POD- WSH/PHOE UNDER 5.5 -120

We have a battle in the desert tonight as the struggling caps offense starts off there western swing in phoenix tonight.   caps are really struggling right now on offense averaging 2.0 goals per game in the last 10 games.  they have scored 3 or less in 8 of 10 2 or less in 7 of 10 and have scored 1 or less in 4 of 10 and were shutout twice.  they are struggling mightily on the power play going 2 for there last 26. there defense on the other hand has been top notch going under in 9 of the last 10 allowing 1.9 goals per game. they have allowed 3 or less in 9 of 10 2 or less in 7 of 10 and 1 or less in 4 of 10 games.  they have been exceptional on the penalty kill killing off 27 of 28 power plays. yotes on the other hand after an over streak of 5 games have no gone under 4 games in a row and have allowed only 4 goals in those games.  They have 2 shutouts in the last 4 games and have killed off 28 of 32 power plays.   bryzgalov has been amazing the last 4 games saving 98 of a possible 102 shots.   on the year he has 23 wins 5 shutouts and a 2.58 gaa while varmalov has a 2.22 gaa and 2 shutouts.  it will be interesting to see if the caps can get out of there offense malaise on this road trip. they have scored 1 goal the last 2 games against two of the better defensive teams in the sharks and kings and face another tough defense tonight. until the caps score  i will ride the under with them which has cashed 21-4 in the last 25 games  and 21-5 in caps last 26 road games.  3-2 someone tonight.


dog play - stl ml +130

i think this is a really good spot to back the blues tonight.   blues have lost 7 of 9 and are in desperate need of a win.  nucks are starting a mini 3 game road trip and are banged up missing 3 key players tonight in hamhuis edler and just added to the injury report burrows. since the start of last season the teams have split six games with stl outscoring van 18-14.  at this point in the season van is pretty much locked into at no worst the number 2 seed if not number 1 they are right now by 7 pts over det.   blues meanwhile are trying to make 1 last ditch effort at the playoffs.  they need wins. ill back more desperate team at home tonight against a foe they have always been competitive with.


cgy flames ml -115

avs have lost 9 of 10 and have been outscored  40-18 in the process. forsberg announced his retirement today and there battling numerous injuries.  dont like the body language of the avs right now and like the flames to get the job done tonight.
