   Yale +20 vs Florida (Intertops) -- Just a bit too high, especially given that Florida is just about 36 hours removed from a double overtime game 1300 miles away.

   College of Charleston -3.5 vs George Mason (Intertops) -- Pretty easy here, to me.   Better team.   At home.   Better former Georgia Tech coach on the bench.

   WVU PK vs Seton Hall (Intertops) -- WVU has played a much more demanding schedule and I think we will see that they are the better team here.

   Oklahoma +6.5 vs Cincinnati (Intertops) -- Cincinnati's first non-patsy opponent since they suspended 3 guys who were involved in the fight.

   James Madison -7.5 vs Rhode Island (Intertops) -- as if URI wasn't bad enough, then they lost two starters to injury last week (and they are still out) and now they have suspended their leading scorer.   And honestly, they were so bad before last week that they probably merited being a 7.5 pt dog here even before losing those three guys.

   Wisconsin -8.5 vs Nebraska (Intertops) -- One of the things I try very hard to avoid is conference road favorites.   And here I am, on the first day of conference play, taking one.   Well, first of all, Wisconsin is a far superior team.   And Nebraska has 2, possibly 3, contributing starters who won't play in this one.  Finally, one reason to avoid conference road favorites is that the teams know each other from years of conference play and the underdog has an idea of what they have to do to compete with the better team based on that experience.   Familiarity means the other team, even if they come in highly ranked, doesn't appear as scary as their accomplishments might suggest.   Since this is the first Big 10 basketball game in Nebraska history, that doesn't really apply here.

SteveA's Bowls, Week 2

So far in bowl season:  4-1, +2.85 units

   Louisville +1.5 vs NC State (Intertops) -- I like the way this young Louisville team showed a lot of improvement as the season progressed, and was impressed by their ability to win on the road in hostile environments such as West Virginia.

SteveA's NFL Week 16

Last week:  4-3-1, +0.55 units
Season:  46-41, +1.25 units

Visiting my mother Thursday through Monday, will only have internet access vis smart phone which is kind of slow, so doing most of my weekend NFL tonight.   Might be a few games I wait on lines for.

   Indianapolis/Texans under 40 (Intertops) -- Texans have one of the top defenses in the NFL, allowing just 16.9 ppg.   And their offense hasn't gone beyond 20 since losing Schaub and Johnson. 

   Broncos -2.5 vs Bills (Intertops) -- Bills defense is a mess, and Tebow is showing improvement game to game.   Broncos still have something to play for, no reason to think they won't win here.

   Jaguars/Titans under 40 (Intertops) -- Jags' defense is underrated, and their offense is anemic.   Last 8 Titan games have had 41 or fewer points.

   Chargers +2.5 vs Lions (Intertops) -- San Diego is playing very well now that their offensive line issues have settled down.   As always, they are dominating the month of December (I believe something like 22-2 in their last 24 December games).   They win this one outright.

   Ohio +6 -115 vs Northern Iowa (Intertops) -- Yes, Northern Iowa is having a great year too.   But it's hard to pass up a team that is 9-1, with the only loss by 5 on the road to top 10 undefeated Louisville, getting 6 points.   And NIU is playing for the second of back to back days.

   Drake +7 vs Iowa (Intertops) -- Iowa sucks.   They haven't beaten anybody of note and they have lost to every decent team they played.   They lost by 10 to Iowa State; Drake beat Iowa St by 10. 

SteveA's Bowl Picks 2011-2012

Regular season:  52-55, -9.80 units

   New Mexico Bowl:   Temple -7 vs Wyoming (Intertops) -- Temple has a great running game and an excellent defense.   Wyoming has a horrible rushing defense, allowing 230 yards per game.  Temple running the ball, against Wyoming's run defense, is the determining matchup in this one.

Season:  42-38, +0.70 units

   Jaguars +13.5 vs Falcons (Intertops) -- Jags have only lost one game all year by more than this number.   Their defense actually is pretty decent.   And on offense, they have the league's top running back and can cut down on Atlanta's possessions by keeping the ball.   Worth noting that Atlanta's left tackle is out too.

   Georgetown/Alabama under 133 (Intertops) -- Once you've watched Alabama play, you will become a believer in their tough defensive ability.  Teams are shooting just 32% against them and scoring under 53 points per game.

   Seahawks +3 vs Eagles (Intertops) -- Eagles are banged up all over the place, they don't have a very good defensive front to start with, and they have to fly 3000 miles and play on a very short week.   Hey, these are two 4-7 teams, I'll take the one at home getting the points.
