Alright, alright, alright.  Time to get down to business.    You can check out my card from last week here.  I tried to get creative with the teasers and parlays and it bit me in the ass (down 1.6 units for the week)!   Gonna play it straight this week.  Here are my leans for Week 14.  I'll post the writeups and selections as I lock them in.  As always, comments and thoughts are welcome!

Thanks, Tony.  SuperBad was an instant classic (in my book, at least).  Looking forward to watching Penn St. in the Rose Bowl!

Captain - are you playing Miss. St. and Colorado?  Or are those just "no-plays" for you?

BigFrank - thanks for the shout out.  I'm going to hit up your card shortly.  Love the Christina model avatar!

Locked in the following:

Missouri  -14  --- Kansas has been exposed by their tougher schedule this year.  They may not have Sharp or Meier, and they're banged up at LB and DB.  KU is 0-4 SU vs. OK, TT, UT, and Neb, getting outscored by 23 ppg.  Coffman returns for Mizzou, and Daniel will carve up the weak KU D.

Missouri   45     Kansas   20

New Mexico St  +6  --- The Aggies have covered two in a row for me (see last week's writeup), and the offense has it's stride with the return of the top 2 WR and top RB.  Holbrook was 45-60 for 486 yards and 4 TD last wek!  he's gonna make it rain all day on Utah St.'s #104 Pass D.

New Mexico St.   41     Utah St.   34

Texas Tech  -21  --- The Red Raiders have absolutely owned Baylor, winning 12 straight by an avg. of 30 ppg and covering 8 of 9.  Baylor vs. OU, Tex, OK St. = outgained by 267 ypg and outscored by 26 ppg.  Harrell throws for 400 yards and 5 TD's in his final home game.

Texas Tech   52     Baylor   21

More writeups to follow!

Two more locked in:

Nevada  -4  --- This is a mtachup of strength on strength (Nevada's great rushing offense vs. La. Tech. good rushing D, and vice versa).  In matchups of strength on strength, look to the team who just does it better.  Nevada has owned this matchup and Kaepernick and Taua continue that trend.

Nevada  41     La. Tech   30

Rice  ML  --- Pretty simple explanation for this pick.  Houston is 1-4 SU and ATS on the road this year, while Rice is 5-0 SU and 4-1 ATS at home.  Houston is a different team on the road, and the Clement/Dillard combo will shine on Senior Night!

Rice  44     Houston   38

I may play Miss st and Colorado, one or the other and I lay off the one that I won't play

Love that you locked in on Mizzou, Nevada, New Mexico St., Rice and Texas Tech. Great Picks. I will be on the same side. You seem to know your stuff regarding the WAC. My best caps come from the WAC as I am a UH Warrior fan. I'm a HOMER.

pimpdaddy - With your record, if you like most of them, I'll take that as a sign of good things to come!

capt. hawaiian - go with what you know best, my friend.  You've been terrific capping the WAC this year, so I'm looking forward to cashing with you this weekend!

ksper - BOL!

Locked in the following plays:

Virginia Tech  -8  --- This is more of a play against UVA, as VT should shut down Verica and his 8-15 ratio.  Not a lot of offense in this game, but VT needs a win to capture the Coastal Division title and the D/ST ge tthe job done.

Virginia Tech  24     Virginia   6

Temple  -2.5  --- DiMichelle threw for 370 yards and 6 TD's last week and now has an 18-4 ratio on the year.  Temple has played every MAC team tough this year and I like their chances of finishing up with a home win over a porous Akron D.

Temple  41     Akron   34

LSU  -4.5  --- I think LSU has a nice bounce-back game here.  They've played 5 straight at home and heard the boos against Ole Miss.  They'l thrive on the road against a banged up Arkansas squad allowing 440 ypg over the last 3 weeks.  SEC is 2-0 as an away favorite this year.

LSU 34     Arkansas  24

Nebraska -17  --- Colorado is avg. only 15 ppg in Big 12 play!  SInce the loss to Mizzou, the Cornhuskers have averaged over 500 ypg and 38 ppg.  Colorado is 0-4 SU and ATS on the road this year, and Ganz and co. should have their way with the mediocre Buffaloes D.

Nebraska   45     Colorado   17

Teaser --- Pitt +3.5 / UTEP +12.5  --- I know, I pussed out a bit on these two games, but I just couldn't resist the points!  Pitt has the #1 scoring offense in the Big East and will viciously defend their home turf in the Backyard Brawl.  I told you last week about how much I love Trevor Vittatoe and the UTEP offense and he did not disappoint against Houston (27-45 for 362 yards and a 4-0 ratio).  UTEP needs a win to become bowl-eligible and will not stop fighting against an East Carolina team that is 1-8 ATS over its last 9 games.

Pitt   27     West Virginia   24

East Carolina   38     UTEP   35

Teaser --- Pitt +10.5 / UTEP +12.5 --->   I know, I know ... I'm an idiot for teasing these games       Vittatoe, why hath you forsaken me?

Ole Miss -16.5 --->

Temple -2.5 --->

LSU -4.5 --->   A big round of applause for LSU choking this game away    Try holding onto a 16 point lead next time ...

Nebraska -17 --->    The play of the game was the fake FG by Neb.  It's pretty tough to give up 30 points when you hold a team under 300 yards of offense, but they managed.

Va. Tech. -8

Mizzou -14

Nevada -4

New Mexico St. +6

Tex Tech -21

Rice ML
