Final 8 is Lining Up to Be the Following...

Kentucky vs Baylor

Mich St vs Florida

NC State vs UNC

The above matchups (if they happen) would be epic.

Need help on SYR vs Whisky and Cincy vs Ohio St.

This year there are notably very few (if any) finesse teams.

It is all muscle and defense. Yet the teams that also have shooters and premier players have a complete package to go all they way, besides playing for tradition rich schools.

The state of Ohio figures to get at least one team into the finals. My guess is the winner between Ohio St and Cincy can beat Syracuse or Whisky.

Need help with that East bracket.

I haven't reloaded my sports account in 6 years, but I'm runni9n on fumes.

Marq opened as a fav for a reason here.  Especially with Florida coming off that public humiliation they put on Norfolk.

I'd say after that everyone and their brother will be riding the gators.

UF is a 'finesse' team.  Their game is to run & run & run & run all game chunking 3's.  They don't do well in a slower half court or inside game.

Take a look at the norfolk game yesterday.  30 point lead with 9 mins left and Donovan still has the gators pushing the pace.  They can't play any other way.  I was kind of shocked he didn't start pulling starters and running the shot clock down every possession.

marq-uf should be a good game.  If marq plays good defense on perimeter and slows the pace, it will frustrate the crap out of florida.  Not sure they want to slow the pace though.

If fla advances mich. st. or l'ville will send'em packing

Why do you think the Ville advances. I may take the Ville and the points, will be close at the end.

I know the common conception is that Florida likes to run, run, run, but Marquette has played to a pace all year that ranks a full 200 spots higher than the Gators. Marquette games have averaged 6.5 more possessions.

The biggest Florida homer on this site lol. Take off your blue glasses, Marquette knows how to defend the 3.

Gators overwhelmed two puppies , but anyways it appears they're focused.

They lost to Ohio St by 7, Syr by 4, and Kentucky by 3. The last game was basically a Ktcky home game, and the Cats went to the FT line 20 times, the Gators just 2.

It's obvious I suppose, that this game is down to the end of the clock ticking. Wish Florida had more points cuz it's obvious they'll be there close when it's all said and done.

I give Marquette the edge here. As somone else already stated, they are good at defending the 3, and if Florida doesn't hit them consistently, they will almost certainly lose that game. Lean Marquette there.

They hit 4 against UVA and won by 26, obviously they can win without them. It's like everyone is just completely ignoring facts, Im trying to help you guys out and you think Im being biased. I have watched probably 20 more Florida games this year than all of you on average.

Apparently so was Virginia and it didn't matter.

I have been harder on UF than anyone on this board this year, im trying to give people info on a team they don't watch as much as I do.

I'm a big Ohio State fan, but I don't like their chances to win it this year... having said that, I like their chances against Cincinnati on Thursday. The Bearcats don't have the length on the inside to bother guys like Sullinger and Thomas.. Craft is a great point guard and I think he'll do some major damage against Cincinnati.

Agreed. cincy's offense is mediocre and the turnover avg is appaling.

ref's are definitely having trouble blowing their whistles on fouls. which of course favours

physical teams. that cincy/flor st game was a war. haven't been that impressed with ohio st. think cincy has a real shot straight up. big 12 hasn't impressed either, so I fully expect baylor and kansas to not make it to the final four. Xavier and nc state on the ml.

As you originally noted it's all muslce and defense, with a lack of finesse teams being successful. I believe this will continue. cheers

I like Ohio State to beat Cincy rather easily and i believe SYR squeeks bye Whisky to round out you're elite 8. For what it's worth i see the final being Ohio State and Kentucky wuth Ohio State winning it all in a so called upset
