Is Bynum the best center in the NBA?

After last nights Laker game against the Nuggets this question actually makes much more sense then it did in the beggining or mid-point of the season.

Bynum posted a triple-double last night and terrorized the Nuggets in the paint on both ends of the floor. 10 blocks matched an NBA postseason record and he posted the first Laker playoff triple-double in over 20 years, last player who did that was Magic Johnson when the Lakers lost to the Bulls in the 1991 finals.

He blocked 11% of all of Denvers combined shots and Lakers as a team swatted away one in every 6 shot attemps. That is unbelievable statistics. Even though Kobe scored a quiet 31 points, Bynum was the star last night and outshined not only Kobe and the hollywood A-listers sitting courtside but quite possibly eclipsed Dwigh Howard for the top center in the league.

Is that too much to say after one game and the season Bynum has been having?

ive been saying this.Everybody ho0lding Howqards nuts but this kid has been very consistent all season.Howard maybe more rounded overall but as of right now Drew is the better center.

lol for crying out loud hes playn vs the nuggets....no one is on tht team....melo gone...nene gone....billups gone....whos left? shiet ass gallanari and whts tht goofs name again?.hmmm...........al harrington thts it...lol...nuggets i didnt see bynum put up these numbers last year in the playoffs.....

he got 30 rebounds on the Spurs earlier this month...in my eyes his season is way better than that of any other center in the league

@keyser Who else do you have in mind? The only debatable option is of course Dwight Howard...other than him there is noone near these two in the league...In my eyes Dwight was more unreliable and inconsistent then Bynum this season

Clearly the best Center in the game. Howard may jump higher but has no back to the basket moves. Bynum demands a double team just like Shaq used to which makes everyone else better also.

Can someone explain to me, How Kobe say's him and shaq couldn't coexist. But isn't Bynum the same type of player as Shaq?

I think that it comes down to the personalities of both players, plus the fact that Shaq was an established star by the time Kobe got there...Now Bryant is by all means the top dog and Bynum has to understand that he is playing with a legend and has to take the backseat until Kobe retires....Although with Bynums recent display of attitude this could surely turn around fast in the next couple of years...lets see

Good, For me the best is Kevin Garnet Boston Celtics why he win more awards as center in NBA Bynum is good else .
