One of the bigger plays I've done so far this season..
My main play
Phillies -1.5RL -130 7UNITS
The Phillies got just what they needed after taking it from the Astros in that 4 game sweep, a win! That's all they needed folks, now their ready to roll again and maybe even go on a huge winning streak.
Even if Lee slumps yet again this game.....alright then, lets put him on even footing with Mock. I still think Philly will roll easily here. His Philly teammates know they need Lee to contend for the big one, and Lee knows he needs them. Give back and shall receive..
So, at least one side or the other will need to realize that, and that'll be all that's needed for a easy win here. Also, the Phillies pattern of winning and losing skids this season, fits perfectly for them to start winning big here, especially when you consider their opposition they will be facing.
Consider too, that Lee is a proven Cy Young pitcher, it's not like the league has figured him out... So don't put it out of the question he pitches a gem here as long as he's back "with it" again. There's just way too many overwhelming aspects that can go right, for Philly here.

My mainplay
Giants RL -1.5 -120 3UNITS
Taking Lincecum here, who is consistently outstanding at home. Correia is decent for sure, but his WHIP on the road is horrid, especially for a National League pitcher.
San Diego has won their last four series's (
is this a word? ), but they have been against Florida, Atlanta, Washington, and the Dodgers... all of which are either not so good or overrated opponents. I'm of the opinion that the Giants are not quite as overrated or as bad as those other teams, especially on their home field. Though I bet, that the Giants are taking San Diego seriously, taking notice they just beat the Dodgers on a road series.
I think San Diego's road warrior reputation of late, will take a bit more of this reality check in San Francisco once again, and they continue on and lose game 2 of this series by at least 2 runs.

Good thing I suspected Thursday's games would be tricky, and I went low on units yesterday, as all 3 of my single unit plays crashed and burned. Thankfully, my main play on the Mariners went smooth sailing....
I'm liking Friday's games much better
These sides aren't locked in yet, but these will probably be in my final card:

My Main Play:Mariners +118 4UNITS
As much of a longshot it is for the Mariners to make the playoffs, they will not waste their window of opportunity they have in their hand at the moment, given the fact they just beat the Angels in a series to give them some genuine hope.
Snell has been one the best pitchers of August, if you take away his one bad outing against the Yanks. Yeah, Tomko has been completely solid his first 3 starts, but he's no proven ace in my book. I'm willing to bet against the fact, that he'll only allow 2 or less runs in all of his first 4 starts this year. I........ I just don't see it happening......
It also seems like a regularity, that when Oakland scores a lot of runs in their previous game, they have a lot trouble getting their bats going in the following game.

Here is my main play tonight:
Rockies RL -1.5 -130 6UNITS
Redding isn't that bad, and I'm by no means sleeping on him... But considering last game, now knowing that the Rockies bats are back and ready to roll after a long slumber, they simply blowout this Mets team once again..
Rockies are still angry from the Dodgers/Giants beatdown, and one blowout game is not enough to vent their anger.
Also consider with Jimenez on the mound for the Rocks, the Mets will be lucky to match the 3 runs they put up yesterday. And lets face it, the Mets are slowing becoming maybe the worst team in baseball at this moment.
Here are the others:

Haven't posted a play thread in a while, but I am finally putting plays in wagerline daily now for the hell of it, and also still posting in WBA's play of the day thread.
Here's who I've decided to put my money on tonight:
Cubs RL -1.5 +110 3UNITS
Now, 95% of the time it's a lose/lose situation to bet on the Cubs. They are by far the most overrated team by the linemakers for about the whole season, and they are still getting away with it by the stupid public and supposed smart bettors who think "line is got to be that high for a reason...", playing as just another bitch to the line.
But here we go, Houston actually have been worse than the Cubs lately, and the Cubs are playing better than they were a couple weeks ago. Moehler is no Oswalt, and Wells is the Cubs ace in my book. And the first thing you look for in an ace, is if they just had a shaky outing their last game... which means Wells will have great desire to perform to his standards this game.
Cubs usually don't have desire, but when they can get it from anything or anyone on their team, they easily win games like this one...
Rockies RL -1.5 -115 3UNITS
Rockies are extremely hungry right now to vent their anger and beat the living crap out of some gimpy bums right about now........
Pelfrey is a proven clown on the road, now he's welcomed to Coors field! La Rosa has been decent these last couple months. Sure I'm laying a bit of juice here on a team on a hu...

Alright, my last few days have been dreadful... It's been paining me to sit through these games...
Going big on these plays, and if at least two don't hit, I'm gonna take a short break.
Now these are completely reliant on a "spot" system I've been using as a guide. But I should have been just tailing this system almost exclusively, when it has a really big "spot" difference. I would be doing so much better lately....
It determines these spots by each team's recent win/loss pattern, and considers absolutely nothing else... No pitching, stats of any kind, no strength of opponent or the team itself, no win margins... just wins and losses from recent games. It doesn't even differentiate home and away...
Nor does it consider if a team is playing for contention...
I know, it's pretty amateur
Here is what it rates each team's "spot" right now:
Seattle Mariners 5
Cleveland Indians 5
Milwaukee Brewers 1.5
Washington Nationals 3
Los Angeles Angels 6
Toronto Blue Jays 2.5
Cincinnati Reds 4.5
Pittsburgh Pirates 5
Philadelphia Phillies 5
New York Mets 3
New York Yankees 5
Boston Red Sox 5.5
Florida Marlins 3.5
Atlanta Braves 6.5
Texas Rangers 4.5
Tampa Bay Rays 3.5
Arizona Diamondbacks 2

Indians +140 4Units (lets see if rain holds up by then)

Took a day off yesterday from capping since having that disastrous Friday. I'm glad I put a little parlay on the opposite side of all three of my big plays just in case, since Bator was on the other side on all 3...

Glad I went low volume yesterday, since I went 1-2...
But I love some of these values for Friday, I think it could possibly be a good dog day, but I decided to lay off from the big dogs...
I'm not going to over think this card so much, I will just try to take the easy winners and the dogs that can easily steal a win, that just have too much value....
While I have leans on games such as Rays, Dodgers, and Astros.... and heck the Cubs are so bad right now I'd even think of the Pirates with that value .......
I'm trying harder to find out which are the coin flip games, and which are the easy ones. Also with finding the value plays where I can sense that team giving a damn to win, more so than their opponent.. And it's not as easy as "That team needs to play catchup to get in wild card and/or to win their division...", wish it was always that easy...
Basically I'm just reminding myself to try harder, and of course its an obvious suggestion to myself. It just helps to keep reminding myself...
..

Ok, whatever I was rambling about... I'll just stop and give the plays. No write ups right now, since I need to get ready for work.

High volume yesterday, but hit my higher unit plays and got through it making some money. But the
big bonus was hitting a 4-way with Marlins, Padres, Angels, and the
Tribe
Plays
Rangers THunter ML -115 1Unit
Indians FCarmona
Carmona is my favorite pitcher on my hometown team, so
it's a bit hard for me to bet against him. But even though he's been
solid since his first two starts since being brought back up from the
minors, I still see potential here for him to maybe have a slightly
shaking outing this time around.
He got out of trouble, whenever he had men on scoring position the last
two games... but he had to do this all too often in those two starts.
Now the Rangers are homerun machines, and if Carmona starts innings
slowly once again, walking or throwing meat balls to the first and
second hitter of each inning.... the runs will start piling up this
time around
I also see Texas being good enough to bounce back on the road with Hunter on the mound, they've been playing decent enough and know they can't fool around with the playoff race looming..
Padres KCorreia ML +120 2Units
Brewers CVillanueva
Padres are hitting all too well to lay off on them. They
know they have underachieved earlier in the year with their bats, and
now they are confident, and have the pitching advantage in my opinion.
They just saw Vilanueva 10 days...

I'm going to post a total play for the first time ever... Here are the plays:
Plays
A's +150 1u
Maybe a trap, maybe not...still rolling with Gonzalez on the mound, he's looked sharp in-game lately.
Yankees -143 1u
Think of this play like Bator rolling with the Nats constantly until
you actually see the hot streak come to an end, for certain! Except,
this time your laying juice so it's not as nearly as great an
investment. I'm still taking it, since the Yanks haven't had many
letdown games for a while. I'm trying not to worry about the pitching
matchup...
Cubs +127 1u
When a team that is somewhat decent: 1. has a game where probably their best pitcher gives way more runs than expected 2. The team gets a season high on hits, but leave like 90% men on base. And 3. Get majorly screwed on a play call...
They are feeling pressure, but also probably a bit pissed off as well... A good combination, at least in my book.
I took the Cubs Sunday, and it looked like nothing could go the Cubs
way that game. And it seemed like cake, watching the game, if you had
the Rockies that game. And you know what usually happens the following game....
Marlins RL +120 2u
I don't really care about the pitching matchup... The Marlins are
officially hot, and beat some legit competition to heat up like this.
Houston have been pretty bad for the most...

Made it out on the plus side yesterday. I'm gonna try going with some dogs this time... Let me know how you like the writeups since I normally don't do any, probably since I'm not the most confident of a writer...
But I'm bored and want to give it a try, so here goes...
Plays
(Indians) JMasterson
+115 1u
(WhiteSox) CTorres
Hope I don't jinx my hometeam...
This may seem like the spot where the Indians line value drops to something more realistic...... after coming up with the huge upset last night against Mr. Perfect, to keep their run chugging, and now finally the public realizes this Indians run is for real.
Now, Torres probably has more upside to put on a great outing, but the problem with a rookie pitcher on the his second start, after putting on a decent debut on his first... is that sigh of relief that comes from that their debut is over and done with and the fact it also went smoothly enough... is that they can sometimes forget that their career hasn't even begun to start yet, or have proved yet that they indeed belong here.
These hot Indians bats can get to Torres's head in a hurry. I also think the WhiteSox's lineup hasn't had enough hitting throughout it to continue offensive rallies lately.
Probably also a good over play, even though I don't play totals...
