SURPRISE, Ariz. -- Rangers pitchers and catchers were on the field for their first workout on Friday morning. Outfielder Josh Hamilton was with them.

He went right down the checklist.

"I feel good," Hamilton said. "I feel strong. I got all of my weight back. I'm running good, throwing good, fielding good. My back feels good, my abs feel good, my rear feels good. Everything feels good."

"I'm going to call 96 wins," Hamilton said.

He predicted 90 wins last year. The Rangers won 87 games, and they did it while getting basically a half-season out of their two-time All-Star outfielder.

Good news for my Rangers.....and their backers!

Their bullpen is really good (with the exception of Chris Ray).

wow. A guy on a team predicting success.

Go figure.

I believe this one way more than I believed Jimmy Rollins' "success prediction" in the World Series last year. Now that was laughable.

Got  abetter shot at winning a lottery .Way to many. As for Sparky your comment about Rollins is kinda funny as a hit here or there and its a different outcome.Really looking for a rematch with your Yanks.

Hey...maybe even the decision to push Lee back changed everything. We shall never know. Also remember that Rollins' hit against Broxton in Game 2 changed everything too. If he didn't get that...who knows if they would have even made it to the World Series. But that's baseball for you.

i will take under 96 wins... What do you expect the guy to say???

I think our team will be average.. maybe get 82-83 wins... it will be an ok season at best but we aren't going to make the playoffs or anything...

How about don't predict anything? Just say we're going to give it our all, all season long. You don't see the Jeter, A-Rod, Manny, Pujols, Youkilis etc. "predict" win totals. They know better.

"How many wins? Well, sheesh........I don't know. Our pitching sucks, which really puts pressure on us hitters. And let's face it, our manager is not that bright. Whenever he flashes a sign, it's pretty common knowledge the we go 'off the menu' and just do whatever the hell we want. Like if he calls for a hit and run, and we don't think it'll work, we'll swing away or drop a bunt, and just say we missed it. We let our hitting coach leave, which is stupid. Didn't resign our free agents, I don't know what the fuck our front office is doing. Our fans are pretty much horseshit too, showing up in Cowboys tops, what the fuck is that? Again, with the pitching, don't be surprised if I start drinking, it's that bad...........I'm sure I'll end up on youtube..........Sorry, I've just got to be honest here. If we go .500 I'll be shocked. Myself? I took the Under.........God Bless you"

Losing Kevin M. is going to hurt them big time.  I think they may have had a shot at 96 if they were able to keep him.  With Seattle making significan upgrades, it will be tough for the Rangers this year.

They may not win 96 but I still think over 83 is a good bet.   Bullpen is rock solid.  Borbon is going to run wild.  Feldman is solid.  Harden is very good when healthy.  I like this team to contend for the division and get to high 80's, maybe 90 wins this year.

At 96, I'd be slightly leaning towards the under, but at 83, sign me up for the over!!

Texas Rangers president Nolan Ryan has high expectations for the 2010 season: 92 wins.

"I just feel like that's a number that this ballclub should be able to

reach," Ryan said Wednesday. "It's hard to sit here before we play a

spring game and predict, but I feel like we have the depth and talent

and we're capable of doing that.

"Anything can happen. The division could be balanced and you beat up on each other and you might win the division with 87 wins."

Ryan said he would be "disappointed" if the Rangers didn't win the

American League West. The club won 87 games last season and finished

second in the division, 10 games behind the Los Angeles Angels.

"A lot of people won't agree with me," Ryan said. "They'll say the

Angels have more established starting pitching and Seattle has improved

and their pitching is good. All those things are true. But I also think

that we have a balanced ballclub and I think our club is coming

together in a way that I think they are ready to make that move. There

are so many factors that come into play, but I don't think we're asking

players to perform like they haven't before. The key is to stay

healthy."

Ryan is scheduled to travel to Surprise, Ariz., for spring training

later this week and plans on attending most of the games leading into

the season. He is entering his third season as club president.

I'll gladly take 96 with my over 83.5 bet.  I'm thinking it's closer to 89-91 though.

Not sure about 96...but I'd POUND the over 83.5 all day! No way this team goes backwards in the win column. Sky's the limit for the Rangers this year. And now that Greenberg and Nolan are taking over, holy shit look out AL West! We got a owner that will spend now!!! And not only spend, but spend on the right pieces. And if Harden can be anything like his former self, that's even better. TEX has a top notch pitching staff, and a more than reliable bullpen. New hitting coach, Mr. Hurdle, is bringing a whole new philosophy to the offense that struggled at times last year.

And fuck Josh Hamilton! The dude is DONE!!!      He's a brittle man and has done way to much damage to his body. I'll be surprised if he plays over 100 games this year!
