Are you taking the dogs on the PL? or maybe you like fav's on the ML.
Are you a PL or a ML bettor?
How long into the season do you wait before you start betting on hockey?
I like to take the underdogs on the PL, especialy if I can get them + 1.5. There is nothing I hate more than taking a favorite to win - 1.5 and they are down 3-0 after the 1st period, it is already over at that point.
I like to take dogs SU if I can find a dog that has a great chance of the upset, I usually bet on Saturday nights, but I will bet at anytime if I can find an edge somewhere.
