Crosby won't play tonight

Just read in the Pittsburgh Tribune that Crosby is going to sit tonight to rest his groin. Also, Ryan Whitney has returned to Boston for family related reasons as well.

"Penguins captain Sidney Crosby will not play tonight against the New York Islanders at Mellon Arena. Crosby is day-to-day with a sore groin."

"Also, defenseman Ryan Whitney has left the team and has returned to Boston for family-related reasons."

Might be worth taking a chance on the Isle tonight. Books are dealing a wide range of prices - as high as -305 and as low as -200.

Thanks Tipsy. The Crosby loss is obviously huge but Whitney is a big blow to the defense also. Definitely some value with Isles on the puckline.

Malkin and others can still score. You're talking about the worst team in the league. It'll probably be a no-play for me, but I'd have a hard time backing the Pens' farm team.

Love it! On the Pens PL for just this reason, They will play bigger and harder without him, they always do, and a maximum effort from the rest of their team is enough to take care of business against the Isles...Big night for Malkin tonight as always when Crosby is out!
