwich is questionable but returned to practice Wed, he  has a hip problem. Imo, the Eagles offense will have too much speed for Tampa's defense & it will get ugly quick. McNabb will use Westbrook & open up the passing game. McNabb gets 4 td passes this game. Here are some trends:

Eagles are 11-0 SU coming off a bye last 11 times

Eagles are 9-2 ATS coming off a bye last 11 times

Eagles are 9-0 ATS in October vs <.500 opponent off a road game

Tampa is 3-0 ATS last 3 times they played the Eagles

Giants laying too many can't lay this much in an NFL game ever no matter who's playing.  A couple things to consider though for a Giants backer in this one is that they will not lose much if carr was to start.  This is his coming out party and time to showcase himself to get another opportunity at a starting job next year. Gmen will keep it close to the vest this week but Carr will have his opportunities to  show he's a good starting qb in this league when you give him an offensive line and a running back behind him

How come no one has yet to mention the Vikings -10 this week?  St. Louis has been blown out in every game this year except for the offensively challenged Redskins.  The Vikings have a top 3 D-line in football and that number 28 guy, and also Favre is making these Vikings receivers legitimate threats.

The Vikings blow out the Rams this week.

I also like the Colts and the Eagles, along with a small Atlanta ML play.

Good luck to everyone this week.
