as far as i know or can remember not a lot of 2 year old races at GP
Divito has always been a low % trainer at Gulfstream Saturday he ships a Arlington monster which maybe low odds in a tuff race lets beat him
Vexor broke out on top in a fast breeders race 20.4 also was wide though out may imp with trainer that is good with young horses not a ton of speed in this race
Ancient Rome had a big win last out but not at dist
20 to win Vexor
gl to all lets have a great GP meet
start bank roll $1000

Rush Now-stalked a very fast paced Delta Jackpot [22.3, 46.2] also was steadied into the first turn then was never pushed thereafter. Reunites with jockey that won at Del last summer, has classic 1 ¼ breeding maybe a factor down the road

With 2 Chalks-R-Us Baffert horses and the top 4 returning from the Landaluce at Hol. Keep an eye on Izshelegal ran 2cd in the afore mention race it was her first start ever and was rapidly getting to Chicago invader Dawnie Macho. Improvement likely at the longer distance plenty of speed to set up her close here and may pop at a price.

An important race leading to the Breeders’ Cup The Clement L. Hirsch, to be run at 1 1/16 miles on the main track, has drawn a field of six, led by the undefeated Zenyatta, who will be seeking her 18th consecutive victory. Is she a sure thing? Of course not.
Del Mar is where Zenyatta nearly got beat last year she won the Hirsch by a head from Anabaa's Creation; the distance is shorter than she likes and at 1/5 this race might be a worth while investment.
Made For Magic-who other than Zenyatta has a win at Del Mar and did win a G2 at SA in May at the distance she will get first run at the leaders it just how far back the big closer Zenyatta will be at that point
The rest to keep an eye on Read Here

At first glance I thought it was a 2 horse race with Lookin at Lucky and First Dude leading the way. at 9f First Dude is ofer couldn’t win a 1x at gp [although he is much improved off that race now] I’m thinking maybe Ice Box this monster closer [who is 2/3 at 9f] may be a better fit but track isn’t conclusive to big left field closers. With Our Dark Knight and Trappe Shot up and coming 3 year olds (nothing better than an improving 3y old) makes it a great race and tuff to cap
Let me know who you like my picks are
Lookin At Lucky- most likely a Baffert chalk
Our Dark Knight- improving sort
Super Saver- if rains top pick loves slop

Dublin-6 wide on first turn hurt a lot (not the best ride in the world) then made a big move on backstretch. His turn time was very good may of bounced after long layoff (106 days for throat surgery) and hard race in southwest against Conveyance tired noticeably on wrong lead inside the sixteenth pole. 2 post and back to Thompson will help to save ground because this will be a fast pace today a well time move should take it
Noble's Promise-monster race last out just passed by 2 year old champ (Lookin At Lucky) will lay behind Super Saver & Uh Oh Bango is the class of field the distance (1 1/8) and a possible bounce may factor in on the up side great work
Pulsion-Blinks off plus 3rd start of the year will improve this colt a ton but needs to be rated off pace like the huge effort in the Norfolk-G1 (was slowly getting to Lookin At Lucky) for some odd reason Nakatani grabbed the lead in The Florida Derby over Rule and tired badly anougher effort like that and he will be a also ran
Super Saver-inside need for lead type will have a hot pace today. Set a solid pace in the Tampa bay derby but never switched leads until the 16th pole then battled on gamely to the wire. Gets a great jock switch to the master borel rail can only help may lead all the way check on how speed horses are doing earlier in the program to gage track

Eskendereya-won Fountain of Youth (at 1 1/8 dist) by a ton with the best effort of the all three year olds this season needs good showing in this race or may not get in derby (28th in graded earnings list) wont bounce plenty of time off skipped Florida Derby for this race (timing wasn’t right) did nothing in breeders may of not liked synthetics expect big effort here
Awesome Act-may bounce a bit did win Gothem off a 119 day layoff, great jockey does pull in the early portion of his races and it is necessary for him to find cover before he gets too rank. According to Dan Illman's Derby Prep Report Card looks like two horse race on paper
Jackson Bend-thought he was the real deal coming into his three year old season reminded me of Express Tour who swept the Fla Stallion series in 2000 and turned into a derby horse but this is not the case one more chance
Schoolyard Dreams-nice three wide move at Tampa but premature mid-race bids are killing him gets big jock switch which will help today improvement likely
Posted Thursday, April 01, 2010 08:33 AM
American Lion-may have bounced last time with the hood added (acted up in the starting gate and was lathered up around the neck never a good sign) 3rd start of year should see a big improvement, this colt could be on the lead , first dirt ever should love it. Ill derby has a race rating of 9.5 (very solid) gets rider switch + blinks off [Leparoux will be in NY and ride Awesome Act in a short wood field] nice 5f work at SA rail has been great at haw
Yawanna Twist-only horse that has a 100+ at two turns this lighly raced NY bred closed smartly in the Gothem (G3) had to wait abit on final turn may of cost him the race jock shows up will need to race closer to the pace
Dave In Dixie-may also of bounced in last had a 125 day layoff going into the Robert B Lewis (G2) where he made a solid three-furlong move. in the San Felipe his late kick was likely hindered by the slow fractions and reportedly cut himself up during the race. has to get closer to the leaders or he will be filling out the gimmicks and kiss the derby good bye
for the other horses in this paceless race
Stephen's Got Hope-mnd only a 1/2L off of top pick widest turning for home in last, and finished evenly despite being hampered by the slow pace. He galloped out nicely
Boulder Creek-four-wide bid entering the far turn, but failed to switch leads in the stretch, and drifted in badly throughout the drive. only horse to run the distance (very important)
Turf Melody-been killed in all ... [More]

This guy had a blog and quit on breeders day always liked his system on the derby so check it out let me know whay you all think
Kennedy's 20-20 Derby Vision
Not all statistics are valuable and certainly no statistic has any real value if used on its own. One can point to individual statistics but how do you use that information in this Derby? And how do you know that this is the one stat that has more value than all the others. The best way to use individual statistics is pooling them into a group and creating a profile that takes all factors into account but diminishes the significance of all single factors.Prep schedules may change but then things like minimum speed requirements don't. Unlike other Derby systems the focus is not on eliminating horses who cant win the Derby. The focus is in trying to quantify the relative chances of each entrant. Each entrant is given a score and graded based on that score.

Dont need mr for Baffert chalks so with that in ming
Nacho Friend-tracked the pace while three wide and made a strong bid four wide for the lead on the final turn in the Gotham (G3) at AQU. Dug in nicely in the stretch and was hard ridden to the finish lost ground most of the way. Needed that race after a 219 day layoff because of bad ankle but there is a good chance he may bounce off that effort has good inside post may have trouble with turns? Did run at the toga looked like an impressive move before hanging on rail (watch race here) good work in the 12's at track
Conveyance-Hall of fame trainer ducks the big final preps to land in this G3 event has early speed and going extra furlong today (Fog Alert only horse who ran the distance of 9 furlongs) would of liked to see a work over the track (noticed many shippers have a hard time with the turns here favors local horses) a 26.1 last quarter wasn’t exactly burning up the OP stretch last time one of 2 horses with a 100+ SR at two turns high prime power (+7) doesn’t hurt 4 for 4 lifetime
Storming Saint-local favorite who won the prep (Borderland Derby via DQ) to this race over his stalemate Raise the Bridle (a second time starter that was still a mnd) not a great resume but these local horses do have a slight advantage
Guiltbyassociation-never found a home on the turf in S. Cal did beat the afore mention Raise the Bridle at 6f mnd event gets ... [More]

With Discreetly Mine only two wins on the lead I believe this race will be run much faster early than the Risen Star was so that in mind let’s take a look at the contenders
Mission Impazible-bad post in the Southwest led him to be 3 wide throughout chased a very good horse in Conveyance
Fly Down-two wins in a row for Zito (who just won the Fla derby with Ice Box) nice rally at the distance jock comes in to ride threat
The Program-Never been on dirt hung a bit in Sham at SA but Chalks R Us Baffert is always dangerous with shippers may get a price if hits
A Little Warm-Never been two turns did run into a great sprinter D' Funnybone and held his own top pick in wonder horse has high prime power but no breeding for the longer races the AWD(Average Winning Distance) 6.7f for the Sire is a little short in a 9f race
Ron The Greek-Could never uncork his monster move in the slow paced afore mention Risen Star (:24.3 :48.3 1:13.2) moves inside a little needs racing luck (fast pace, not to wide last turn, bumped, shut off) any horse who can run a 122 LP rating is special
Discreetly Mine-Your favorite his only two wins where both wire to wire fashion may not get such an easy lead today has plenty of back class a lagitament derby horse if he can show that he can be rated here (if I where the trainer that what would be done cause the derby's pace will be fast) still 9th on the Kentucky Derby Graded Earnings does not need win needs to learn how to come off pace and win

With 3 fillies and 7 Southern Hemisphere Bred (unfairly weighted 131 lbs because of age) this race may set up for a Northern bred horse with MENDIP leading the way
Mendip-Undefeated in three starts, has tactical speed and powered home at this distance. Great connections (Godolphin has two others [Frozen Power, Siyaadah all have the best posts looks a bit fishy) overall a week race
Musir-won a G1 in S.africa July 4th last year won both his 4 year old races this year last from post 14 s/o today to Preakness distance of a 1 3/16 may be favorite
Siyaadah-one of Godolphin others has great jock switch to mama's boy GRYDER (use to call him that when he was an apprentice cause he looked so young) has win at track this filly needs a well timed move

KETTLE RIVER missed a week of training due to an illness for the Sham (G3) and had some traffic trouble on the turn this colt will improve a ton here
Connemara-looked good in winning El Camino Real Derby (G3) for Pletcher raced four wide on the turn for home and passing five runners in the final eighth-mile 1 for 1 at distance inside may hurt this horse he likes to race wide and have clear sailing
Outlaw Man-making his synthetic debut in the Sham (G3) had to wait a bit on the turn and galloped out nicely after the race adds blinkers today has the look of an improving colt
Letsgetitonmon-Was compromised by the lack of early pace in the Risen Star (G2) won only race on synthetic at AP may get a piece if race falls apart
