49ers -3 Discussion thread

I wanted to get some good feedback/discussion from everyone here to get their thoughts here. Home field in the NFL is an automatic -3 points, and the bookmakers are saying that SF is only a field goal better than the Seahawks...I don't buy that. Pete got rid of all the veteran staff, and is under a lot of pressure in this spot with an inferior team. The 9'ers will win the west, and I think they roll here. Thoughts?

I don't see them loosing this game at all...ML @ -150 is a value play IMO, still on the fence about it.

I agree niners roll today.

There is too much talk about how Seattle will be one of the bottom teams

this year in the NFL and I think they'll show it.  Seattle will compete with Buffalo for the worst team this year.

I did a little write up, but I thought I'd go a little more in depth.

SF has a top 5 D and is poised to take the division.  Seattle is in absolute shambles as Carroll has cleaned house.  It got so bad, that the O Line coach (Gibbs) quit 8 days ago.  Same thing happened last year with TB/Cle and they played horrible for about 8 games.

Seattle is without their top Oline pick (Okung), got rid of TJ, and outside of their linebackers have no D.

SF almost won in Seattle last year, but an ill-timed punt return trick play resulted in a fumble, and Seattle scored and pulled out a victory.  I think Singletary has them motivated to play, the D limits to under 14 points, and SF rolls.

Vegas pegged this one wrong at first opening with Seattle as a 1 point favorite.  The sharps quickly jumped on the gift, and Vegas scrambled to make it Niners -3.

Like Bill Simmons (ESPN.com) said, Vegas doesn't know what to think of these teams and in the first week or two, they set lines only with knowledge of last year.

Look at these week 1 lines from last year:
Vikings (-4) over BROWNS
PACKERS (-3.5) over Bears
Cowboys (-6) over BUCS
SAINTS (-13) over Lions

Wouldn't you take those in a heartbeat again?

Just my take...

Dog is 3-1 last 4 in this series.

I lean SF but can't pull the trigger with SF 1-6 their last 7 as a rd fav.

bol whichever way you go.

Also, with that being said... I would fade Seattle for the next 2-3 weeks.

This is by far my biggest play of the week.  No "L" word, No guarantees, no BS... But if they're going to win the division, they'll need to take this game.

Vegas doesn't make big mistakes and are very conservative in week one.  This line smells like a huge trap.  SF is clearly the better team across the board, no reason why Seattle should have been made opening line favorite.  Sharps killed this play and now i'm seeing -3.5 or -4.

Hate taking Seattle, but something is up here, and i'll stick with the books cheering HARD for Seattle in this one.  I mean come on, it's rare we're actually cheering for the same play!

tenn was supposed to be a trap too

These all look like lines that were off week 1 last year...

Vikings (-4) over BROWNS
PACKERS (-3.5) over Bears
Cowboys (-6) over BUCS
SAINTS (-13) over Lions
