Free Play: LA Dodgers vs. Atlanta

Our Free Play today comes from Marc Lawrence.  Marc is on a 17-9 MLB run with his paid plays (that is a sweet 65% for those who are counting!) and gives us this one for free! Check out his thoughts on this afternoon's Dodgers-Braves game.

Pick: LA Dodgers
Start: May 19, 2013 - 1:35 PM
Capper: Marc Lawrence
Offered at: betonline @ 188 LA Dodgers

Analysis:
Play On: L.A. Dodgers vs Minor

Note: The struggling Dodgers close out a three game set the Braves when they face Mark Minor in Atlanta Sunday afternoon.  That's good news for Los Angeles considering Minor is 0-4 with a 6.36 ERA at home in his career team starts during the month of May.

In addition, Minor is also 0-2 at home in his career team starts in this series.  With that look for L. A. to catch a break here today.  We recommend a 1-unit play in the Dodgers.  Thank you and good luck as always.

Check this out:  No less than three awesome angles are inside Sunday's Round Three Game One showdown between the Grizzlies and the Spurs.  Best of all Marc has it - and you can, too - if you act now!

MLB: Milwaukee vs. St. Louis - Free Pick

Pick: ST. LOUIS Start: May 18, 2013 - 7:15 PM Capper: Will Rogers Offered at: 5dimes @ -170 St. Louis
Analysis:

I've cashed the Cardinals multiple times earlier in the week as a free play winner and think Saturday happens to be a good time to jump on them again as they host the Milwaukee Brewers. They took Friday's opener, 7-6, which was their 13th win in 16 games.  Milwaukee is going the other way right now, losing 13 of 15.  This series appears to be a big mismatch.  St. Louis is now 7-1 vs. Milwaukee this year.

Here are my keys to the game:

1.  Lance Lynn - I have to start here. He's 6-1 in his eight starts with a 2.88 ERA.  At home, he's 4-0 with a 2.00 ERA. Since his 1st start of the year, he's allowed more than three runs only one time.  Needless to say, I don't think Brewers starter Marco Estrada will be much match for him. Estrada has an 8.22 ERA his last three starts, though he did win his last.

2.  Hitting woes - The bottom four hitters in Milwaukee's lineup showed why they are hitting higher in the order Friday night, going a combined 0 for 15 Friday.  Heading into yesterday, the Brewers were averaging just 3.3 runs per game on the road.

3. X-Factor - The Cardinals seem to have solved their previous bullpen woes somewhat with Edward Mujica having saved all 12 games in 12 opportunities.

Selection: The play is on the St. Louis Cardinals (1*).

The Cappers are cashing at Covers Experts

The handicappers at Covers Experts tore it up last night, cashing 54% of their plays as a group. Well done gentlemen.

However, I must apologize to my loyal followers as well as my betting account, as I didn’t get the job done last night picking the winners. Out of all those winners, you would think I could grab a few, but it wasn't the case.

Once again I am thankful for playoff hockey, as it was the only game I cashed on last night. The MLB and NBA action was absolutely brutal last night. I mean, come on, the Knicks and the Pacers could only muster up a combined 160 points. Absolutely embarrassing.

OK, I got it out of my system. That’s enough venting and sulking for me. Let’s keep our head up, stay focused, and move into today’s action.

With no NBA on the slate today, I will be going with two MLB and one NHL.

Steve Merril is getting the call for my first MLB selection. I just can’t let him have another day off. After last night’s split Merril is currently sitting at 60-33-1 (65%) on the season, and he has racked up over $18,000 for his bettors. Merril has not released an MLB play yet, but I will be grabbing it when he does.

Will Rogers is who I am looking at for my second pick tonight. The “Coach” has cashed 55% of his selections so far this season, and he has his “Top Rated Total” loaded and ready to cash tonight.

We all know Sean Murphy can get it done in all sports, as he showed yesterday, sweeping the board. It is his NHL e... [More]

MLB: Seattle vs Cleveland - Free Pick

Friday's Free Pick comes from Covers Expert Will Rogers

Pick: Seattle

Start: May 17, 2013 - 7:05 PM

Capper's Page: https://experts.covers.com/Handicapper/Will_Rogers

Offered at: 5 Dimes @ -152 Cleveland

Analysis:

The Seattle Mariners are in Cleveland on Friday, coming off a three game series in New York that saw them take two of three from the Yankees. They might be in for a rough ride in Game 1 versus the Indians though, with 22 year old rookie Brandon Maurer on the mound. The M's offense will have to contend with a red hot Cleveland hurler in Ubaldo Jimenez.

Here are my keys to the game:

1: Pitching: Jimenez has been fantastic in three straight starts, only allowing three runs, and winning all three games. It might be worth noting that he was roughed up only twice this year, and both of those starts were in afternoon games. He might not be fooling hitters in the light of day, but he's doing just fine under the lights.

Maurer (2-5, 5.97 ERA) is coming off consecutive losses. He allowed three runs on six hits over just five innings in his last start, losing 4-3 to Oakland. He allowed a pair of home runs in that game, and it was the third time this season he's given up multiple home runs. That's a recipe for disaster against a Cleveland team that ranks first in the majors in slugging percentage, and fifth in runs scored.

2: Hitting - Not on... [More]

MLB: Washington vs. San Diego - Free Pick

MLB FREE Pick for Thursday May 16th, 2013. Courtesy of Covers Expert ~ Marc Lawrence.

MLB: Washington vs. San Diego

Pick: WASHINGTON
Start: May 16, 2013 - 10:10 PM
Capper: Marc Lawrence
Offered at: betonline @ -145 Washington

Analysis:

Play On: Washington w/Strasburg vs Volquez

Note: When the Nationals send Steven Strasburg to the hill against Edinson Volquez and the Padres in the opener of this four-game series in San Diego they will do so knowing Strasburg is 5-2 in his MLB career team starts during May, including 3-0 away.

With Volzquez in lousy KW form with 9 strikeouts and 10 walks his last three starts, look for him to fall to 1-5 in his last six May team starts here tonight.  We recommend a 1-unit play on Washington.  Thank you and good luck as always.

MLB: NY Mets vs. St. Louis - Free Pick

Wednesday's Free Pick comes from Covers Expert Will Rogers

Pick: Seattle

Start: May 15, 2013 - 8:15 PM

Capper's Page: https://experts.covers.com/Handicapper/Will_Rogers

Offered at: 5 Dimes @ -1.5 105 St. Louis

Analysis:

If you've been following my free plays, then you know I've cashed the Cardinals each of the last two days. Yesterday's free winner was in addition to a 6-0 day with my premium selections! Today, the asking price on St. Louis is a bit too high on the money line, so I will instead turn to the run line & lay the -1.5.  I don't anticipate this game being very close.

Here are my keys to the game:

1. Pitching Matchup - This is totally in favor of St. Louis.  Starting for the Mets is Shaun Marcum, who is having a disastrous year with a 8.59 ERA in four appearances. He's dealing with an injured thumb on his non-throwing hand as well. He was knocked around for six runs his last start. Meanwhile, Cards starter Shelby Miller has allowed only eight runs ALL SEASON in seven starts. He's coming off a complete game shutout against Colorado that saw him strike out 13 and walk no batters.  That win lowered his ERA 1.58 and his WHIP to 0.876. Total advantage for the home team in the starting pitching department.

2. Homefield Advantage - Just a brief update from yesterday. The Mets have now lost 11 of 14 at Busch Stadium. [More]

MLB: Seattle vs NY Yankees - Free Pick

Tuesday's Free Pick comes from Covers Expert Marc Lawrence

Pick: Seattle

Start: May 14, 2013 - 7:05 PM

Capper's Page: https://experts.covers.com/Handicapper/Marc_Lawrence

Offered at: Bet Online @ 112 Seattle

Analysis:

Play On: Seattle w/Hernandez

Note: When the Mariners send Felix Hernandez to the mound against CC Sabathia and the Pinstripes at Yankee Stadium Tuesday night Seattle will do so knowing the King is in commanding KW form with 40 strikeouts and only 3 walks in his last five starts.

He is also 8-2 with a 2.19 ERA in his last ten-team starts in this series, including 4-1 with a 1.13 ERA the last five in New York.  With the large lefty just 4-8 his last twelve home team starts during may, and Hernandez in a rare underdog role, look for the Mariners to steal the opener here tonight.  We recommend a 1-unit play on Seattle.  Thank you and good luck as always.

Don’t miss this: Marc's database has isolated a Key Play on Tuesday night's NBA playoff card supported with a killer winning situation inside the game that is 100% ATS perfect in the playoffs since 1990.  You know what to do!

Pick: Atlanta

Start: May 13, 2013 - 9:40 PM

Capper's Page: https://experts.covers.com/Handicapper/Marc_Lawrence

Offered at: Bet Online @ 104 Atlanta

Analysis:

Play On: Atlanta Braves w/Minor vs Miley

Note: The Braves and Diamondbacks meet in the opener of this three-game series in Arizona where Mark Minor meets Wade Miley.  Minor enters the fray in solid current form sporting a 4-1 away career team start mark during May.

With Miley in shaky KW form with 11 strikeouts and 10 walks in his last three starts, look for the Braves to improve to 9-2 the last eleven games in this series here tonight.  We recommend a 1-unit play on Atlanta.  Thank you and good luck as always.

Free Play: Pittsburgh vs. NY Mets

Today's Free Pick comes to us from Sean Murphy.  Sean is currently UNDEFEATED in the NHL playoffs, and switches gears to the diamond today to lay a different type of lumber.

Pick: Pittsburgh
Start: May 12, 2013 - 1:10 PM
Capper: Sean Murphy
Offered at: sportsinteraction @ 190 Pittsburgh

Analysis:
Matt Harvey's presence on the mound has driven this line sky-high - a little too high, in my opinion. The Pirates have already taken two of the first three games in this series, and simply don't belong in this price range against a team the caliber of the Mets.

As I mentioned, Matt Harvey will take the ball for the Mets. He's been outstanding and is coming off the best start of his young career last time out. New York has won six of his first seven starts this season, but I don't believe that's a sustainable trend. Note that in his last two outings, the Mets have lost to the Marlins, and narrowly defeated the White Sox by a 1-0 score. Three starts back they needed a ninth inning rally to tie the game, and eventually won 7-3 in extra innings against the Dodgers. Even if Harvey pitches lights out this afternoon, there's no guarantee he'll get enough run support, or that the Mets bullpen will make a lead stand up. Speaking of the Mets 'pen, it has posted a collective 4.61 ERA this season. The Pirates have offered a stark contrast in that department, with their relief corps recording a stellar 3.06 ERA. Offensively, we're talking about two t... [More]

MLB: Cleveland vs. Detroit Free Play

Today's featured free pick comes from Bryan Power.

Pick: DETROIT Start: May 11, 2013 - 7:08 PM Capper: Bryan Power Offered at: 5dimes @ -225 Detroit
Analysis:

1* Detroit (7:08 ET):  It's VERY rare that I would even touch a line this high.  But sometimes it's worth it.  Such is the case Saturday night when Detroit sends out Justin Verlander to face the Cleveland Indians.  As I expected, the Tigers beat the Indians down in Friday's series opener 10-4 (winner for me).  Today, should be even easier.....

Over the last two seasons, Verlander has a perfect 13-0 team start record in home night games. That should be enough right there as we all know how good Verlander is. He comes in with a 1.55 ERA in seven starts and he's been even sharper lately with a 0.86 ERA and 0.952 WHIP his last three starts.  He took a no-hitter into the seventh inning his last start, a 9-0 win over Houston. He's allowed more than one earned run in only two starts this year. Meanwhile, after a dreadful start to the season Ubaldo Jimenez has won back to back starts for Cleveland.  That ends here. His ERA is still 6.37 in six starts.

To rehash from yesterday's analysis, home field advantage has been huge in the past when these teams me... [More]

MLB: Milwaukee vs. Cincinnati - Free Pick

Friday's Free Pick comes from Covers Expert Bryan Power

Pick: Cincinnati

Start: May 10, 2013 - 7:10 PM

Capper's Page: https://experts.covers.com/Handicapper/Bryan_Power

Offered at: Bookmaker @ -150 Cincinnati

Analysis:

All things considered, this seems like a pretty fair price on the Reds at home in the opener of a three-game set with the Milwaukee Brewers....

The Reds will go with Tony Cingrani here as he looks to stay unbeaten in five starts. Cingrani is off what was easily the weakest of his four outings so far, lasting only six innings while giving up four runs. But in his three starts before that, he'd allowed just 3 ER in 18 IP while striking out 28 batters against only four walks.  Those numbers are much better than what Brewers' starter Yovani Gallardo has produced (4.50 ERA in 7 starts).  Plus, Cingrani hasn't been arrested this season.

Milwaukee is not playing well right now.  They've lost six of seven and all those games were at home.  Having played a MLB-low 11 road games total so far, the Brew Crew look to be in trouble this season as they are below .500. They are also just 14-33 as a road underdog since the start of last season.

Thursday FREE Pick: Atl vs SF

Thursday's FREE Pick comes courtesy of Covers Experts Doc's Sports. Check it out!

MLB: Atlanta vs. San Francisco

Pick: ATLANTA
Start: May 9, 2013 - 10:15 PM
Capper: Doc's Sports
Offered at: betonline @ 105 Atlanta

Analysis:

Free MLB Play from Doc’s Sports Take #905 Atlanta Braves over San Francisco Giants (Thursday, 10:15pm ET)

We have an interesting matchup in San Francisco on Thursday night as the Giants host the Atlanta Braves. It’s the veteran versus the youngster as Ryan Vogelsong duels against Julio Teheran.

Vogelsong comes into today’s contest really struggling with a 7.20 ERA and 1.66 WHIP in his six starts in 2013. The biggest problem has been the long ball as he’s surrendered eight home runs in just 35 innings of work. Vogelsong has always been a bit overrated in my book as he pitches in an extreme pitcher’s park and has never had outstanding peripheral numbers.

Teheran was one of the top prospects in all of baseball and expected to make a big impact this season. So far, the returns aren’t stunning as he’s put up a 5.08 ERA and 1.66 WHIP. He’s given up his fair share of home runs as well and hasn’t been able to avoid the big inning.

There’s no question that both of these pitchers are going to improve this season, but the question is how much. In the case of Vogelsong I think he is on the decline of his career at the age of almost 35. He’ll keep his team in games but isn’t going to blo... [More]

MLB: Toronto vs. Tampa Bay - Free Pick

Wednesday's Free Pick comes from Covers Expert Bruce Marshall

Pick: Tampa Bay

Start: May 8, 2013 - 7:10 PM

Capper's Page: https://experts.covers.com/Handicapper/Bruce_Marshall

Offered at: 5 Dimes @ -1.5 120 Tampa Bay

Analysis:

It is becoming apparent that Tampa Bay's relief corps is a mess, with the entire staff in general looking a bit depleted after the offseason moves that sent James Shields and Wade Davis to Kansas City.

And Joe Maddon's bullpen imploded again last night at The Trop when allowing the Blue Jays to rally for a 6-4 win.  But the best elixir for those relief corps woes might be an effort deep into the game by a starting pitcher, and who better to count upon in that role than young lefty Matt Moore, already 5-0 and almost untouchable in the early going at St. Pete, where his ERA is 0.64 and OBA .089 entering tonight's game.  That's a far cry from Toronto starter Ricky Romero, who recently returned to the rotation but was unable to get beyond the 4th inning last Friday vs. Seattle and took the loss vs. the Mariners.  Romero has also won just once in his last fifteen decisions.  Play Rays on Run Line Rating-5

MLB: St. Louis vs. Chi. Cubs - Free Pick

Tuesday's Free Pick comes from Covers Expert Bryan Power

Pick: St Louis

Start: May 7, 2013 - 8:05 PM

Capper's Page: https://experts.covers.com/Handicapper/Bryan_Power

Offered at: 5 Dimes @ -121 St Louis

Analysis:

1* St. Louis (8:05 ET): After a one-game interleague interlude, where they surprisingly defeated the Texas Rangers here at the Friendly Confines, the Chicago Cubs return to Senior Circuit action Tuesday night as they start a brief two-game set with long-time rival St. Louis.  Admittedly, I lost my free play going against the Cubbies yesterday. Needless to say, I expect a much different result here.....

Lance Lynn gets the start for the Redbirds tonight.  He's 4-0 all-time in four starts vs. the Cubs w/ a 2.96 ERA and lately has been simply phenomenal, going 3-0 with a 0.86 ERA his last three starts overall.  In six starts this season, he's 5-0 with a 2.765 ERA. Over the last two seasons, Lynn owns a team start record of 17-1 against NL Central opponents. So what I'm saying is to expect a quality start here from Lynn.

Prior to beating Texas yesterday, Chicago had lost four straight.  They were swept over the weekend here at home by Cincinnati. St. Louis has won six straight, including their first-ever four-game sweep in Milwaukee over the weekend.  The Cards are 20-12 L32 vs. the Cubs. 1* St. Louis.

Capper: Marc Lawrence

Offered at: 5dimes @ 145 Toronto

Note: Mark Buehrle takes the hill for the Blue Jays in their series opener at Tampa Bay Monday evening knowing he has cashed in 9 of his last 11 team starts during the month of May, including 5-1 his last six away.

With Buehrle in fine current form, look for him to improve to 10-5 in his career team starts versus the Rays here tonight.  We recommend a 1-unit play on Toronto.  Thank you and good luck as always.

LA Dodgers vs. San Francisco Free Play

Bryan Power, who has been red hot as of late, brings us a free play total on tonight's MLB match-up between the Dodgers and the Giants.

Pick: U (LA at SF)Start: May 5, 2013 - 8:00 PM Capper: Bryan Power Offered at: bet365 @ Under 7 -120
Analysis:

1* Under Dodgers/Giants (8:05 ET):  After yesterday's scoring outburst in which the teams combined for 19 runs (10-9 Giants win), I expect a far lower-scoring game tonight on Sunday Night Baseball between Los Angeles and San Francisco.   Consider that in the four previous meetings this season, the teams had not scored more than a total of eight runs, with 3 games seeing four runs or less scored. Two were shutouts...

Pitching tonight for the Dodgers will be Hyun-Jin Ryu.  He looked good last time out, allowing only two runs over six innings as the team beat Colorado 6-2. He struck out 12 Rockies.  I cashed a free pick on the Ryu and the Dodgers in that game!  It was Ryu's second straight quality outing as he'd previously given up just one run in 7 IP vs. the Mets on April 25th.

San Francisco is 40-18 Under at home following a win by 2 runs or less.  They are also 18-6 Under after allowing nine or more runs in their last game.

Giants' starter Matt Cain has been surprisingly ineffective in six starts this season, but he did throw six scoreless innings against the Dodgers on Open... [More]

Play On:  Washington w/Gonzalez
Note: The Nationals and Pirates put the wraps on this three-game series in the Steel City where Gio Gonzalez matches serves with Wandy Rodriguez.  Gonzalez takes the mound with a sparkling 13-3 career team start mark in May, including 12-1 the last thirteen.   He is also 2-0 with a 0.96 ERA in his career team starts against the Bucs.  With that look for Rodriguez to fall to 6-13 in his last nineteen team start in May here today.  We recommend a 1-unit play on Washington.  Thank you and good luck as always.

NY Mets vs. Atlanta Free Pick

Today's free pick comes to us courtesy of Larry Ness. Larry is Playing the total on tonight's Braves-Mets game.

Pick:O (NYM AT ATL)
Start: May 4, 2013 - 7:10 PM
Capper: Larry Ness
Offered at: 5dimes @ Over 7.5 -102

Analysis:
The Mets lost six straight games from April 25-30...
My free play is on the NYM/Atl Over at 7:10 ET.

The Mets lost six straight games from April 25-30, totaling only 11 runs and hitting .165 with three HRs but have scored 14 times with six HRs in back-to-back victories to open the month of May. New York won 7-6 at Miami on Wednesday and then 7-5 (10 innings) last night in Atlanta.

The Mets have a chance to match a season high with their third straight win as they face Julio Teheran, who has been Atlanta’s least effective starter in 2013. Opponents are hitting .333 against Teheran, who has the worst ERA of any pitcher on the Braves' active roster. He has one quality start in five tries, while every other Atlanta starter has at least four. Now here’s the catch, the Braves have won all five of his starts (he’s 1-0 with that 5.08 ERA), as Atlanta has scored 31 runs in his outings.

Jonathon Niese is 2-2 with a 3.31 ERA on the season but is winless in his last three starts, while getting just three runs of support. That should change here and while Niese is 5-1 with a 2.93 ERA in seven starts against the Braves since the start of the 2011 season, I’m expecting those Atlanta bats to ‘wake up... [More]

MLB: Seattle vs. Toronto Free Pick

Today's featured free pick comes from Bruce Marshall.

Pick:SEATTLE
Start: May 4, 2013 - 1:07 PM
Capper: Bruce Marshall Offered at: bet365 @ 111 Seattle

Analysis:

A bit of juggling in the Mariners' rotation has Hisashi Iwakuma (suitably recovered from a blister on his finger) on the mound against the Blue Jays on Saturday, with Joe Saunders pushed back to Sunday.

Which is good news today for Seattle, considering Iwakuma's sparkling numbers that include a 1.67 ERA and 0.69 WHIP this season.  Meanwhile, the Blue Jays continue to flounder at 10-20, and now off a shutout loss to Felix Hernandez on Friday night.

Starter R.A. Dickey has not looked good lately, either, with a 4.50 ERA this season amid concerns about a strained back and neck.  Note Seattle has also won six  of the last seven vs. Toronto.  Play Mariners on Money Line Rating-5

Thursday MLB FREE Pick: Orioles vs. Angels

Thursday's FREE Pick comes courtesy of Doc's Sports. Check it out!

MLB: Baltimore vs. LA Angels

Pick: BALTIMORE
Start: May 2, 2013 - 10:05 PM
Capper: Doc's Sports
Offered at: pinnacle @ 109 Baltimore

Analysis:

Take #967 Baltimore over L.A. Angels (10 p.m., Thursday, May 2)

If it feels like the season is slipping away from the Los Angeles Angels, that's because it is. Only the Astros have a record worse than the Angels in the American League, and manager Mike Scioscia is really feeling the heat. The offense hasn't clicked as expected with the addition of Josh Hamilton, who has really had a hard time adjusting to his new surroundings.

The bigger problem has been the pitching staff, where the starters have gotten rocked and the bullpen beat up just as badly. The Angels carry a staff ERA of nearly 5.00 and it's not getting any better since the beginning of the season. Today's starter Joe Blanton is one of the reasons why as he comes in 0-4 with a 7.09 ERA and 2.10 WHIP in five starts with the Halos. Over the last decade or so, pitchers coming over from the National League to the American League have really struggled to make the transition. Blanton is no exception, and it's hard to imagine that he'll be able to hold his job unless he really picks up the pace here soon. MLB FREE Pick: Giants vs. Diamondbacks

MLB is now in full swing! As we enter the month of May we would like to kick things off with a FREE Pick, courtesy of Covers Experts: Marc Lawrence. Check it out!

MLB: San Francisco vs. Arizona

Pick: ARIZONA

Start: May 1, 2013 - 9:40 PM

Capper: Marc Lawrence

Offered at: betonline @ 105 Arizona

Analysis:

Play On: Arizona Diamondbacks w/McCarthy vs Lincecum

Note: When Brandon McCarthy and the Diamondbacks host Tim Lincecum and the Giants in the finale of this three-games series in Arizona Wednesday night they will do so knowing McCarthy is in fine KW form with 13 strikeouts and 2 walks in his last three starts.

With Lincecum 0-6 with a 6.36 ERA in his last three team starts in this series, look for more of the same this evening.  We recommend a 1-unit play on Arizona.  Thank you and good luck as always.

Don't make a move on Wednesday's NBA playoff card until you put Marc's Key Play winner on your ticket.  Best of all it's backed with a killer angle inside the game that is 100% ATS perfect since 1992 - and it's yours, if you act now!

NBA FREE Pick: Warriors vs Nuggets

Doc's Sports is on a serious roll! 11-1 all-sports run heading into Monday! Jump on his NBA FREE Pick for April 30th NOW!

NBA: Golden State vs. Denver

Pick: Golden State

Start: April 30, 2013 - 8:00 PM

Capper: Doc's Sports

Offered at: 5dimes @ 8 -108 Golden State

Analysis:

Doc's Sports Free NBA Pick for Tuesday:

The Warriors have proven they can run with the Nuggets, as they have covered all four games in this series thus far. The bookies are still lining this Game 5, however, as Denver is the overwhelming favorite. We took the Warriors on the series line, and we think that this series is pretty even overall.

Golden State has proven they can excel even with David Lee on the sidelines, and we expect a close, hard-fought game for both sides. The Warriors are young and athletic, and we think this team is not fazed at all by the altitude in Denver, which is their main advantage at home. It did not seem to bother them all in Game 1, where they were in it down to the final buzzer, and Game 2 where they blew the Nuggets out of the building on their own court. The Warriors have all the momentum now in this series, and Steph Curry is really playing out of his mind right now, and we don’t expect him to cool off tonight. When he is playing like this he is the best player on the court and can take control of a game all by himself.

The oddsmakers are posting such a big spread here because they think the ... [More]

MLB FREE Pick: Padres vs Cubs

Jesse Schule is HOT! 9-0 in his last 9 MLB picks! Jump on board with his FREE pick for Monday April 29th.

Pick: Chicago Cubs

Start: April 29, 2013 - 8:05 PM

Capper: Jesse Schule

Offered at: Pinnacle @ -152 Chi. Cubs

Analysis:
This is a Free play on the Chicago Cubs.

The Cubs (9-15) will host the Padres (9-15) on Monday night at Wrigley. Chicago has actually looked a lot better this season than they did a year ago. While they have a losing record, they have played some stiff competition early this season, and against a weaker Marlins team, they have just taken 3-of-4 in Miami.

Jeff Samardzija will toe the rubber on Monday night, and he'll be looking to put an end to a four game losing streak. Samardzija (1-4, 3.30 ERA) has pitched quite well this season, and deserves better than his 1-4 record. He tossed six innings allowing one run on seven hits in a 1-0 loss to Cincy his last time out.

The Padres will send Clayton Richard to the mound at Wrigley, and the left-hander was rocked in his last start. Richard (0-2, 7.04 ERA) only went 1 2/3 innings, allowing six runs on six hits. Richard gave up 31 home runs in 33 starts last season, and that's a scary thought for the southpaw heading into Wrigley.

The Padres are coming off a three game sweep of the Giants, and they have won four in a row at home. They haven't been nearly as successful on the road though, wi... [More]

MLB FREE Pick: Atl vs Det

A second Covers Experts FREE Pick for Sunday April 28th! Courtesy of CE Steve Merril:

MLB: Atlanta vs. Detroit

Pick: U (ATL AT DET)
Start: April 28, 2013 - 8:08 PM
Capper: Steve Merril
Offered at: pinnacle @ Under 8 -123

Analysis:

Sunday Night Baseball in Detroit as the Tigers host the Braves.  Atlanta has lost three straight games and they are playing terrible baseball on their long road trip.  They lost a series in Pittsburgh before taking two of three games in Colorado.  Mike Minor is 3-1 with a 1.80 ERA in four starts for the Braves.  He has allowed 5 runs and 20 hits in those contests.  The Tigers are hitting right around .240 in their last eight games and they should struggle with the Atlanta starter.  The Braves’ bullpen has an ERA under 2.00 on the year.

Doug Fister has allowed just 6 runs and 17 hits in his last three starts while picking up victories over Seattle and Toronto.  The Braves are hitting right around .223 in their last eight games.  The offense just hasn't had the same spark on the road that they have at home this season.  Both of these teams have not really seen the opposing starter so there will be some adjustments to be made throughout this game.

We’ll recommend playing the Braves and Tigers Under the total in this game on Sunday night.
