Sparty v.s UGA, and other Big Ten plays.....

Had a pretty solid year betting the Big Ten, this conference is what I follow and watch.  I certainly catch a lot of other action as well, but not like I used to.  For the Bowl games, I got:

Michigan State +3.5 (and some of the ML)....Yes, they've been horrid in bowl games under Dantonio, going 0-for, but I think this team will be focused. This isn't last years CapitalOne Bowl, this ain't a pissed off Bama v.s. an unmotivated MSU.  This is two teams that would probably split a 10 game series (strictly hypothetical), but I think MSU comes in with a chip on their shoulder. MSU 27-23

also on:

Nebraska/S. Carolina UNDER 47
Northwestern +10
Penn St/Houston UNDER 56.5

Will be adding Wisky at some point, but gonna wait and see if I can get 7.  Will probably be adding Oklahoma as well, but I'm gonna continue to let people drive that line down.  Looking at the Illini (what a shitfest this bowl is), WMU/Purdue OVER.  No play on the Va Tech/Michigan game as of right now.  Sorry no write-ups, I'm short on time but will be around to chat the next few weeks when possible.  good luck ya'll

OH yeah, and the ML parlay of Ohio/Tulsa/Northwestern/Michigan St.  It pays roughly 48/1.

Bense.

That's a tough game, one in which I will be staying away from.  I like this Georgia team and think they will be as equally focused as MSU.  I think the spread is just about right, and this game could go either way.

Personally I think the two best BIG 10 bets are S. Carolina -2.5 & Purdue -2.5.

That S. Carolina D will competely shut down Martinez & Burkhead in the run game and will force Martinez to throw.. and we know what happens when he has to throw.  I do like the under in that game, but I like the spread better.  Nobody on Nebraska can cover the WR's on S.Carolina's team.  This game is a complete mis-match imo.

I do like the over in the Purdue game as well, but again, I like the spread better.  I wrote up in another thread as to why, so I won't waste your time, but in the end, Purdue should win this game by more than 2.5.  (Not to mention that Hopes players will be very focused, considering he is on the hot seat... no way he can afford to lose to a MAC team).

Nice to see someone that has the Big 10  / (12) figured like you do, and also on Sparty, bense.  Haven't been around much in the mains, or posting plays very often either.  Seems to be the kiss of death when I post in these forums.  I was wondering if  you thought that the Penn St defense was going to stifle Keenum and Co., or just figured Penn St would have their usual problem putting 17 points on the board.  I was looking at that game through different colored glasses and saw a defense, Houston's, that Penn St could finally score on.  That has to be the lowest total of the year for Houston.      Here's to a great holiday season to you and yours, and may all your bets be winners.

Penn st.. always shows up for bowl games ...Sandusky will not be in their way now ..in the past they have literally killed wide receivers coming across the middle to the point where they will not even try to catch a ball ..they probably won't win but  should cover ..HOUSTON may cover the first half ..the game should go under for a change ..penn st. will slow it down ..

The Spartans will have a great chance if they can hold Georgia to field goal attempts in the redzone. Walsh has been terrible this year.

Love Michigan State here. Veteran team looking for some respect after getting pasted by an SEC team last year. I don't think Cousins and company go out laying another egg.

Georgia is a young team who quit in the LSU game when things went south, they aren't ready for the big stage. Their time will come.

Bucks over Florida no problem. A talented OSU team will be very, very excited to kick off the Urban Era by pasting his old team. They will be well prepared to do so because Meyer is working 24/7 on the field, in the film room, and on the recruiting trail. Have you noticed the recruits he has already bagged?

rLp,

Good to hear from ya, I agree on both SC and Purdue, don't see nebraska scoring much at all.  Loved reading your contributions to this forum this season, you bet hoops as well?

222bad,

Good to hear from ya.  As far as the PSU total goes, I've seen a lot of PSU this year, and they aren't typically a team that is gonna have a game total reach 40, let alone high 50's.  Obviously Houston is the polar opposite, but I think Penn State will be able to dictate the pace of this game.  Sumlin leaving Houston will have to impact the Cougars somewhat, and I just see Penn State playing ball control and grinding out drives.  Cheers to you as well, and have  a great holiday season

Yeah SNF, I think they match up well with Georgia, they certainly won't be overwhelmed like last years game v..s bama.

Hey Bense.

Got the Over & Purdue last night, hope you jumped on the over as well... That game damn near made me throw my controller into my TV.  How many times did Purdue try and give that game away?  Good Lord, what a f*ck show that game was...  Anyway, had a couple bucks on both spread & over.

I have some bills riding on two more games as of now; SCarolina, already locked in @ 2.5.  And my favorite play of all the bowls; Clemson..

Btw.. not a bbasketball guy (I have some boys who are pretty hard hitters though, and I tail them.  They tell me who to take and I do.. on the flip side, I make them money during football.. so it all equals out)..

Like NW, MSU & PSU. A&M has blown multiple double digit leads & NW can score with anybody.

Sparty is a solid team, they always good but seem to lose games have no business losing & they showed up in both games vs. WIS.   UGA an admirable foe but like the +3.5

PSU out for pride and who has HOU played? Reminds me of PUR & WMU yesterday.

Yeah, I hit both.  I thought I posted the OVER as an official play from my phone yesterday but apparently I didn't hit submit or something.  But I coattailed you on Purdue as well.  I actually wasn't able to watch even one minute of the game, but it sounds like it was a good ole' fashioned Little Caesars/Motor City Bowl , with all kinds of crazy shit going on!

Chime in anytime in the b-ball forum with any info you've got from your boys.

Official Big Ten Card: (Won on PU and PU/WMU OVER, but didn't officially post them)

Michigan State +3.5 (and some of the ML)
Nebraska/S. Carolina UNDER 47
Northwestern +10
Penn St/Houston UNDER 56.5
South Carolina -2.5
OSU +3 (-115)

Moneyline Miracle Parlay:
Ohio (Win)/Tulsa/Northwestern/Michigan St    (pays 48/1)

Will be adding Wisky at some point, but am still trying to hold out for 7.

Outside of the Big Ten:
I'll also be adding a real big play on NIU at some point, but trying to hold out for 3, but it really shouldn't matter in that one 'cuz I think NIU rolls!!!

Good luck ya'll, enjoy the Holiday/Bowl Season!!!

Adding:

Oklahoma -13.5....Jones should be able to throw all over this secondary.

jerseyboy,

I won't be playing it, but I do lean to the OVER in that game.  A&M allows a higher than average completion % by opposing QB's and Persa is about as accurate as they come.  He should light up that Aggie defense.  I don't know how motivated that entire Aggie team will be after blowing a great opportunity to beat Texas SU to cap off an up-and-down regular season, and now playing in this rinky-dink bowl v.s. "small name" school.  But, even an unmotivated A&M team should be able to score on this Wildcat defense.

222bad,

Yeah, no sense in buying down at that number, I don't understand why people buy down at anything other than 3/3.5, anything higher either usually covers or doesn't, mathematically buying down from a bigger number isn't worth the extra juice.  Anyway, enjoy the games the next couple few days and have a safe and happy New year!!

5-2 so far, never played Wisky although I took some heavy action on Oregon so rooting for the Badgers.  Gonna play Stanford +4.5, if you wanna fade Luck in his last college game........be my guest, but I'll side with him!

agree Sparty should be plenty motivated...if they lose it would be they're just not good enough...at least against the better defenses...9 ppg against ND, Ohio St and Neb....most damage against weaker ones...other than maybe Wisky defense which isn't that bad some days, MSU nice defense and Murray easily frustrated and could lay UCF tyep egg, MSU should be in good shape if they can hang 20+ on bulldogs, GL on the rest of bowls bense

Huge game tomorrow. I think Wisconsin will come out pissed because of the home loss to Iowa. However, should help state with the students not there. Izzo loves this team because he can actually coach them. They're young and will be getting better week by week. Number 10 and 11 this week in the polls. Happy New Year my friend.

That's enough for me, bense.   Already locked in the other bowl games and was on the fence with this one.  I can only get -14 so not even going to buy a half and take my chances on a push.  BOL and Happy New Year.

Bense.

You're actually lucky you didn't get to watch what was suppose to be a football game.  I have been watching football for a long time and I won't witness what I did last night ever again (I can almost be asured of that).. Two things happened in that game TWICE. ... Not only had I not seen ONE 2x in a ball game, but two diferent plays, 2x?

First.  Purdue successfuly managed to kick 2 onside kicks.  Back to Back no less.  Unfortunately, they fumble on the 15 after recoving the first one and got a FG out of the other.

Then.  Purude manages to pick off Carder twice inside the redzone.. only to have the Purdue defender get stripped, fumble and have WMU recover.. and.. if that isn't enough.. WMU manages to score on both drives after the fumbles by Purdue.. Four turnovers in 2 plays, resulting in scores for the original turnover team?  What?

Not to mention the missed tackles, fumbles, flags, dropped INT's (I think Purdue dropped at least 5 right in their hands).  Hell... Purdue even got a Personal Foul penalty during the Victory Formation (not kidding...)

To say it was a cirucus is the under statement of the year.
