This a true story,working for ESPN RADIO in central,fl.I was lucky enough to walk thru-the Gators practice area today.In the wieght lifting area,there was this huge calender,marking each day that get's closer to the Tennessee Vol game.I was told by a member of the coaching staff,that this a huge game for the player's,how they won't to show coach Meyer how much they love him.Showing him that nobody will hurt,or speak in a wrong manner about there coach.THE HONEST TRUTH I WAS TOLD THEY WILL TRY TO SCORE 70 POINT'S.I played this game with Bet Jamica,I got it at 27.5 point's,I got the hook for .5 point's.So if your afraid to pull the trigger,maybe this true story will help you.Good Luck,God Bless.

hes a scumbag, not even trying to flame UF here or him.. hes a great coach but he could care less about running up the score, esp. vs someone who has talked smack like lane has..

didnt mean for my post to be a flame, prob game off like that being an fsu fan.. it was more to make the point that I will be betting the gators very large this weekend bc he will not take his foot off the gas one bit..

actually ....the greatest sign of disrespect to your opponent.....would be to STOP doing your best....Currently in college and pro football.....(as we have seen).....the talent gap is not that wide...so in most EVERY game....the team getting the worse of it......CAN rise and at least "challenge" the team kicking their ass....BUT ....rather than criticize the GUTLESS effort we are witnessing.....we take the CHICK side......"shame on that team for embarrassing the other" WTF?.........

* technically ...."running up the score".....is to go OUTSIDE of your "normal" type of game plan.....to purposefully show up the other team......meaning......if Florida is up 50-0 in the 4th.....and Brantley is in .....running their "normal' offense.....for Urban to do anything else is stupid.....you should try to score until the game is OVER...this is NO WAY running up the score......HOWEVER.....if the game is clearly out of reach......and you onside kick to get another quick score......or you're running trick plays...fake punts...going for 2......> THAT would be an example of "running up the score" ......which although maybe classless.....i also have no problem with....never in the NFL......and most college matchups.....(in high school or junior high.....different story entirely)
as long as the other team can't stop them.......mainly due to lack of EFFORT.......no problem here.....

* if also a coach (up 50-0).....wants to only RUN.....when he would usually pass ....i would salute that classy move .....personally what i would do....(CFB)

* SO ....on your side Urban.....beat their ass....i wanna see TOTAL DOMINANCE......tired of all this parity....."lets make everybody equal"...  BS...

florida has covered what? 10 in a row? every single thing...i mean every single thing points to a florida blow out...

it makes me want to jump on tennessee but this probably a no play for me. this is a difficult game to cap because no one knows how this tenn team will react coming off a loss. there are much easier games to cap in my opinion. just because a game is a "big" game, doesnt mean you have to force a play on it.  GL

I actually think that Tenn game plan is to take Tebow out.  Tebow is a tough son of gun so doubt it will happen, but UF offense pretty much puts him in the line of fire every other play.  Not to mention Tebow will be going all out for the win.  If Kiffin were able to pull of this win he would be an instant legend in Tenn and I just have a wierd feeling him and monte are scheming right now. 

 

If Tebow survives, UF blow out and no one can get on Urban for running it up on Kiffin.

I agree it is a ton of points for a rivalry SEC game - history would tell you to take the points but I wouldn't step in front of the Gators until somebody proves they can cover the number maybe that will be Tenn.  Urban like the old man so I don't see him hanging 70 but he knows what the line is and likes to keep the alumni happy.
