How the hell is this guy still pitching in the big leagues? I mean, he was a decent pitcher back when I was 7 years old but I'm 30 now. He's 5-2 and his numbers haven't drop off significantly. Does this mean that these players of a comparable age could still be striking out major leaguers? Keep in mind Moyer was born in 1962. It's now 2010.
Doug Drabek - 1962 - Won the Cy Young Award back in 1990. His son is now a top prospect with the Blue Jays.
Bret Saberhagen - 1964 - Won the Cy Young for the Royals in 1989 with an amazing 23-6 record and a 2.16 ERA. Also won the award in
1985! This guy is younger than Jamie Friggin Moyer.
Black Jack McDowell - 1966 - This former AL Cy Young Winner last pitched in 1999. If he'd been eating Magic Moyer Munchies all this time he could still have 4 years left in that arm.
All the respect, grandpaps.
Zarley.
