College Football Week 1

My style this season is going to be to find anywhere from 3-5 games where I deem the value to be too strong to pass on. Traditionally, I have fared best when capping games that involve teams from the ACC and MAC. I went to Virginia Tech and am a die hard as anyone who has ever read my thread knows. I also grew up in Western New York so cheer for the Buffalo Bulls even they though may end up the worst team in D1 this season. So those are some caveat emptor's for anyone reading my thread.

I am going to probably have a few more games in week 1 just because there is so much time to cap the plays before the season begins just 2 wonderful weeks from now.

I have 2 different size bets I will place. My standard bet is 1 unit and my large plays are 2.5 I have referred to them as Bibendi Special's in the past so will probably continue that trend.

So far this season I have locked in 4 futures on team totals and my large play for Week 1 which will have a write up posted within the next 24 hours..

Team Win Bet's(all favorites to win 1 unit and dogs risk 1):
VT O10 -150
FSU U9.5 +130
Wisconsin O9.5 -115
Florida O7.5 -120

Straight bets
(Bibendi Special risking 2.75 to win 2.5)
Georgia +3

Hokies Week 1

Pretty excited to get this season started. Should be fresh for this season as I have stopped wagering in all other sports. Just a few things I've seen from the offseason about my Hokies...

Tyrod is the real deal. He is improving his accuracy daily and building up the strength in his ankles has been the key task for him. Contributing to his health will be the quality and depth he has at running back this season and the continued development of his receivers. He said he plans on leaving the pocket no more than 10 times this season. I dont necessarily think that would be a positive thing for the Hokies, but I wouldnt mind it in games when he doesnt need to. The offensive live should be solid with Render returning as the best guard in the nation. They have enough redneck big fellas to control the field.
On the opposite side of the field I think this defense will be better than last years. I think the additions outweigh the subtractions with the only real loss being Macho. He will be missed but we have added ridiculous speed to our linebacker corps and just wait and see how good Jason Worilds will be at DE this year. He will be a first round pick by the end of the season. Kam Chancellor may be the best athlete on the team playing the rover position which is an extremely important position in the Foster defensive scheme.
I really like the Hokies to make a statement in the opener. I would not trust a QB making his first career start against this defense no matter how ... [More]

Tennessee Night Football

It seems to obvious. It really does. The Colts cant stop the run, the Titans pound the ball on the ground. They use 2 running backs so neither of them will get worn down.

Kerry Collins is getting no respect and if I had to throw to those receivers I wouldnt expect much either. They know how to get it done though. Crumpler and Scaife on the play action which is obviously effective because Tennessee is so good at running the ball.

The Colts in the last 2 years have struggled playing Jeff Fisher even when they were the superior team, this team they arent even the superior team. Peyton Manning coming off one of the worst games I can remember. Joseph Addai and Bob Sanders out.

If you think Dominic Rhodes can run on Albert Haynesworth you are kidding yourself. Manning as usual will have to pick apart a defense. This Titans defensive backfield is full of ballhawkers though. Cortland Finnegan is class. Need not everyone forget Tennessee has Mr. Monday Night himself, Keith Bulluck.

The Titans fans should be crazy tonight and I dont think there is a more devastating combo than loud fans and a sick defense. Peyton Manning

Titans -4

*Sunday NFL*

5-2 yesterday in college football, were back in the winning column. Too bad UGA cant put together 60 minutes or else I'd have had a real good day.

So far I've only got 1 play for today and I think this line is wrong......

Houston(-3) over Dolphins.....5 units.....I capped this line at 7 but knew it wouldnt be that high. The Dolphins have 2 high profile wins in the last 2 weeks at HOME. I think people forget this is actually a horrible team. They still have Chad Pennington starting at quarterback and he will get to know Super Mario today. The wildcat formation wont be effective with the speed of these linebackers and the Texans have had the week to prepare for it. They also have Schaub back and Andre Johnson is back to being a beast. Combine that with Steve Slaton looking like he did his freshman year at WVU and thats a potent offense. They will move the ball with ease at home against this dolphins defense and this week they wont have Sage blowing a sure win, because Schaub is not a moron. Overall, I am happy to see how much the last 2 weeks influenced this line. The Texans will move the ball with ease and win this one with ease IMO.

BOL everyone, let me know if you agree/disagree
