So the Tigers are
off to a hell of a start by steamrolling through the Red Sox and staying
undefeated for the firsts 3 games of the 162 game schedule. There is of course
much more baseball to be played this year but it is still a valiant effort
against a formidable opponent. This comes as no surprise to the bookies thought
as they have adjusted their lines for Detroit to win the AL from +800 to a very
strong +400.
As mentioned
earlier there is a grueling season to be played and history doesn’t prove that
a strong start will result in a successful finish. Let’s look back at the Red
Sox last year when they tipped of the season by going 0-6 and 2-10. Everyone in
the Boston camp was having a nervous breakdown at first, until of course the
Red Sox crushed everything in their path for the whole summer, only to collapse
again come September. Baseball is a game of endurance; with such a challenging
schedule nearly every team in the league will have their improbable runs at
glory on any given month of the MLB game calendar.
At the end of the
day though it matters when people put their money where their mouth is and with
most punters backing the Tigers to get over 93.5 season wins and going from
+1600 to a cozy +800 to win the 2012 World Series, you have to say their play
in the 1st three games of their schedule has warranted such respect
from the sports betting world.
Another team not
to fall asleep on should definitely be the Angels as they went from a measly
+2800 to a very respectful +650 to win the big prize 2012. All in all baseball
season is by far one of the most dreadful professional sports endeavors an
athlete can put himself through and this whole picture can have a completely
different look come playoff time. MLB
