I know the postseason is a "new" season and all situational spots are different but I'm just wondering what Vikings backers have to say about this:

If you throw out the garbage game at the end of the year where the Giants quit, did you know Minnesota only played 6 games all season against offenses ranked in the Top 20? That's right, they played 10 of 16 games this year against offenses in the bottom 12 of the league (counted the Giants here because they quit).

Look what their defense did (or didn't do) against those 6 offenses in the Top 20:

Points allowed: 23, 31, 27, 26, 30, and 26 for an average of 27.1 per game.

Yards allowed: 424, 448, 259, 331, 398, and 397 for an average of 376 per game.

Opposing QB completion %: 70, 65, 54, 63, 69, and 64 for a total of 137 passes complete out of 212 or 65%.

Opposing QB Yards Per Attempt: 10.4, 9.0, 6.7, 7.0, 8.9, and 9.1

Opposing Yards Per Carry allowed: 4.8, 4.5, 5.6, 4.7, 4.5 and 3.1

Opposing QB Ratings: 110.6, 109.2, 87.8, 108.5, 127.7, and 123.2

Opposing QB TD/INT Ratio: 14-1

The Vikings went 3-3 SU and 2-4 ATS in those games with 2 wins coming over Green Bay and the other on a last second missed FG by Baltimore.

minny also beat gbay twice who punched the cowboys in the mouth in gbay. minny beat the giants who dumped the cowboys twice. maybe my giants quit but never the less. lets see what happens if allen greenway and the williams boy stop the run and romo is forced to throw. i dont see the boys shutting down the vikes offense and i see harvin breaking off at least 1 big return.

Hoping Romo is due for his late season choke. Keep your eyes on Harvin. When he has a big game, it usually opens things up for AP and Rice. Vikes need to get him the ball early with some short stuff and let him spread the Boys out. Then AP on the ground and Rice and "The Tripod" Schiancoe through the air. My homer-ass prediction is Vikes 31 Boys 23.

You need to seperate Minnys home/away stats. The numbers posted for Minnesota are not offensive and defensive home pure(raw) points. This is where people make their mistakes. Same goes for Dallas also. The last 2 games Dallas played at home vs a Philly team without their center and juggled OL is irrelavant.

Minnesota is at home not on the road. Dallas is on the road not at home. Lets concentrate on those series pure point stats. First Dallas .

The KC game was long ago, However, the games Dallas played at NYG and GB were not. Those games are an integral part of thier most recent overall road performance. How can anyone guage a team ( Dallas) playing on the road using their home stats. How can anyone gauge a team ( Minny) playing at home using their road stats. This is counter intuative.

Dallas last 4 road opponents were Wash/NO/NYG/GB

Wash: Dallas won 17-0.?, Wash has a good defense...yes vs a 30th ranked schedule. Just like GB with their 32nd ranked schedule had a good defense until they met Arizona. However, Wash had very bad rating and were a very bad team as a whole,Thats why they were listed in the bottom five of the league on my personal ratings chart.

New Orleans: solid team? ..yes. However, they dipped 7 rating points from where they were when they last played NE. Why? Injuries to most of the offense including the center and most of the defense Sharper Gay DLine etc. The coach kept those guys out for a reason , healing. He knew what was coming up down the road.

NYG: Dallas lost, scored 21 pure ppg and gave up 31ppg not to impressive

GB the defensive fraud: Dallas lost, scored only 7 pppg and gave up 17 on defense

Dallas's overall ave opp power rating last 4 away 22.5

Minnesota last 4 home opponent

NYG: Yes they quit ,Take them out of the equation

Cinn : Cinn had the same offesive pureppg numbers and the same defensive pppg numbers prior to this game, that Dallas has going into the game they play with Miiny today. Minny cruised 27-10 pure ppg

Chicago Bad team..gee they beat Minny up on MNF must not be that bad...however they were. Minny crushes them 36-10 pppg.I dont see Dallas crushing any of their lame ass road opponents by that margin

Seattle Minny 35-10 pppg crush

Minnys overall AOPR last 4 home :19.Thats only 3.5 points less in opponents rating than Dallas.

My point is this and its very simple. Minny has crushed their home competition or weak schedule that the NFL put in front of them by 20 pppg with a score margin of 128-36. Thats a 32 pppg offense and a 9 pppg defense.

Dallas has a 55-58 pppg scoring margin vs the teams they played mentioned above. Thats a 14.5 pureppg offense and a 14 pppg defense vs almost the same schedule or caliber of teams Minnys played at home

Minny 32-9

Dallas 14-14 Final score Minny 30 Dallas 10

Let the media keep hyping up Ware and the Dallas defense.Thats not where their problem is. However, it will be Sunday when the Dallas offense cant match Farve, and the Dallas defense is suckin wind beacause their offense cant move the ball.

I could care less what Dallas does between the 20's. If they cant get into the endzone ..in the dome

Dallas away from home scares me with Romo at QB! This game comes down to which QB plays better and that leads me to go with Farve in a big game. I know Dallas has been playing great but Minni rested and Farve never beating Dallas is enough motivation for Farve to have a huge game i think!

Well clearly this Vikings defense stepped up big last week at home and behind the energy of the home crowd, the D-line raped Dallas' O-line and that was the game.

Let's see how they do this week without the energy of their home crowd behind them and Kevin Williams/Ray Edwards nursing injuries. Winfield still banged up too.

Dallas played like crap, as did the Chargers. But all the points concerning the Yikes d will come to fruition this Sunday. No E.J., banged up d linemen, noisy dome, etc will doom the minny team. They made Kurt Warner look very old lw, they will make Bret look even older

I have seen clearly this year that any time that a good QB has just a little protection from that pass rush they just shred that viking pass D.

Well, playing hurt this week, their D now plays on the road VS an offensive line who gives up one of the fewest sack totals and has 3 pro bowlers on it.

Now with little prospects of putting consistant pressure on a GOOD (maybe the best or 2nd best QB) how HOW in the world is that poor viking road pass D going to fare VS the best off. line/QB combo they have seen this year?

The saint punter will NOT be icing his foot sunday night!!!!!!!!

always appreciate your stuff but can't get by minny's defensive front 7 performance last week. Bye week did them a solid and there is no question this front 7 makes up for any insecurity they have in secondary. Winfield seems fine which is a boost and all so called inj check out ok on my end. I have a very hard time playing against saints in this spot w/ the drastic home field advtg and just wanting them to get to a SB but my wallet says different. I have several $ line plays on minny w/ jets and carry overs w jets $ last week parlays that pay large so i might just force myself to be swayed and put a large one on saints especially if colts run away w a big one then i'll be chasin!! J E T S!!!!!!

These stats you might wipe your ass with....Break out the stats before the Cowboys played the SAINTS and you would of thought that the Cowboys would of had their heads handed to them up their ass...but guess what?....this is one game ...and people don't know how the Saints vulnerability is...the Vikes will map every move Cowboys defense made....and will follow lead.

And I actually love Breese and co. But I see where they are weak and it is a big weakess.....Dont draw conclusions on what they did to a Tired Cards team....draw you conclusions on what they didn't do to a Cowboys team at home.....they got their asses kicked.
