First off let me say I joined Covers 2 weeks ago, Omg I found my passion you know. Having a blast!

Would it make any sense when there is a game like CLEV-ATL when the line is around -2 (around 5pm I saw -2)  to bet cavs ML and take hawks +4 Actually take both sides. If atlanta wins you split and if clev wins and doesnt cover like they did tonight you win both bets....
How can you lose besides the vig.  I take this game especially just because I know many people (including me in an earlier post) took the +4 today thinking this.  I think this is a great play with a BIG upside.

Thanks all....

Yup. You can win both sides doing that. It's called middling.

If you win both, then you win big. If you hit only one, then yes, you lose the vig.

That is not  a good idea long term. Yes it won today but overall it is bad bad strategy. You are laying WAY too much juice on he money line side so it really is not a middle.

A middle is like the OKC game a few nights ago the the spread went from 4.5 early in the day to 7.5 later
If you laid the 4,5 early then saw it went all the way to 7.5 you could bet both sides and only be risking -110 each way, that is a middle.

go look at results last 10, 20, or even 30 days the idea you have would cost you a ton of $$

if you don't mind loosing the juice, get an online book that releases early lines the night before, jump on those that you think will be pounded by the majority, usually those brand name teams, then buy back the next day before game time.  Chances are you will loose the juice only but once in awhile you'll hit one.  Of course when you hit the middle, your winnings should cover for the juice for the whole week.  Just a suggestion...personally I don't play it that way.
