Navy at Notre Dame huge write-up

Now normally I wouldn't do something like this, but I want to tell you why this is the best spot to lay points for Notre Dame all season.

#1 - Notre Dame's problems on defense has been stopping the pass.  Against Navy they won't have to worry about stopping the pass.  Notre Dame's rush defense is actually pretty good.  They have been steadily improving on that side of the ball in all aspects all season long.  I don't see the Irish having any trouble stopping the triple option this weekend.  Last 3 games for the Irish only allowing 97 yards a game.  That's against USC, Boston College, and Washington State.  Home Games they really have stopped the run.  Really shut down the Nevada team.  I don't really take anything from early on but I guess thats the most similar team, considering how much they run the football.

#2 - Possible return of Michael Floyd.  Most of you might have forgotten about Michael Floyd since Golden Tate has absolutely ripped it up this season, in his absense.  Michael Floyd is by far our best pure receiver, and personally I don't think their is a more dominant one in college football when on the field.  This season Michael Floyd has 13 catches for 358 yards and 5 touchdowns.  In just 2 and a half games.  That is staggering numbers, he is averaging over 27 yards a catch.  If he plays this week Navy will almost have no answer for Tate, Floyd and Rudolph and their defense will get shredded badly all day long.  Michael Floyd is the perfect receiver the combination of speed, strength, catching ability, jumping ability, he's just a freak of nature.  I can't stress enough if he plays, Navy won't have any answers.  Which opens up the running game which has improved greatly from last season.  The line has been opening up bigger holes.

#3 - Notre Dame is probably the best team in the country at protecting the ball.  I'd assume the only way Navy hangs around in this game is if we commit turnovers.  Which just has not been the case the entire season.  Jimmy Clausen has 18 touchdowns and only 2 interceptions.

#4 - Navy hasn't played anyone even close to being comparable to the passing attack of the Irish.  The closest statistically speaking is Southern MethodistA team they really struggled to beat.  Navy's passing defense may look good but they really haven't played a team that has a good passing attack.  Notre Dame has statistically the 8th best in the nation, but based on competion and all that I'd have to say they are definitely top 5.  Nobody can say that they are not.  Navy's secondary is in for an extremely long day with Floyd and Tate.  Assuming Floyd is playing.  Rudolph will also be a huge mismatch for anyone trying to cover him.  If they play soft zones we will gash them with the rushing attack and short passes all day.  They won't be able to double team Floyd and Tate.
Or Triple Team for that matter.  Which Tate has learned to break...

Navy's injury concerns.  Ricky Dobbs QB is questionable, one of the starting rbs Marcus Curry is also questionable.

Last years game @ Navy was really a laugher if you guys don't remember.  The game was 27-7, mind you this was a better Navy team, and definitely a worse Notre Dame team last season.  Anyway the game was 27-7, before Navy scored 2 late garbage touchdowns in the last 2 minutes of the game to make it 27-21.  Notre Dame really gashed them with the run, because our offensive line has a massive size advantage over Navy's front 7.  Remember our Rush offense was one of the worst last season and they put up 230 yards on these chumps.  I don't see us having any problems moving the ball what so ever in this game.  I don't see Navy stopping us, I don't see Navy really moving the ball.  The only way I think this game will be close is if Navy can force turnovers, but if history repeats itself Notre Dame will protect the ball just as normal.  Jimmy Clausen doesn't force the ball and does not make mistakes.  He has complete transformed since his Freshman year, to become I believe the best true thrower in the NCAA.  I believe Mallett is close, but I still think Clausen is better.

Again this play for me is going to be based on the return of Floyd.  Most likely I will not play the game if he doesn't play.  If I do I'll play it very small.  With Floyd in the game though I will be playing it fairly hard.

I would recommend.

Notre Dame -11, up to ND -14.   Large whatever Large is for you.

If I get Notre Dame -11 I will play it for 10 U's.  As I think this is a great spot to lay chalk with the Irish.  Will know Michael Floyd's status sometime tomorrow, probably very early unless I can come across something tonight.  I know he knows already, wish I could find out somehow.  Now I know I'm a homer.  But these are facts and the facts are the facts.  I truly believe that this will be a blowout.  I don't think this game will ever be close.  Thats why I feel it is warranting a very strong play.

Score Prediction

Notre Dame 38
Navy 17

Rip it up!  Make arguments.. Do what you think you can do.  Make any case for Navy that you think.

When you go to covers, click NCAA, click matchups.  Click Notre Dame vs. Navy blah.  Then scroll down and you all will see something lovely placed for everyone's eyes.

Road Team is 13-1 against the spread in the last 14 meetings.  I find that hilarious.  They place that for suckers to fall for.  This is going to be a blow out.  If Floyd goes the game won't ever be close.  If Dobbs doesn't go for Navy, they don't have a shot in hell.  Good Luck Degenerates.  Hope you all appreciate this, and take advantage of this.  Thank You..

Yeah I know, thats because that was what was originally reported.  Charlie Weis presser here in an hour.  So will know more than.  His collarbone healed a lot faster than expected.  He will return just not sure how soon.  Either this weekend or next weekend.

Honestly I haven't heard anything.  I'm about 99% sure that he will play though.  They might have been talking about Dayne Crist the backup QB.  He tore his ACL Saturday. They may have been talking about Evan Sharpley being the 2nd string.  I would have heard something.  He isn't not going to play in this game.  Just my opinion.  I'll listen to the PC.  They didn't even say anything about him yesterday.  I highly doubt he isn't going to play.  I assume he will be fine.

bense197969 - Yeah I about lost my mind in that last 2 minutes of the Michigan game.  It was driving me up the wall.  Again though Floyd had went out with a deep gash in his knee previous to this.  They I think were trying to put the game away.  They tried to go deep to Tate, but their was 2 or 3 guys covering him.  I couldn't figure it out either.  Bad clock and game management at that point.  Oh well man, then of course a shitty ass punt.

Finally a spot to back the Irish?  I hope you win big with this one.  I do like the points you make, I just seem to lose when I bet on an Irish game - they know when I do.

Your right Notre Dame isn't a covering machine by any means.  The writeup wasn't good enough for Vegas douche.  He said all I said is Tate is uncoverable.  He is a tool bag.  Trying to be a smart ass.. He's just made he went 1-6 in the NFL Sunday or some shit.

Yeah I think it is.  A lot of it depends on Charlies press conference in about a half hour.  Again nothing was good enough for VegasDouche, he seems to think I don't know what I'm doing.

Nice work man. Only thing i can think of is that they seem to always play close games, but that also is not that great of logic when spotting an inferior team. Convinced me to take it, just have to figure out for how much. Keep up the good work man hopefully the Irish crush them.

Thanks I appreciate that.  I don't ever let myself get talked out of things.  Unless I can kind of get a better view on things.  Now to be quite honest, sometimes I spend way less time on games then others.  Like last week I bet Jacksonville +3 just because Vince Young was starting literally.  Nothing else.  Even though I really wanted to hammer the Rams in that spot.  I loved them and didn't play it.  Oh well man.  I wish I did put more effort into some games more than others.  But thanks for this post.  I love it.  At least you see where I'm coming from.  I gotta go out tonight with the women taking her to dinner.  Might be back later.  Thanks again for the post.

FWIW - I like Navy - probably a lot - and I think writeups are total bullshit.

My most run math model has it 36-33 for ND - so on a neutral field I have Navy winning outright.

Just my opinion....

Here is the only thing I'm going to tell you about this game.  I obviously most weeks bet Notre Dame.  I always refrain from betting them too hard unless I have a pretty good idea that they are going to win/cover.  I bet them really hard against USC catching 10.  I bet them fairly hard in the 1h last week against Wazzou.  I bet them fairly strong against Nevada as well.  If you recall I gave you a pretty good writeup for that game as well.  I think writeups can be bullshit your right.  The thing is most of the time when I do, do a write up though its pretty accurate.  This will be a big bet on Notre Dame actually already placed it.  Personally, I really really think Navy matches up bad with us at this point.  I promise they won't get close to 30 points this week.  I think our run defense has improved since they have tweaked a few things.  Plus I don't know how much you have seen of Te'o yet but every week he seems to get better and equally more impressive.  He can run sideline to sideline and is very quick laterally.  I think that he will have a lot to do with stopping this option attack.  Once again last season they really couldn't get anything going against us.  Our defensive line from week 1 to now is 100% better again.  Mostly Sophmores on that defensive line that didn't play much last year.  They are 100 times better even since the Michigan game.  Floyd is going to make a huge impact in this game, just by being on the field.  Tate can't be double and triple covered all game.  They haven't really faced a passing attack like ours yet.  With the major improvements on the defense and the speed we actually have on the defensive line and at outside linebacker I don't think we struggle to stop the option attack.  I think Navy is a good team, don't get me wrong, I just think this is a really really good spot to load up on Notre Dame.  If you play Navy, good luck, but personally I don't think they have a chance in hell Saturday.  Just my take.  I'm a Notre Dame homer, but sometimes I'm a realest.  I did take my blinders off for this game.  I was hoping to get a line of less than 14.  They granted my wish.  Notre Dame by 17+.  Good luck Van.  Always appreciate your insight, and opinions.

Who, just post on your week 10 leans/plays that Floyd cleared to play ---LOL i guess u obviously already know that.

I read this write up 4 or 5 times already and will read it a couple more. I m convinced of the Notre dame play, however im uncertain as to how much $ to lay down. Liking your thoughts and agree ND will put up many point

s with all weapons back and healty. My only concern would be ND having some difficulties stopping the run and option attack. 11 out of 17 last contest between these 2 have been settled by 1 td or less. Navy's only loss by 10 pts or more came from Pitt (27-13 ) in week 2. Notre Dame only wins by 10 or more wash vs lowly Wash st. All other Notre Dame wins this season have been by3-7points.

Im with you buddy on the Irish, I just dont feel comfortable laying down a lot of doughon this one but i will be rooting hard cause I know your gonna truck it in

TRAIN69 says:

It also takes discipline to run. You have to have a smart/agile line , a smart/agile qb and fullbacks and running backs that arent too shabby. Most teams have 320 lb linemen so pulling or getting on the outside is not gonna happen for 4 quarters....Most qb wouldnt make it the whole season running the ball...they get smacked a ton when the defense pounces at the right time....For instance, 98 pound Jacory Harris would be pronounced dead after a game or two....

  1. ND has had issues in RZ without Floyd.  He is back which will turn FGs into TDs and Rudolph into an option.
  2. Chuck learned his lesson about closing out Navy last year.  He will not let them back into it this year.

Home Games they really have stopped the run.  Really shut down the Nevada team.

Tua carried 18 times for 114 yards- 6.3 yards per carry. I guess they "shut down" the QB holding him to 4 yards per carry ?  I was at the game and Tua had some HUGE holes to run through. They had to abandon the run after they fell so far behind so quick.

The Irish have thrived on turnovers- +11 for the season.  IF the turnover battle is even Navy will definitely keep the game within 7.

Trust me I know all about the option.  Trust me I ran the option for years in both middle school and high school and was one of the tailbacks in running it.  Now on to your points.  The dive play is what I was talking about that I was more worried about than anything.  Because what I was saying about the actual option play is I think our linebackers can cover some ground not allowing teams to actually get the corner.  That being said.  The cutback is always available as well, and is where over pursuing might be a problem.  Which I stated somewhere in this thread.  When they run the option and actually bring the QB and RB out I don't think that Navy can actually get to the corner.  If you understand what my thoughts on this are.  Now with the dive play, the first read for the Quarterback.  This is where I'm just a tad worried Navy could chew us up.  I really think Notre Dame can contain the option because last year they showed that they could.  I guarantee even though they probably shouldn't have, they put in extra work to prepare for it this weekend.  In preparing for Wazzou I mean.  The counter play could be a big play too, because of our defense over pursuing.  The passing out of the option doesn't necessarily concern me much because I think we will really be able to get pressure up front.  The cut blocking of Navy is another thing that concerns me injuries and such to take place.  That cut block is a brutal block and if you don't see it coming then it can really tear you up.  I think If Notre Dame can not so much just completely stop the option, because like you said its pretty hard to do.  But just contain it, not allow the big play, get them in tougher situations then yeah I think they can have a lot of success against it.  I'd really like to see us shut it down completely but of course that will not happen.  But again my point about the linebackers is that I just don't think that they will be able to get the corner thats all.  I didn't really want to get into a whole mess about what to do when defending the option like who has the QB who has the RB and all that type of stuff.  It was just a statement for big plays.  I just don't think they will be able to make big plays.  I will give you this it is tremendously hard to defend, because I know when we ran it shit I remember in 8th grade we beat a team 77-0.  It was pretty brutal they could just not stop our attack.  Almost unbelievable really.  Its not like we were even running up the score either.  Anyways thats all I was getting at.  I know what the option is, I know how it is ran.  I know what it does, and how it can be effective.  I thought you'd give me a little more credit than that.  Football is pretty much my life bro, I know everything there is pretty much to know about the sport in general.
Whodeysb09 says:
11/04/09 10:18PM

Yeah I mean even if it doesn't come in, which I have no doubts that it will.  I'm not even worried about backlashing from people.  It's not really a matter of that.  I just think this is a great spot for people to back the Irish for once.  I really don't think it was that great of a writeup good but not great.  But if you read the whole thread and read a lot of my posts in the thread then I think it turns into a great writeup.  Because of course people have questions and doubts and concerns and I like to answer that type of stuff.  That is what I really like to do.  It honestly really helps me see things even better than I feel I already do. Thanks for the props.  Good luck on your plays.  Stay cool.

It is a rivalry...It seems like Notre Dame plays a rival game every week.  I hate that we have so many damn rivalries.  I don't think it reaches 14.  Notre Dame hasn't made mistakes this season, so I don't know where you get that idea.  Clausen has 2 ints.  One slipped through the Running backs hands and the other was a hail mary.  So the Irish haven't really made mistakes.  That logic kinda stupid.  Navy is very disciplined though you are right.  One of the least penalized teams in the country.  Notre Dame isn't overrated.  Floyd changes the whole team around.  The dynamic of this team is completely different when he is on the field.  Good luck if you play Navy this weekend, watch the game, watch Floyd play....

I remember watching this game.  I remember watching Ohio State let up at several points.  It seemed they had the game pretty much in the bag at a couple points.  Also...Ohio State's offense is absolutely terrible..they hung 31 points on Navy.

It was 29-14 with around 6 minutes left, and then Navy hit an 85 yard pass to get it to 21-29.

Anyhow..that was week 1.  Navy can score points..  They have been held under 20 points only 3 times this season.  14, 16 ,10.

Plus you have to remember that Navy is in a classic look ahead spot with Delaware on deck

That was a joke.

Even I really don't think Notre Dame hits 40 this week.  They have only scored 40 points once this season.

I can certainly understand your concern.  Last year the numbers are a little skewed though.  I mean Notre Dame really dominated the football game, they are much better than last year, Navy in my opinion is pretty much the same team.  Navy scored two late touchdowns to make the game close.  Now I know this was last year and all that but the speed that Notre Dame has at defensive end and outside linebacker should really contain the option.  Even though I hate Kyle McCarthy in coverage, he is one of the surest tacklers you will find and plays really good close to the line, which I think will help in defending the option attack.  Notre Dames rushing defense has really come on since their bye week.  They have been extremely stout against the run.  I know coming into the Boston College game their running back his name is slipping my mind at the moment rushed for over 250 yards I think and had several touchdowns the week before against NC St.  They shut him down.  Ill say this...at points during the season I wondered if Notre Dame's defense would ever be a factor in helping us win a game.  They have been extremely bad at times, and have looked pretty good at times too.  I have noticed the defense has grown up a ton over the season.  You have to remember.  Besides Kyle McCarthy every one on that defense is a Junior or younger.  Most are getting their first college experiences and yeah, some have looked bad at times of course.  Then some have really started to play well, and as expected.  Kapron Lewis Moore, Darrius Flemming, Steve Filer, Manti Te'o, Ethan Johnson, are all in the front 7, Filer plays sometimes.  Dude is extremely fast by the way.  Blew my mind watching him chase down a QB last week.  Anyway.  All of those guys are Freshman and Sophmores...all of those guys with the exception of Ethan Johnson are all getting their first starts on defense this season.  Here is my best breakdown of the defense.  They are extremely young.  Extremely talented...very raw.  Very fast much faster than last season.  Kinda worries me that they could over pursue against this triple option this week.  That's really my only concern.  The player to watch and I'm calling it now is Ian Williams our DT.  The way he has played the last 4 or 5 games or so has been outstanding.  Look for him to get a lot of push up front and disrupt the option before it happens.  Thats the guy I'm really going to be watching.  Your right.  All games have been close.  Don't see it this season, just don't.  Again you lay what you believe small or large or nothing at all.  Just a few more tidbits.  I haven't really been on here all day felt like writing some shit.
Whodeysb09 says:

Its fine man, I get carried away in just about every post I make.  For some reason I can't refrain from letting my mind just go.  Its kind of sad the way I am.  Oh well anyways.  Like all your thoughts and points you made.  Although I personally don't think that Nevada is a good tell tale sign for this game.  I really didn't let that game affect my decision in this game what so ever.  Notre Dame's defense has been pretty bad at times throughout this season, but I see this very young defense starting to really grow up.  They have played incredibly well against the run, which I think teams figured out they could pass on us.  So that could be why, but again teams really try to run on 1st and 2nd and we have been shutting them down.  Then it gets to 3rd and long and we allow big pass plays.  Ridiculous.  I swear in 3rd and long situations this season I hold my breath everytime.  Tenuta needs to lay off the blitz sometimes in those spots.  I think he just wants to blitz every play, and I don't think we have the personel in the secondary to cover 1 on 1.  Blanton has been somewhat o.k. at points, in 1 on 1, Gary Gray too.  Everyone else has sucked.  Our safeties are equally bad against the pass, unless in a zone.  But McCarthy's strengths are playing the run and playing close to the line of scrimmage.  I think our linebackers are so fast that the option will be ineffective.  The fb for them is what worries me...

Whodey....You really don't have a clue on how the option works do you? I have went over this many many times on here about how to...and be successful against the option.

Linebackers having speed has ZERO to do with stopping the option...Ask Miami last year when they played G.T on that Thursday night when G.T racked up 500 yds rushing on them. AND BTW.....Miami has as much " Overall speed " as any team in the nation.

The option is about " The Dive Play"... You must defend it....Navy and teams that run the option will show you " The Dive " over and over until you bite on it too early...Then comes the Pitch..Then Comes Mid line..The comes Counter..Then Comes reverse...then comes Pass......

Notre Dame will win this game..I believe N.D has too much offense for Navy... the line is what -11 or 10.5... IMO..The game will be much too close for comfort. Im staying away just because I could see where N.D pulls away and score late to cover the spread...But, if you think N.D Will just stop the option....Your crazy bro...Nobody stops the option... IMO more teams should run it..

This is what the forum is for...right?  Now, let's hear your rebuttal..

Boom_Boom says:
11/04/09 06:05PM
beechernic - the option is about discipline..  nothing more than that..If a team stays disciplined for 60 minutes..they can stop it.. But you rarely see that..

The option is about, time of possession... Discipline ... and blocking..

The Pros are running it.. "Wild Cat" Formations.... It's just a version of the flex option or triple option..

And it's effective because it's hard to defend...not because teams don't see it...

Teams have been running this offense for a 100 years...

Why don't teams run it more?  Well, Because coaches cant sale it to top notch athletes coming into college...  " It's not Flashy "....

You know why I know the option is effective.... Look at Navy's team and the size and caliber of athletes they have.... They shouldn't even compete with Division 1 A Teams...

Under 55

Waiting for the line to go up to 14 and take the points.  Navy will continue to run the ball no matter what.  ND cant afford to make mistakes because Navy will continue to run the ball and control the clock.  Navy by far will be the most discipline team that ND has faced thus far.  Keep in mind this is still a rivalry game even though ND is overratted.

I had a lean on Navy plus 11, probably just going to pass.
ND has been a terrible 1-6ats this year as a favorite with the only cover coming week 1 against an upside down Nevada squad at that point. I think Navy won't be able to stop the pass and ND won't contain the run. maybe the over would be a better play. just going to pass. gl. go Irish.

BOL with the play. Solid write-up, I just don't have enough confidence to side with ND as a double digit favorite yet. The last 2 weeks have given me enough reason to proceed with caution on the Irish.

I will say that the only team that's actually passed well on Navy is Pitt. And Pitt has a top 10 back in the nation in Dion Lewis. Navy simply had to stack the box which gave Stull a lot of options. SMU was held well below their season average, Rice didn't do anything until they were down by 40+, etc. Agreed that Navy hasn't seen anything like ND yet though.

Also, Ricky Dobbs is starting at QB for Navy.
Rollbama1237 says:

Navy took Ohio State to the brink this season and put up 27 points on an excellent defense...this team can score points.

Boom - we obviously have different opinions about NDs ability to run the option, but fundimentally the opinions are the same.  I wont discuss the Wildcat and the option because I dont agree, but I WILL say you stressing the dificulty of defending the option makes me contemplate my pick.

THAT, my friend, is a great arguement.  THAT, my friend, is a great rebuttal.  This was obviously a Pro-Notre Dame thread, and you added very poetically, and with fact based opinions, to the contrary.

I want to take a moment this morning to thank you for being constructive in your disagreement.  There is way too much blind bashing that goes on in this Effin Forum.  And your eloquent tone has come across very effective.  Thank you.

ND -11

Beechernic says:
11/05/09 08:59AM

When discussing THIS option style, we all need to remeber that many teams run a variation of the option.  FLA, WVU, ORE, UTA, etc... (the list can go on).   But those teams just run the QB read (dive/veer) option.

The option Navy, Army, GT, AF run is more the hidden ball trick.  Its a SOLID triple option with more options off of it.     I dont think we all need to agree on what side of the spread we pick, but (for those that really know) lets try to address for others what Navy will really be running.

Beechernic says:
11/04/09 04:35PM

Whodey,     I have to admit,   I am always against ND, despite an Irish GF and strongly opinionated Bro-in-Law.  I have done very well fading them this year.  (note last weeks non-cover in the next paragraph)  And reading a write up manifested from someone sporting the Avitar is usually useless.

With that said...I couldnt agree with you more.  GREAT WRITE UP!!!      Very valid points.  Especially with Nevada (although a while back).  Thats a great spot to grade yourself against the option.  ND's seen that, done that, exploited that.  I am positive that, defensively, the Irish spent all this week PLUS a few days last week working on the option.

The last 2 years ND's been a joke (part of my anti-TD Jesus this year), so those close games to Navy dont bother me.  Charlie obviously took his foot off the gas in last week's 2nd half.  Very smart move.  We've seen a few QBs knocked out of the game this year when the football gods deem appropriate.  Come to think of it that part bothers me.  Navy (another team made up of armed forces) has that special quality inside that others dont posess.  Never say die, never quit.     Yes, I could name 5 other teams (rather quickly) that I feel have the same qualities, but I just dont think that even THOSE teams have that upper echelon mentality that being overseas, or being in a situation preparing you to go overseas furnishes you with (note 2 TDs in 2 final min as you originally said).  I hope I'm not talking anyone out of thise, im just brain storming here.

In addition to the Leprechauns chalk win, the Over looks rather inticing.  This could very well be a game in which both offenses expose the oppositions deffensive weakness.  This year ND & Nav have combined to play in 8 games with DD spreads.  Those games went 6-2 (O-U).  In 8 of those 8 games the total was surpased by an average of 5pts [this includes the ND game where Nev failed to score ANYTHING.  (see paragraph 2 again)]  I doubt Navy will fail to reach the colored grass (never say, remember) and this gives me one more shot at a score.

Sorry for deflecting any spot light from thread - I got carried away.

Good Luck, Ill be coat tailin ya here!!!!!

Beechernic says:
11/04/09 05:33PM

Boom Boom - If no one could stop the option, you would see it in the pros...   The option is effective because no one sees it, no one is prepared for it.  This is the sole reason Clemson's option was ineffective against Miami.  They had already seen GATk run it.  (haha - the result of the game excluded of course )

All - IMHO, Defending the option is like kick coverage.  Stay in your lane.  Speed, Athleticism, and Discipline.   Be responsible for you position and job.  Staying Home!!!  If everyone is accountable for thier own position (players have to break down the plays into mini-games) then there is no reason to cheat, get caught out of position, and give up the big play.  Blitzing will be detrimental to the Irish.  DO NOT BLITZ... and we all know they do it 3 times too many per defensive stand.

They beat Nevada by 35 points because Nevada had 3 turnovers, missed a FG, and got stopped on downs. ND had no turnovers and scored mainly on deep passes. One of the most mis-leading scores of the year.

I posted earlier that Tua ran wild that day, the same sort of holes up the middle you are seeing today.  Navy's just not giving the game away like Nevada and most of ND's other opponents have done all year.

I'm going to add one more thing to this and why this is setting up to be such a blowout.  Navy is really really banged up.  They have played 9 straight games without a bye.  9 games without a bye.  They have to be really hurting at this point.  They are exhausted.  They are hurting..After 2 straight home games and SU home loss to Temple they have to go take on a more physical, more talented...probably extremely hungry football team.  This Notre Dame team has a lot of heart, and is really really motivated.  There was a point in the Washington State game where they showed a circle of Irish players and Charlie Weis standing in the middle of all of them.  He was yelling and screaming at them and showed a lot of intensity and fire.  I love that,  I really haven't seen anything like that from him all year.  After that the players came out and were extremely sharp.  Clausen told the players after the USC game that they weren't going to lose another game this season, and I'm going to take his word for it.

Let me add this........ I do love the Option... it's a Brilliant offense...

I take that back. You can predict Weis' horrible play-calling in the red zone. 1st and goal at the 3 and your O-line outweights the DLine by average of 45+ pound, let's run a slow-developing pitch outside for a loss.

NOtre Dame is easily the most overrated team in college and professional sports.. the fact they have been mentioned as a BCS bowl bid team is a crime against humanity.. Navy hasnt thrown a pass since 1958 and still are moving down the field at will..

Put NOtre Dames players in another uni and they are nothing more then a middle standing team in any decent conference

I just relly hope they dont moose me like the fucking heartless temple owl douchbags!!!!. This damm temple team hurt bro. I took them early and often and line kept going up and i took them again. true ----no real logic bro just stupid move on my part. I let myself get overhyped on the temple game added to my play as i thought in my head that temple was gonna win something like 48-14. I did hit small play on over and cashed nicley on ECU 2nd half under so all is well. liking your card this week and Notre Dame should pull away. I also like the Notre Dame to go over the total as well.

Hmmmm. Lets get a few things clear, ND was not good last year. They had the offensive components, but lacked great O-line play, which is exactly what they have this year!

Although the Defense has been 90 yards per game WORSE than last year, they have a better knack for producing turnovers.

Nevada has the best run-attack in nation? correct me if im wrong? they scored a whopping 0 @ ND.

Ricky Dobbs?! Or hesiman winner Jimmy Clausen?

Yeah, ND is a bad team to take as a big favorite. BUT Manti Teo has been all over the field on the run D lately..... I took ND at -11. If ND get up 14 to 0 NAVY cant run back into this one. O yeah Michael Floyd. Ha tell me Navy has a Corner to stop him, double him and you will see Tate, and Rudolph play off his decoy. Kamara, parrish, TOMA- from hawaii! I mean this offense is packed, no doubt. Couple fumbles on the option and its over. ND should roll.

God Bless NAVY

ndtoronto says:

ND RB Armando Allen and RG Trevor Robinson will not play as per Charlie's Press Conference

Looks like Hughes will start at RB and that changes the Wildcat big time for ND

Allen is Jimmy's main receiver for short passes when he checks off the first two. This will take alot out of the dink and dunk game for ND

Still see it

Halftime  ND 20 Navy 3

Final ND 38 Navy 16

Notre Dame's next coach will be Urban Meyer.  After he wins another National Championship this year with Florida (3rd in 4 years if anyone is counting) he will bounce to the Irish.

The reasons:
1.)  The Notre Dame school and alums will present him with a HUGE contract
2.)  It's his dream job (don't forget the buyout clause in his current contract with Florida)
3.)  Tebow will be gone
4.)  He will be bored with the Florida job and be seeking a new challenge.

Nice writeups are good if they are WINNING writeups!! Any handicapper is only as good as his record. Mighta, wooda, shooda, coulda don't cut it in handicapping. Books do no pay off on that. There are only two sides to a game. Other than a push there is a winning side and a losing side. Forget last week and get ready for this week.

Whodey----is an excellent capper BE THAT KNOWN.

All the pieces of shit that are upset for him picking Notre DAme in this great write up and loosing should probably not be betting money if they cant take a loss. Notr Dame should have won and covered but credit to Navy where credit is due. Navy played the best game they have played all year. They got it done and ND didnt.

Again I say Whodey is an excellent capper maybe all you sour shit talkers should just try to hanicap your own games and not play someone elses picks then be upset and bash when they lose. If you wanna play based on someone elses picks then you have nobody to blame for losses but yourselfs. It is absolutley 3rd grade to come in here and talk smack about Whodey because of a game that lost. If you had any clue how to handicap football then you would be making your own picks and hopefully understand gambling includes winning and loosing. Imo you people that bash because someone calls for a win and you lost your lunch money on it are total scum. Stop playing with money you dont have and make your own picks. If you loose you loose. Whodey had a very nice write up and opions on this game. HE DID NOT FORCE ANYONE TO PLAY

Whodey keep em coming buddy and againg hope all is well with you and your family at this time of loss in your life. Best wishes

Anyone who disagreed with him on this was put down by him within minutes of posting

I am a ND fan and listed two injuries to 2 offensive starters and I was put down for that

ND has to be the worst team in CFB for covering the spread for the last 10 years maybe even longer then that.

Whodey the man.  No capper can win them all.  If you followed all his big plays you be up over at least 50 units. No bet is ever 100% guaranteed.  But if Whodey endorses it it like 95% believe it!!
