SUPER BOWL - CAR v DEN

“THE LAST PLAY”
The Panthers will be the 50th Super Bowl Champion in NFL history. No other professional football team proved itself more soundly dominant in 2015-16 than the Cats, largely accomplishing said feat via what most pundits predicted to be their Achilles heel entering the Regular Season - their offence (let us not forget this is a team that lost its star WR before week 1, hosted a stable of aging, unheralded RBs and featured a ship helm thought to be just another flashy, flameout, run & gun QB). Carolina finished their most recent NFL campaign averaging over 31-pts per game (the most of any team) while simultaneously hosting the 6th ranked overall defence in the league. Let it be known the Broncos will surely play punch-mouth football when without the pigskin in this contest, as they were one of the collective few that outranked the Panthers in total defence this season past and know how to hit hard. Nevertheless, DEN has some serious issues in the pass attack, one that can cut and slash in the short game but is widely susceptible to third-and-outs & turnovers due to the failing strength of QB Peyton Manning’s once shotgun-turned-pop gun throwing arm. In a matchup littered with Pro Bowlers both young and old and the potential of a home run play sealing the deal for either side, nothing is a definite, especially when all-or-nothing i... [More]

2015-16 NFL POST SEASON: CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND (SUNDAY)

vs SPREAD
DEN +3.5
ARI +3.5

STRAIGHT UP
NE
CAR

------------------------

CONFERENCE 1 - NE v DEN
“THE LAST PLAY”
The Pats will have their work cut-out for them on the road against DEN this weekend as the Broncos were handily one of the best defensive clubs in the league all year and were not known to surrender points to an opponent without some inflicted wear-and-tear to go with it. That being said, for all their bone-shattering tackles amassed, the Broncos will not silence the offensive of sacred duo Brady/Belicheck forever and, in spite of all their crafty audibles, DEN signal caller QB Peyton Manning (a man who heroically refuses to quit a game that is slowly stealing his livelihood) simply can no longer sling a toss more than 20 yards. The Pats will need to be patient and work diligently for points in this contest. However, with the game on the line in the final minutes of this matchup, make no mistake the end result will be one of familiarity – Brady beats Manning.

CONFERENCE 2 - ARI v CAR
“THE LAST PLAY”
One would be hard pressed to find a better clash of NFL talent than the one primed for our collective viewing this Sunday evening live from Raleigh, N.C. With two #1 overall draft pick, MVP candidate signal callers set to do to battle for a ticket to the Super Bowl, expect a heaping helping of heady hits & heroic plays from both sides in this matchup as neither club holds a particular advantage over the other. 2015-16 NFL POST SEASON: DIVISIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND (SUNDAY)

vs SPREAD
SEA +2.5
DEN -8.0

STRAIGHT UP
SEA
DEN

-----------------------------

DIVISIONAL3 - SEA v CAR
“THE LAST PLAY”
In what should be a hard-to-handicap ballgame, the end result of this contest is actually quite clearer than what the betting public may be willing to admit. The Panthers are a young team on the ascent, one that boasts an experienced QB that is not only growing finer with age but is also backed by a collective of talent whose names may not ring bells but whose hits/clutch offensive-execution sure do. That said, SEA is a team-possessed, a club that has tasted Big Show victory and never grown tired of its sweetness. With the #1 ranked defence vs both the pass AND run in their back pocket for this contest, the best team outright wins here – and that’s the one with a Super Bowl ring to their name.

DIVISIONAL4 - PIT v DEN
“THE LAST PLAY”
Dramatic injuries to crucial offensive talent has PIT a good bet to lose this weekend in the Mile High State. In fact, the situation appears so grim for Mike Tomlin & his bunch that even smart money longshot PIT upsets vs the failing arm of DEN QB Manning are being rebuffed by the betting public. It’s true that PIT has a few good years still left in them, maybe even another Super Bowl ring if they play their cards right. However, the rabbit hole of a road game, played in thin air icy temps, minus your breakout RB & WR & your QB bearing an injury to his throwing arm... [More]

2015-16 NFL POST SEASON: DIVISIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND (SATURDAY)

vs SPREAD
KC +4.5
GB +7.0

STRAIGHT UP
NE
ARI

--------------------------------

DIVISIONAL1 - KC v NE

“THE LAST PLAY”
The Pats are near a virtual lock when playing in Foxborough and this weekend’s Divisional Championship game vs the Chiefs should bear no dissimilar outcome as the stout run defence of NE will put heavy pressure on KC QB Smith to toss the pigskin, something the veteran ship helm can do accurately but far from proficiently. The Chiefs sport a tight run defence themselves, however, their pass defence is middling at best and, with a somewhat-healthy TE Gronkowski in the lineup for the Chowderheads, the home club is the likeliest to advance this weekend in Boston, MA.

DIVISIONAL2 - GB v ARI

“THE LAST PLAY”
Aaron Rodgers is, indisputably, an elite quarterback and is destined for the halls of Canton, OH, which makes it all the more confusing that his team ranked one of the worst in the league in pass offence this Regular Season and why the Packers will most-definitely come-up-short this SATNF in land of State-approved Racial profiling. The Cards hold all, well, the cards in this matchup, save a QB with playoff-success. Nonetheless, so long as ARI tosser Carson Palmer plays simple checkdown football whilst handing off every once in a while to RB Johnson for good measure, backers of the Birds to win this weekend will be holding all the cheddar.

WILD CARD 3 - SEA v MIN
“THE LAST PLAY”
Battle cries will flood ears, horn-chapeaus will be out in full force and the Minny fanbase will be rocking at frosty TCF Bank Stadium this Sunday afternoon when the 2015-16 NFC North Division Champs square off versus perennial playoff entrant Seattle. Though the Vikes proved a formidable defensive foe to any opponent that dared toe their Twin Cities football field this season, the lone team to definitively buck that trend also happens to be the one coming to town. Fielding the best road defence in the NFL and facing an opponent whose stud RB is visibly limping (not to mention a pass attack that ranked dead last in the league), watch for the gulls to swoop in for the kill in this all-or-nothing contest.

WILD CARD 4 - GB v WAS
“THE LAST PLAY”
The advantages held by the ‘Skins in this game are innumerable and undeniable – they not only bested the Packers in near every offensive & defensive category this season but also hold home field advantage in this matchup whilst riding a 4-game win streak to close out their 2015-16 campaign. Unfortunately for WAS, the one element the club lacks entering this contest is also the one proven time & time again the most crucial to NFL Post Season play  – playoff experience – something the Pack boast in spades and will all-but-assuredly be relying upon in this showdown.... HOU +3.5

STRAIGHT UP
KC
PIT

---------------------------------------------

WILD CARD 1 - KC v HOU
“THE LAST PLAY”
A 10-game win streak to close out the season has the Chiefs playing favourites on the road against one of the league’s top ranked home defences this Regular Season. The pressure will be on KC aerial attack tandem QB Smith & WR Maclin to produce offence in this matchup as the electrifying pass-catch play of HOU wideout Hopkins will not remain dormant forever (though Chiefs CB Peters may have something to say about that) and, if not careful, could sting the traveling Missourians to the tune of yet another early post-season exit.

WILD CARD 2 - PIT v CIN
“THE LAST PLAY”
These heated Division rivals split their 2015-16 Regular Season series with both sides accounting for wins in one another’s house. Though the Jungle Cats sport a more balanced attack on both sides of the ball for this contest, experience is a factor that cannot be measured on paper and something Pittsburgh will need to rely on heavily if they are to emerge road victors in a matchup set to pit two of the league’s top-10 teams defensive clubs (with respect to points allowed) head-to-head.
