USC vs. Ohio State a trap line?

OK, I have to agree with West Coast Trojan and a comment that he made in another thread.."It seems too easy, that's why I am hesitating."....obviously to play USC.

Unless Butch Reynolds of Olympic fame puts on a jersey vs. the Trojans the bucks are not going to gain anymore team speed.  I am smart enough to realize that each week is a different story, a different set of circumstances and emotions.  However, the speed factor is not going to change...USC looks so much faster.

T. Pryor better go off if the bucks are going to have a chance, i believe Pryor may do this, but if he does not they lose by 14 at least.  I believe he will be the best ATHLETE on the field on Saturday, but his rb's are bad and his line does not appear to be athletic.

This is why I am a little hesitant, obviously the "smart guys" saw what we saw....and they have to believe the number that APPEARS short is more that going to get its share of SC money.  This so looks like the kind of game that could be a five or six point game heading into the 4th but then the bucks will wear down and SC runs away with it.

Any or all opinions are welcomed ans appreciated!

I'm pretty fair is assessing my buckeyes.... but is this a fucking joke?  He was the only one that didn't look overwelmed in that game, are you high?

WOW, Billy Barrou, I will choose to respectfully completely disagree with you that T. Pryor will be the 10th best athlete on the field Saturday.  I WILL, however, agree with you that T. Mays is a stud.

I think everyone and their mom will be on USC....most of America hates the Bucks and the hype they get and then they shit down there legas in big games....however, if this line keeps moving up as much as it has of late I'll be on the Buckeyes at home.....

The way you bet this one will depend on your betting strategy...if you bet based on how the two teams look and talent then USC is a solid favorite....if you bet based on opposite of general public and/or opposite of heavy movement take the Bucks.

The Bucks will be tough at home and rarely get points but this is not that great of a team....but Tressel can surprise you....I don't think they came out with two much against NAVY....they were planning for USC.

this maybe just a popcorn eating game for me

Don't see many points being scored in this game. Pryor will be rolling out on designated plays to give him choice of throwing short or running. USC is 5-21 to the unders on grass fields. Ohio State will tackle better.

That was the excuse we all heard about the Ohio game LY.............nothing Tressell did surprised anyone.

No disrespect to the Ohio State program.  It's just that these are the games that USC always wins and usually by plenty.

@Washington?  You're damn right that's a scary game.  Locker is a better QB than Pryor, Sarkisian and N. Holt are standing over there on the other sideline and after hanging around with LSU they're going to have some confidence.  And it's a conference game and that seems to give SC trouble every year.

Just not a Pryor fan!

this isn't a trap line for several reasons... trap lines are the lines that are just "too easy"... let's consider:

1) this is Ohio St getting point at home... that ain't easy!  the Horseshoe has a rather large mystique to it, and lots of people will be happy to take the dog...

2) the line opened at 3.5 and is now as high as 7.5... the trap lines to be concerned about are when it looks "too easy" but he line doesn't budge, or even moves the other way... the large line movement (past 4, 6 and 7) means the books are worried about taking a beating and trying to find a number that gets some OSU action...

3) books are always hesitant to give out a huge middle on their Game of the Year lines, and this one opened originally around (-2.5) for USC... so while some might have expected to see a 10 spot, that just wasn't going to happen...

4) let's remember that the Horseshoe is valued as being worth around 6-7 points on the pointspread... so they are saying USC is around 14 pts better on a neutral field... i buy that!

Ice blood right on!! Also Ohio St in my opinion looking ahead at a team that killed them last season.....USC looks bigger faster and stronger....I feel OSU looked sloppy on the offensive line as well as the defensive line. I really can see USC covering this spread.....but as you said the Horseshoe will mess with the Freshman QB more than most expect.

I have got to be honest with you.. Ohio State will be covering this football game

Nice explanation there Ice4blood. USC will win and cover people, don't look too hard into this matchup. Nothing has change much.

Obviously, I hate Ohio State. However, I think that T. Pryor is an absolute stud and Ohio State has a great coach. I would love to take USC but why is the spread so low? I don't feel that playing in the Shoe has that much to do with it against USC in SEPTEMBER. If the game was played in November, maybe a different story. I do like the over though. I think OSU's linbacker core is a litle weak and USC will take advantage. OSU will score as well.
