Sunday NFL

Absolutely terrible day yesterday. Don't even know what to say. Hopefully today is a better day.

Jets -9

Buffalo is fading fast and they are decimated with injuries. They haven't traveled well either. Jets really need this game and I think they'll get the job done. Rexy Rex sat Sanchez out for some of the first teams reps and last time that really pissed him off and worked well. I really don't think Buffalo with Fred Jackson out and some of the other injuries does enough offensively to stay in this game, and the Jets defense should have no problem stopping them.

Chicago +3

I know Caleb Hanie is starting for the Bears today but he did a decent job when he took over for Cutler in the NFC Championship game and that was against Green Bay. You never know when the next big guy is gonna step up in the NFL some great quarterbacks have started as backups. Not saying Hanie will be great like that necessarily but you never know. I think he will be serviceable at worst. Also, the Bears can rely on Forte and the defense and hopefully get something out of Hester so it's not like Cutler is their whole team even though he's having a great season. On the other side Oakland is banged up at receiver and Palmer has been doing a nice job but I think this Bears defense is one of the better defenses he will have seen since taking over. McFadden may or may not play either way Bush has been doing a nice job but I really don't see him running wild on the Bears, who are very strong against the run. Oakland did not win handily last week against Minnesota who turned it over five times and lost AP early. I see the Bears pulling out a hard fought win in this one.

Eagles +3.5

Just a funny feeling about this game that the Pats go on the road and struggle against a Philly team that is fighting to save their season. No I'm not wild about Vince Young but the Eagles did play well last week against the G-Men and perhaps a more conservative run-oriented and less turnover prone strategy is a better bet for this Eagles team. I think they find a way to get the job done in this one.
