With the addition of Dwight Howard, the Lakers jump to the top of the contention list. It will require injuries to both Kobe and Howard to prevent them from winning a title this year

As much as people say they are a team of elderly men, lets not underestimate this group (look what the Spurs did this season)...
With Nash and Jamison now in the mix as well, it doesn't matter much anymore if Howard comes to L.A. or not...Metta is being kept as a solid defender and they should finally have all the scoring punch they lacked off the bench with the acquisition of Jamison...Nash will create the spacing and with Kobe, Bynum and Gasol on the floor as well this team becomes a match up nightmare for anyone...
Kobe gets his 6th ring this year...

Its easy to trash the Knicks and all that but which one of us wouldn't think about an extra $40million bill for a player who has 35 games on his resume, as soon as he got handed heavy minutes he got injured, completely shut down by the Heat and after agreeing to $20million went back to the negotiating table to get more....I agree with the Knicks decision to let him walk...good luck to Jeremy but he will never be what some people are saying he will (Nash, Paul, Rose, etc).

With the Olympics right around the corner let’s take a look at some of the premier events and rivalries this year. As usual it will be basketball, athletics and swimming taking center stage with so many headlines around the world about Usain Bolt, Michael Phelps and the USA men’s basketball squad.
The Olympic Committee could not have asked for any better scenario for these Olympic games that will be held in London, with drama and heartbreak written all over them. Let’s start off with running sensation and world record holder Usain Bolt. He has taken the world by storm after looking like a man running against young children at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing. He managed to beat his own world records and brought massive media attention to the sport of running by being a very flamboyant and attention seeking star athlete. Well four years later Bolt is far from a lock to win the 100m and 200m sprints after being beaten by fellow countryman Yohan Blake in both of those events at Jamaica’s Olympic Trials last week. At the same time the times posted by the runners were far off from the record breaking pace Bolt achieved at the ’08 games so if he gets his act together he is still the man to beat on the track. As it stand right now he is marked at (-133) to win the 100m race with Blake not too far behind at (+150). Their closest competitor in the eyes of book keepers is Tyson Gay ... [More]

Brandon Roy's bid for return is getting serious consideration from the above mentioned teams...

They could have at least made it less obvious...I dunno, give OKC some money to make it look believable instead of letting the refs side with Miami to the extent that it looked like it was a bunch of middle school kids out there making calls and blowing whistles...

Brandon Roy has tweeted that he is set on a comeback bid to the NBA...Given his difficult condition with his knees will he succeed or?
I think he will at the least make a solid high level guard coming of the bench that could produce for any team...

This guy made a joke out of the league after numerous unprofessional and questionable decisions in this short season alone...I will not even mention the things he has been up to throughout the last decade...
Cancelling of the CP3 trade that was already agreed upon by all 3 sides...Changed the outcome of possibly the whole playoffs picture out in the West...
Pao Gasol was depressed whole season long, Clippers were made into a semi-decent team, Odom got dropped by Lakers and they got nothing in return for it, New Orleans lost their star anyway.
The lottery being rigged scandal...By N.O. getting the first pick it solidifies the NBA's chance of selling the team for a legitimate price
Stern's outburst on the Rome radio show...Who is he to tell a radio show host who's job is to ask controversial questions "Have you stopped beating your wife yet" on live air?
This guy should be booted by the owners and replaced by the man of their majority vote...

Given that he manages to keep lowering his turnovers I think he is definitely in the top 3.
By far the fastest and most explosive guard in the league (while Rose is injured).
He proved that he can pass and even rebound
He is like an energizer bunny for his team, they feed of his energy and play well.
And of course the fact that he can consistently drop 30 points a game.
Definitely top 3 PG in the league

I read quite a few articles today and "expert opinions" that Miami will beat Oklahoma in 7 games....Now if you ask me I just don't see it happening.
There would have to be a series ending injury to Durant or Westbrook in order for that to happen. Thunder is too deep and talented for the Heat to overcome unless Wade wakes up and has the performances he had in the 2006 Finals which the Heat won paired with great domination from LeBron.

Heat at (+190) and the Thunder set at (-225)

They are the better team and as historic a season LeBron had, this is not a team that he will be able to overcome by himself...Thunder in 6
Posted Friday, June 08, 2012 09:03 AM
It is a lock that Miami (-450) will take game 7 over Boston (+360) which will ensure us a good finals match up. The young Thunder bolster 3 Superstar caliber players with a very strong inside presence in Ibaka and Perkins. LeBron, Wade and Bosh are no pushovers either so I am looking forward to this one (even though dislike both teams)
I boldly say Thunder in 6

Mia (-130) VS. Bos (+110), any other scenario and LeBron will get slaughtered by the media
Posted Wednesday, June 06, 2012 09:22 AM
With the emergence of the Thunder and their younger superstars, an upcoming Lakers revamp summer, Indiana and Chicago it seems as if LeBron might be the most celebrated player ever without a ring...

This will go down as one of the most epic collapses in NBA playoff history for the Spurs and one of the most memorable jolts in a team for the OKC Thunder....OKC are 2012 NBA Champions and Durant Finals MVP.

Should've been more focused on playing then planning how he will propose "for months" http://www.thepostgame.com/blog/dish/201206/knicks-star-slams-down-wedding-proposal

Makes sense for both sides, he will come at a mid-level exception at $3mill, Lakers have little room to work with outside of Bynum and Gasol being traded....Only question remains if Odom can get back on track
Posted Thursday, May 31, 2012 03:31 AM
Not only judging from his historical performance last night but this guy for some reason flew under the radar after posting a record breaking reason that saw him have over 20, 10+ assist games, improved his shooting %, ppg and all around he is by far the biggest star on the Celtics team now. Shame that all that effort he put in last night could not pay off...

If Duncan wins his fifth ring this year will that tarnish Kobe's rep as the best player to come out of the draft in the 90's? Hard to judge since they play completely different positions but interesting to hear peoples opinions...

It is quite possible the Lakers will have an overhaul of a summer, at least I think they should.
They have the pieces to get both Howard and D-Will
Magic should take Bynum because all he wants is to be the centerpiece of a franchise and that is shown by his immature behavior, he wants to be the go to guy on his team. This is the best value Orlando could get in return for Howard.
Gasol will be key for the Nets because he is still the most versatile player in the NBA. Lakers in return will have a starting five of Kobe, Howard, D-Will, hopefully Artest and whatever other role players they decide to put around include in those blockbuster trades.
Again, given this happens, woudl this team then be a lock or at least a heavy favorite to win a ring in their first year together. If you ask me, without any injuries, this would be a hell of a squad to overcome in the playoffs...
