NFL Play of Week: Indy versus Baltimore

Of any game if your throwing down money .. this would be the game .. Peyton Manning comming off of one of his best seasons ever going up against a ravens team that Indy knows can rush the ball .. first thing is first in this game .. Indy will stack the box not take the run out of the game but make it alot less affective then Baltimore was against the Pats .. no way will they run for 200 against Indy .. second thing is too beat Indy you have too be able to out score them .. no matter how good your defense Peyton will score .. Flacco cant carry this team on his back .. even with a great rushing attack once the ball is in his hands he wont be able too get through the pressure that Dwight Freeney and the most underrated lineman in the league Robert Mathis bring at him.. expect at LEAST 1 lost fumble by Flacco and 1 interception and that definetly will only make things worse for the Ravens ..

This game is one of those games where having the better D or rushing attack doesnt matter because Manning can score in under a minute .. no matter how long you control the ball or try and play clock management it wont make much of a difference here .. im a big fan of Ray Lewis but no matter what Baltimore bring too the table Indy should win this game easily by 6.5 .. looking at the other games it would be stupid to put down big dollers on anything but this one ...

Peyton gets the edge over Flacco .. the recieving core of Indy is wayyyy better then Baltimore .. Dallas Clark is the best tight end in footbal along with Gates and Witten .. Pash Rush obviously goes too Indy .. despite the fact Terrel Suggs is a monster .. Ray Rice is the only real threat Baltimore has and unless he gets 300 all purpose yards they wont be close .. give Baltimore the edge at the linebacker spot.. and if Baltimore need a field goal when there is pressure i wouldnt want Billy Cundiff kicking for me ..

Indianapolis -6.5 .... Play of the Week ..

definetly would like some feedback and see what others are feeling about this game

Indy is the better team. clearly. But as we seen in the season indy did not beat the ravens easily and im pretty sure that manning only scored a single touchdown that game. I definately would not be surprised if the ravens upset the colts, But they will cover 6.5 for sure.

I think that the playoffs will turn out as follows....

AFC CHAMPIONSHIP GAME

JETS VS RAVENS

NFC CHANMPIONSHIP GAME

DALLAS VS NEW ORLEANS

SUPERBOWL

JETS vs DALLAS

DALLAS SB CHAMP

I like two points that you made: 1) Joe Flacco will have to play a bigger role this week; 2) Indy can score a lot and quickly, too.

I'm leaning Colts myself but 6.5 is a lot of points to lay in the playoffs. As good as the Colts have been there have been some real close games this year (NE, BAL, even JAC). This makes me not want to play the game a bit more cautiously.

Will rust be a factor? If the offense gets off to a slow start does this play into the Ravens' game plan?

I like your analysis.  I want to go with Indy but why since the numbers tell otherwise.   Ravens will play the same D they did against NE by keeping all players in front of them and trying to create turnovers.  Ravens will play the field and let Indy move the ball but Ravens will wait for a mistake while Indy is driving down the field.  Ravens don't look like a 3 and out is their goal- obviously its every D's goal but not at the cost of giving up a big play by being overly aggressive.  They will rely on their line to put pressure on Manning and will rely on their secondary to cover and possible create turnovers.

The best bet for this game - not the Colts or the Ravens, but the UNDER! But it to 45. Both teams will have time consuming drives if they do score - no one minute drives versus the Baltimore D. Just ask Tom Brady...

Serb definetly nice insight .. i agree with you 100% .. Manning is playing as good as he has ever in his career .. and im no saying baltimore is a bad team but ther not in the same league as Indy .. wen Indy are clicking ther unstoppable .. they havent always covered this year but theyr poised .. theyr rested and i think the spread wont be a problem .. again i appreciate the APPROPRIATE feedback .. leave the cursing and negative junk out of the thread if you cant make a point properly ..

Tom Brady was missing some weapons as well .. manning will move the ball much easier .. and answering your question Tom .. the only chance baltimore had is to slow down that offense so yes that would play too the advantage of the ravens .. i just dont see it happening ..

Serb, I grew up in Baltimore as a young child, loved Johnny Unitas,Raymond Berry,Bubba Smith and many others....When they left 4 Indy in 84,I was bitter, hated Robert Irsay with a passion, still was a fan of the Colts, until the old Browns became the Ravens, went 2 the games at Memorial Stadium with my familly....

Whenever I C the Horseshoe on their helmets it brings back memories, but come Saturday night, hatred towards them,Peyton has destroyed us over the years,no doubt, but on Saturday night we R coming after him...U won't stop the ground game...A revamped line with Yanda is pancaking people and you'll C soon enough....GL..Serb.....

It's like this boys, too many fans of 1 team or the other makes you bias. I'm a Panther's fan (make ur jokes if u want) anyway, this makes me "not a Homer" in this Ravens/Colts match. And here's how I see it: Ravens have a nice little defense, but Manning has plenty of film & weapons to handle them. Best "audible QB" n the league. So the Colts will put points on the board. Problem is I don't see the Ravens being able to keep pace. Once they fall too far behind and the game gets later, they will have to start relying on Flacco's arm...not good. Did you see his passer rating in the Patriots game...bad...and he completed 10 passes for like 43 yrds. That's for the whole game people. I'm telling u he will not have the luxury of handing the ball off to Ray Rice all game long in this one. Don't be stupid, the chalk is covered here, TAKE THE COLTS!!!
