I'll post some comments I made in another thread. Feel free to share your thoughts.
Last year, this conference gave us 4 1 seeds and was arguably one of the best conferences of all time.
This year, no 1 seeds, but it will be more competitive from top to bottom.
I love Seton Hall this year. I think they are tourney bound. They will definitely make a big jump in the Big East.
They bring Pope and Garcia back down low (one of the better low blocks
in the Big East especially if this freshman from Memphis can step in).
Their scoring star Hazell is back and Harvey as well running the point. They also get Keon Lawrence, transfer from Mizzou.
Dangerous team. Alright, I'll stop. Just haven't rambled hoops in a while
Think about how much the top tier teams in the Big East lost to graduation:
Notre Dame: Macalerny, Ayers, Hillesland, Zeller although Gody back
Ville: Williams, Mcgee, Clark
Uconn: Adrien, Price, Austrie, Thabeet
Pitt: Fields, Young, Biggs and Blair
Cuse: Flynn, Dievendorf, Harris
Marquette: Mcneal, Burke, Matthews, James
Nova: Cunningham, Clark, Anderson although backcourt will be fine
Gtown
and Wvu are in better positions. Both bring back their best players
(Monroe and Butler) and bring back most everyone else. Ruoff and
Summers did leave
Then you have these bottom feeders of last
year that bring EVERYBODY back. See: Seton Hall, St Johns and Cincy. All three will make a big jump. Rutgers to a certain extent, but the talent just isn't there.
Providence, Depaul and South Florida will be brutal. No surprise there.
