Leans as of now, Will pare down:

Raiders +3.5

-this is a battle of two below average ball teams.  Everyone saw the Chiefs hang tough with a chance to tie the ballgame on the road vs The Pats while on Monday Night the Raiders get pasted at Home vs the Broncos.  I don't think the Chiefs are as good as they looked and I don't think the Raiders are as bad as they looked.
Their also has to be motivation here for the Raiders wanting to make up for their woeful performance.  No one likes to be embarrassed especially on primetime and I look for this defense, especially the talented secondary to be playing with a chip on their shoulders this week.  Maybe the egos and big signings the Raiders made this off-season made them a little overconfident and cocky, and hopefully this first week brought them down to earth.  Another angle I like about this in-division matchup is that it is usually a tightly contested game.  The Raiders lost at home to the Chiefs 12-10 but beat the Chiefs at Arrowhead 20-17 with both numbers falling under the line set at 3.5 and I think  this hook could prove large here.

Vikes +2

-the Colts are an above average football team no question but I don't see them as the elite team they were a couple years ago.  They are a better team than they showed last week for sure but their offense looked a bit rusty and their run defense was pretty poor, getting shredded for 183 yards.  Now let's look at the Vikings.  The Vikings boast an even better running game and line than the Bears.  They should be able to run and control the clock against the Colts just like the Bears did.  The Vikings also boast a stout run defense which should make the Colts a one-dimensional team this week.  I don't know if Manning is fully healthy and sharp enough yet to take this game over and win it through the air.

Skins Pick

Rams +8.5

Niners +6.5 or +7

Texans -4.5

Chargers -1.5

Plays locked in earlier in week thinking line would move in my favor (subject to middles or buyoffs):

Cowboys -6.5 (-105)

Jags -6

Panthers -3 (-120)

-As you can see I was wrong on the Jags but still like my position there.

-Got a great number on the Cowboys though but have no real opinion on this game as of yet I think 7 could be a sharp line.  Hoping to see a 7.5 for the Eagles come my way.

Lean

Skins Pick

-This is a game I'm on the fence of playing or throwing out.  I'm a little bit leery of backing a team that looked so inept employing new head coach Jim Zorn's new offense both in the preseason and in Week 1 against the Giants.  But remember this is not a horrible team.  They do return much of the same team that went 9-7 last season and made the playoffs.  What I did like from this team last Monday was the play of their defense.  Aside from the Giants first touchdown drive they were able to limit them to only 3 FG's the rest of the game.  One thing the Redskins can do is run the ball well and that matches up as an advantage for them against a team that cannot really stop the run.  Any furthur insight on this game would be greatly appreciated.

Bushman9, I predict that Jim Feist and Wayne Root will engage in a bidding war for your services because your powers of persuasion are formidable.  I mean they have to be.  How else could you possibly get some of us to begin considering the hideous Raiders as a possible take +3.5?  After reading your writeup, I'm even thinking moneyline.  Somebody stop me!

Haha, Thanks Bator...I had to google Wayne Root.  He's a pretty interesting guy, a tout and a politician, figure that.

I sure hope I'm right here,  it's not easy backing one of the perennial doormats of the NFL on the road after the drubbing they took but hey someone's got to hold that ticket, right?  Just a standard play here, nothing large.

Where are you leaning this week?  Anything standing out?

I did it last night at the Mirage.  Five dimes on the Oakland Raiders moneyline +170.  Man, there was a lot of fine tail out en force on the Vegas Strip.  Even by Vegas Strip standards.

I'm also on the Packers -3, Panthers, -3, and Dolphins +7.  Still considering the Giants -9 +110 and the Chargers +1.

Good to hear the eye candy was out in abundance tonight in the desert...tonight was good out here in east coast standards but probably a 5 on the vegas scale.

Good number on the Black and Silver ML and Phins +7...leaning pack if anything in that game...phins are sharp...off the rams as off now and confused as hell on the chargers game.

I think the Dolphins line is a little skewed due to public perception of both teams.  The past few years the Cards have been a public team, a sleeper team or a team on the rise but have pretty much been average.  I think they can play down to their competition.  The Dolphins are not a terrible team.  They could of won that game last week if a break went their way.  They got after the quarterback and their defense didn't look terrible.  Their offense is pedestrian but they can run a little bit and pennington can manage the game.

So I lean value in +7 in what should be a tight game.
