You guys realize that tonights outcome was the equivalent of a touchback right?

Series doesn't start to someone loses at home. I didn't bet on the Heat so I'm more worried about OKC figuring out how to beat Dallas and get to the finals. But lets be serious here guys. About 5 things happened tonight that are not happening again in this series.

Is Noah really going to average 8 off. rebs a game? If so lets put him in the Hall right now.

Are the Bulls going to shoot 50% from 3? Noone does that

Are the Bulls really going to beat Miami to every lose ball throughout the series? Lets not forget who the best 2 athletes in the Nba are.

Is Bosh going to avg 30?

Are Lebron and Dwade going to avg a combined 33?

This game told us nothing about Chicago.

The Heat played awful. Lets not take anything away from Chicago but at the same time lets not all start blowing each other yet either. That was 10 guys dialed in and that was a thing of beauty. But it was pretty much just the opening kickoff being kicked out of the stadium. Impressive but not very meaningful in the grand scheme.

Is bosh going to avg 30? No. Lebron and dwade combined 33? No. They may cancel out then. Yes the bulls will likely beat the heat to most loose balls. They have all year. Noah is a beast down low

Maybe the bulls are better. We know the heat have 2 of the 3 best players in NBA. We also know they have nothing else

One thing I did see was Wade being extremely exhausted by the 3rd quarter.

I don't know what it is, maybe it has something to do with chasing Ray Allen for 5 games but he just looked gassed.

That being said, I just think the Bulls are a better team. I just do not think Miami can win in the United Center. Homecourt will mean a lot in this series.

Love that Elizabeth Lambert avatar. I like her, she's feisty.

I agree with a lot of what you're saying there, but "This game told us nothing about Chicago?" That's how CHI has been all year long. They're scrappy. Simply put, they're not going to play this well all series long, just 4 games is all I ask.

Your right about homecourt and if miami wins in chicago can they win twice in chicago because i certainly think chi can get 1 down in miami which would take away miamis 1 chicago win

I won't even touch all the misspellings and just plain bad grammar, must be a Heatle fan.

Actually it was meaningful, it means the Bulls have to only win 3 more, and the Heat have to win 4 more.

So is it still going to be ho-hum if Miami falls down 2-0?  Doesn't matter that they'll then need to win 4 out of 5?

It's thinking like this that will allow me to play Chicago on another short line.  And grab some points in Miami.  Let's face it.  The NBA is ALL about match ups.  The Heat don't match up well with this Chicago team.

Bulls will rebound better, hustle more and have a much better bench. MUCH BETTER!  Wade and James will be dead tired by the 4th game of this series.

You're kind of taking it to the other extreme here, pretty sure winning game 1 of a playoff series by 20 points is slightly more impressive than a touchback on the opening kick off.

Yes, right now people are overestimating that win, we've got a lot of basketball left to be played....but don't go the other way and pretend that winning game 1 means nothing at all.

No shit. I hate the whole series doesnt start until someone loses at home. So if they bulls win series 4-3 cuz home team won every game has the series started yet?

I think the Bulls are the better team. They made that clear in the regular season. However, I think it takes something different in a 7 game series. Its really hard for a bench to assert itself. This isn't like the Mavericks "bench" dominating the Lakers with 3 guys who used to be starters. This is a bunch of hard nosed tought athletes with young legs and limited skill. I don't think thats going to cut it. I could be wrong.

I'm surprised by the reaction to this win. They still haven't held serve at home yet. I would save the I told you so type talk until at least they can go to Miami up 2-0. If Miami wins he next game ,-1.5 says thats possible, then the message board is going to be very quiet.

BUlls kicked the opening kickoff out of the end zone but they haven't made Miami punt yet. Its too early to say anything, thats all thats clear.
Fairweatherfan says:

So to you 2-0 is the equivilent of forcing the team to punt the ball in the opening possession?  Or maybe that's not enough, it is just holding home court after all.  If the Bulls manage to make it 3-1 or 3-0 would that be equal to a punt?  Is there any situation in this series that would get us to the second quarter in an NFL game?
aszzzbrokerman says:

Ok, let me be a little bit more clear. Chicago did what it was supposed to do, impressively i should add. That being said didn't we all think that Chicago would win at least one game at home?

The pretty girl smiled at you, but you still haven't come close to fucking her. Better find out if shes fucking before you start telling your boys you're gonna hit it.

The message board will not be quiet until this series is over. If MIA prevails in game 2, it'll simply be the Heat backers' turn to voice their mightier than thou opinions, although I doubt MIA will take game 2 either.

Fairweather,

All I'm trying to say is that the goal is to get a touchdown. An opening kickoff touchback makes that much more likely but its still not more likely than not.

Lets do a baseball analogy now? What inning are we in?
aszzzbrokerman says:
05/16/11 12:31AM
Top of the1st inning. Nolan Ryan just walked Rickey Henderson on 4 straight pitches.

You DROSE cock lover need to just calm down, as the original poster wrote all Chi did was held serve, and yes the true turning time when a team should truly worry is when they lost a game a home, not sure why you all jumping on what this guy said, and if you guys think the home team will go 7-0 you all are clueless, I thought the poster made a good point all Chi did was what was expected of them, even if they go up 2-0 it isn't what Mia wants but its not like its over either, have you guys not watched the playoff this year?
kickinA says:
05/16/11 12:33AM

We'll call it the top of the 4th with the home team leading 1-0 with the heart of the line up facing a top defensive team with their ace on the mound. Fair enough?

bmacattack says:
05/16/11 12:34AM
Yes, the Heat played awful. That's what great D does to a team. The Bulls have kept they're opponents scoring 83 pts. or less in 6 of the last 7 games.
That's no coincidence.
bmacattack says:

If you didn't learn anything about Chicago in that game, you never will.
AcesBooted says:

what if the bulls win in a shootout? or win with a 9th inning walk off homer? or what if they win a 1 hole playoff at augusta?  what will that tell us?!

MORON!!!!

Theres only 90 something other games that got played this season. Chicago going to win every game from here out by 20?
Osirus13 says:
05/16/11 12:37AM
Fair enought. Now im going to challenge you... Water polo comparison.. GO
Fairweatherfan says:
05/16/11 12:40AM

Err that last point doesn't really help your case, there are 7 series where a team has gotten off to a 2-0 lead in the series this postseason, 4, 4-1 victories, 2 sweeps and just one slightly competitive series, where Portland lost 4 games to 2.

So I would imagine the guys watching the playoffs this year are going to feel pretty good about 2-0
kickinA says:
05/16/11 12:42AM

Well if it's like the water polo I played in high school, I'd say the Heat are playing and defending in the deep end of the pool all the while treading mightily to save their playoff lives.
