The final 2 weeks heading into the regular season have to be the loneliest of all, abandoned as we are to the upcoming school year the summer unravelling like a 4th quarter turnover and the ugly prospect of presidential politics rearing its ghastly face. Had to get out the raindar to see exactly where and what Chinese Taipei is. I believe it is simply Taiwan with a new uniform.......
Betting on pre-season games brings to mind my sister nibbling on chocolate when she knows it brings on the fierce migraine. Just one of those things. As for the elections we hear alot about the poor state of the economy but if this thing was a 1x4 year relay race the first lap had our runner knocked on the head with a baton while mired in a muddy 6 foot deep trench, and at a 50 yard disadvantage, so lets be realistic ok???
Glad to get that off my chest, now we can proceed to bury this thread while more entertaining posters gear up for the Patriots game tonight with all kinds of insight into how THAT is going to play out. And the 'unit' details to back it up ARRRRRGHHHHHHH........... If I was smart I would wait until week 7 to bet on ANY games when it becomes more clear which teams are backed into corners and what they are really made of. Not gonna happen though but I know its the right thing to do. I like chocolate TOO it would seem.....
In the meantime the thing is to collect a bankroll which necessitates taking the easy pickings out of MLB, hitting a few college plays (Michigan St, yeah) and breezing past images of red white and blue balloons floating around a bunch of loathesome politicos with the remote while heading for re-runs of THE WALKING DEAD, a fair trade for sure.......
Looking forward to writing a weekly pick sheet for the NFL games. My style of capping of course, heavy on the social commentary but with a realistic view to picking winners...a lonely 2 weeks indeed...........
