Well, last week started off looking so good with early wins on Ole Miss, Pitt, Temple, and Rice ... but then the roof came crashing down!     UTEP, New Mexico St., LSU (on the last play), Nebraska, TT, Mizzou ...

Oh well, that's why God created championship week and bowl games!

Anyways, here is the opening play for my Week 15 card.  I'll update as I lock them in.

As always, thoughts and comments are appreciated!

USC -30.5

Statistically speaking, this is Pete Carrol's best team.  It's his best defensive team, third best offensive team, and biggest point differential.  The only question with the matchup against UCLA is how many points the Trojan D/ST will score.  I do like UCLA's defense, but the Bruin offense will not stay on the field (maybe 150 yards??) and will continually put the D in holes all game long ...

USC  45     UCLA  3

Also, leans on:

Alabama +10
Oklahoma -16.5
Cal -33.5
Pitt +2.5
Va. Tech.  +1
West Virginia -7

GL, everyone!  Thoughts and commens are welcome!

McLovin' ... Sounds like a sexy hamburger

I like every one of those plays except for Bama. I have it at -9.5

I like Pitt, but I'm getting them at +3.  Also like Oklahoma -16.5.

I'm on the other side with BC -1 and I'm thinking about playing that under 39.5 too.  BOL bud.

thatguy - the more I look at this game, the less likely I am to play it.  Statistically, Florida looks to be far superior to Bama.  However, I don't want to give 9.5.  I'll just be

Snook - thanks for the shout out.  GL!

Locking in the following:

Cincy -7

This is a bit of a tough spot for the Bearcats as they already have the Big East title wrapped up and are traveling 5,000 miles to Hawaii.  However, under BCS rules, should Cincinnati lose this game and fall out of the top 16, the Orange Bowl has the option of replacing them with another at-large qualified team (so the 'Cats will come to play).  Hawaii is among the worst teams in the nation in TO's lost and sacks allowed.

Cincinnati  38     Hawaii  21

I'm looking at a few more of my leans above, but I have eliminated Cal (reached 35) and Alabama.

Any thoughts on the other leans are greatly appreciated!!

I took Cincy -7 also.  I don't think they travel all the way out there to not show up.  Coach will have them ready to feast on a terrible Hawaii team.

I layed off the Pitt game and put another 2 units on BC as a pick.  Also hit Rutgers -10 and Oklahoma -17 pretty hard.

BOL this week bud.

snook - i hear you, brother, and here's to a big-time card for Saturday.    However, I'm throwing down on VT!

Locking in the following:

Virginia Tech PK

BC's defense feasts on TO's, but Tyrod Taylor's scrambling ability will make up the difference.  VT's defense should have a good game against a QB making his second career start, and making it in the ACC title game (where VT travels well) .

Virginia Tech  20     Boston College  13

Oklahoma -17

Missouri's defense is just not equipped to go score for score with the Sooners.  All it will take is a couple TO's or 3-and-outs on the part of the Tigers to turn this game into a rout.  Check out Bradford's ratio ... Oklahoma wins the TO battle and the game.

Oklahoma  55     Missouri  31

Pitt ML

McCoy and Co. are coming off the Backyard Brawl, which could be a tough spot for the Panthers.  However, their defense was instrumental in slowing down the Mountaineers, and now they travel to play one-dimensional UConn .  As long as Pitt doesn't lose the TO battle, they win the game.

Pitt  27     UConn  17

Tulsa -13

Three words sum up this bet ... "Tulsa" "at" "home".  61 ppg at home vs. an East Carolina team avg. 19 ppg on the road.  If this game were being played anywhere else, I wouldn't lay the points.  In Tulsa, though ... I've been riding Tulsa at home all year and I'mnot jumping off the train now .

Tulsa  48     East Carolina  24

Final Card:

USC - 30.5

CINCY -7

VT PK

OKLAHOMA -17

PITT ML

TULSA -13.5

Best of luck to everyone this weekend!      On the West Coast, we'll be watching football all day.  From Pitt/UConn at 9 am through Cincy/Hawaii ending at midnight!
