Just took a look at the Aussie open draw, defiantely some solid matches in the early rounds, doesn't look like we'll have to wait till the 4th round to see some high caliber matches.
Starting with the mens, Fedex's first match is vs Igor Andreev. Although Fed is almost a lock to move into the quarters if not semi's here, Andreev gave Fed all he could handle a couple years ago (US Open I think) so this one could be a bit harder then expected. Andreev is nowhere near the form he was in then but nevertheless an above average first round match.
Another first round match-up taht should provide some fireworks is Stepanek vs Karlovic, I think everyone remembers the show they put on last year (Davis Cup?). An absolute shootout going 5 sets, and I believe most if not all were tie breaks.
As for the women, a match I have circled is the second round match between Henin and Dementieva. A terrible draw for Elena playing Henin in just the second round, as both players have the potential to win this tourny. Elena handled Serena quite easily if the Aussie open tune up, and we all know what Henin can do so this should be as good of a second round match as you'll see.
Haven't looked into many of the other matches, but I'm sure we'll find some solid picks. BOL with the tourny.
